You have to manually calculate the timing. Usually the bombs drop in a curve, so you should try to approach the target as close as possible, then drop the bomb as you fly upward and away. In short, skills.
JustGP here performs a different maneuver from the one I descibed, but still very efficient as he doesn't have to risk being so low to ground and eating up the bullets. It is still more difficult to time the drop though.
