I don't remember or care what I was watching before I clicked this vid, but I had to insta click this when I saw it in my recommended because this is my favorite kind of paper fights yall have done
I always love the decks Cameron builds for these. He has a knack for putting together a set of interactions that are so interesting in a way that really tickles my brain.
Love this format every time they do it, makes me think of when I first got into the game and a friend helped me put together a decent deck for 40$ in 2011, went to my first FNM a week later
The first $20 deck building challenge you all did is what got me hooked on this channel. I'm glad to see it again! Cost adjusted for inflation of course lol
I know a dad at FNM/standard nights who brings his kids who mostly play those red decks, and its awesome. even though I hate playing against the deck, its awesome to see that family at the store and its so wholesome
I’d love to see something similar to this, but each person is put in charge of bringing 45 cards for a cube, which is then drafted with each player having no idea what the others have put in the cube. There would probably need to be some stipulation around colour balance, but ultimately it probably wouldn’t matter too much past “try to keep an even number of each”
It's Friday morning. The coffee is hot and fresh. McDonald's hash browns are warm and crispy. You've got the best job in the world and you're on your way to record some paper magic. Ben, I like the way you think.
So happy you guys did this again. I got to meet Ben Ben at MagicCon Vegas (I was the guy who you had a smoke with on the second floor day 1). But like legit the fun different ways you guys do magic is so inspiring to me and what keeps me coming back
This is my favorite series that you guys have done. It's what made me originally subscribe. Thank you so much for providing this wonderful entertainment
59:48 A build the worst playable deck would be so fun! Have it be randomized so you could potentially get your own build back, but the likely hood of playing against it is higher. I feel like you guys have done this in the past. Still would be fun to see.
29:02 Hate to be that guy but that Red Herring has to attack. It probably wouldn't have mattered since it would have gotten blocked and it's not suspect to keep the mouse back.
damnit! good catch. All my brain power was put into defending Ezio and trying to keep a straight face when i might have the win. In fairness i think Wheeler blocks with sad robot? this is OgreDemonFather's first appearance of the evening
I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that this year Oct 2nd is a Thursday. The good news is that next year, Oct 2nd is a Friday. Not sure how much you want to commit to that bit but I know I can’t wait to see that second rite cube! Much love! ❤
For friendly mulligans we've implemented a rule where any hand that has less than two or more than five lands is a free mulligan. It's obviously broken for some decks, but in a friendly, casual format, it works great.
Sharuum’s spare room was Imprisoned in the Moon. Yawgmoth’s mall goth bought Smallpox. The Tolarian Terror trains terriers in the Tolarian terrarium. Mogg Mob’s Law Blog lobs boggart laws. Rhythm of the Wild gives Slivers Riot.
I love watching these cool budget challenges, I love watching how happy Nelly was to Second Rite someone, and I would absolutely love to see more of both!
1:37:00 ish, I think Ulmer could've gotten both Terrors on the board and just wound back the land drop. Turn goes land drop 1 -> Cache Grab (grabbing a land) -> land drop 2 -> Tolarian Terror 1 -> Tolarian Terror 2. He could have tapped Forest and Growth Chamber for cache grab knowing it's gonna fill up the bin and he intends to play at least one Blue spell, possibly two depending on the results. Maybe his hand had some other Green spells in it which he was thinking of playing and it's a more legit wind-back in his eyes, i just loved the double snake drop so much lol
This was super fun and educational to boot. We play commander ezcept when we draft or do a prerelease, but this was very inspiring. I have one Cruel Ultimatum LOL!
These are definitely my favorite style of FNPF, but I’m curious about Nelson’s deck. Each time y’all have done the budget builds before, there was a “no mono red,” rule. Why not this time?
this looks like so much fun. i think i would have tried something with fallout cards, some of them are so sweet in 1v1s (ie i try them in canlander and lose, but in a budget context maybe they're better)
not sure how great it would be as an idea but doing theros backwards would be cool, like "modern cardframe back" excluding nostalgia bait cards like new old border alt arts
I'm so glad LRR paid $100 so I could watch Nelson get someone with Second Rite
I actually fell out of my chair holy god
13 damage from Gearhulk into Cruel Ultimatum into the next game ending with Hidetsugu's Second Rite? THIS is Magic!
Wow I hate TH-cam's insistence on spoiling videos by flashing random comments just below the video
Looks like he cast the Gearhulk for 5, not 6 mana.
@Kev02286 He had an Izzet Boilerworks as the farthest away land, so he had 6.
@@aeolus7762thanks. Totally forgot about that.
I won a draft by pulling off Hidetsugu's Second Rite 4 TIMES to win games! SO SATISFYING
AND HERES NELSON WITH A SECOND RITE FROM THE 10 ROPE
MAY GOD BE MY WITNESS WHEELER IS BROKEN IN 2
I don't remember or care what I was watching before I clicked this vid, but I had to insta click this when I saw it in my recommended because this is my favorite kind of paper fights yall have done
Big same. It didn't occur to me how much I missed them until I saw this one
Absolutely feel the same
These are my favorite paper fights! It's cool to see what you build and inspiration for budget builds of my own. Thanks so much.
I missed these $25 value games. Just seeing you guys pick out your cards makes me want to visit my LGS! 😊
Enjoy the LGS.
I loved Nelson playing Second Rite again
Nelson “Hidetsugu’s Second Rite” Salahub
Absolutely loved this challenge, from the masterful pre-tape to Nelson's absolute filth. Big vote for more content like this.
Same anytime a youtube channel goes to a small shop instead of Amazon I pay more attention
Man, the Hidechekov's Second Gun really got me
free real estate
I always love the decks Cameron builds for these. He has a knack for putting together a set of interactions that are so interesting in a way that really tickles my brain.
Love this format every time they do it, makes me think of when I first got into the game and a friend helped me put together a decent deck for 40$ in 2011, went to my first FNM a week later
The classic Hidetsugu, from the classic Hidetsugu player! To actually be able to witness this fabled ritual made my day, thank you.
The first $20 deck building challenge you all did is what got me hooked on this channel. I'm glad to see it again! Cost adjusted for inflation of course lol
thank you nelson, for playing the mono red list one of the 12 year old friday afternoon standard kiddies plays at my lgs. godbless
I know a dad at FNM/standard nights who brings his kids who mostly play those red decks, and its awesome. even though I hate playing against the deck, its awesome to see that family at the store and its so wholesome
These videos are the best magic content on the internet. so happy
I’d love to see something similar to this, but each person is put in charge of bringing 45 cards for a cube, which is then drafted with each player having no idea what the others have put in the cube.

🤔 This sounds fun/funny as hell.
Yellowjacket is the only LGS I've seen that isn't absolutely stuffed top to bottom with product. You can see the walls?!
It's Friday morning. The coffee is hot and fresh. McDonald's hash browns are warm and crispy. You've got the best job in the world and you're on your way to record some paper magic.

I love these so much. It's always so cool to watch and fun to build with just absolute jank
I love seeing an LGS challenge come up in my feed!
It isn't the first rite that gets you, its the second rite.
When’s the third rite dropping?
59:48 A build the worst playable deck would be so fun! Have it be randomized so you could potentially get your own build back, but the likely hood of playing against it is higher. I feel like you guys have done this in the past. Still would be fun to see.
This made me put Hidetsu2 Electric Boogaloo in my cube! Awesome stuff.
The first two games in this episode were quite literally Magic at its best.
29:02 Hate to be that guy but that Red Herring has to attack. It probably wouldn't have mattered since it would have gotten blocked and it's not suspect to keep the mouse back.
True- was trying to find someone who commented this
damnit! good catch. All my brain power was put into defending Ezio and trying to keep a straight face when i might have the win. In fairness i think Wheeler blocks with sad robot? this is OgreDemonFather's first appearance of the evening
Onslaught block tongue twister: Clickslither blocks Quick Sliver
I suuuuppperrrr love this concept !!! So glad you guys finaly came back to it
The prodigal video series returns.
The heart and soul of Magic right here- played by people who are good people.
Love budget challenge b/c it's exactly the kind of thing I want to do but can't coordinate.
I love these videos... please make this a series
I BUSSING LOVE THESE SO MUCH. Please keep doing them as you can, they are awesome.
YES I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MORE OF THESE FOR SO LONG
I have some good news and some bad news.
The bad news is that this year Oct 2nd is a Thursday. The good news is that next year, Oct 2nd is a Friday.
Not sure how much you want to commit to that bit but I know I can’t wait to see that second rite cube!
Much love! ❤
Thank you for having Wheeler, its great to have been here.
Honestly, the flick of Wheeler's unsleeved cards actually sounds like music to my ears. It's such a great sound.
What a fantastic concept. Now I want to try something similar with my buddies :)
2:45:12 Nelson force ghost
For friendly mulligans we've implemented a rule where any hand that has less than two or more than five lands is a free mulligan. It's obviously broken for some decks, but in a friendly, casual format, it works great.
Just wanted to add to the tally of people who loves these challenges and looks forward to more of them!
Sharuum’s spare room was Imprisoned in the Moon.
Yawgmoth’s mall goth bought Smallpox.
The Tolarian Terror trains terriers in the Tolarian terrarium.
Mogg Mob’s Law Blog lobs boggart laws.
Rhythm of the Wild gives Slivers Riot.
I love watching Wheeler and Nelly play. They're clear and confident in their plays and communication
Love it, the way MTG was intended to be played! Can't wait to watch!
I love watching these cool budget challenges, I love watching how happy Nelly was to Second Rite someone, and I would absolutely love to see more of both!
love this, creative decks interesting cards budget, nice, I'll definetly try with my friends
have some engagement
btw, love these budget challenge videos
1:37:00 ish, I think Ulmer could've gotten both Terrors on the board and just wound back the land drop. Wait Ben just built standard simic terror, sick
The tightness of the intro was *chef's kiss*
29:00 for future reference
When Ben first spoke about boggles I thought he meant beebles!
"Ben's Plan: Slap the Chungus" and "Bennie Wheels, Pickle Kid" might be some of my favorite screen titles ever
Love these episodes!
Yeeees, only watching the intro but already hyped. One of my fav episodes ever!
I LOVE Detective's Phoenix. I have no idea if it has a good commander home or anything though. I haven't been able to find a great use for it
The Second rite brought me such joy
This is my favorite content from y'all. Keep doing more!
Nelson doing the Nelson thing is the best.
Why wouldn't people want to use the acronym mtg?
In the US it can also refer to horrible MAGA politician Marjorie Taylor Greene.
@MSUHitman thanks
This was super fun and educational to boot. We play commander ezcept when we draft or do a prerelease, but this was very inspiring. I have one Cruel Ultimatum LOL!
Loved every one of these budget limit FNPF vids. Ever thought of doing something like a $100 budget commander challenge?
Love this content. Wish more content (and MTG in general) focused on brewing.
These are definitely my favorite style of FNPF, but I’m curious about Nelson’s deck. Each time y’all have done the budget builds before, there was a “no mono red,” rule. Why not this time?
Can't say for sure, but at the least the restriction to 2024 makes it a lot weaker
What a great first match. Mono~ish~ can be so fun and goofy.
Cam's deck looks like the kind I would build, but Nelson's or Ben's look like the kind I wish I'd think to build.
Love a good budget challenge video!
"This card's banned in pauper, it has to be good?"
Hello everyone else who jumped straight to the comments at 29:05
OH MY GOD IT RETURNS!!!! YESSSSSS
You should've been looking for Bogles instead of boggles, Ben. Gosh.
I would love to watch a league of this!
The year end CanLander tourney is always my favorite. I wish it happened more often.
Gasp one of my favorite lrr mtg variants!!!! Monetary theme challege lets go
i got Second Rited myself yesterday so i feel the pain
by far the best format (of constructed magic and of FNPF)
Awesome job folks
these are always my absolute favorite fnpf you guys do, i would LOVE more of them its been too long
The Second Rite returns!
I have to know if Nelson is doing The Format during the prerecord.
More of this please! $25 vids slap
Love your over-shirt, Nelson! Beauty
@LRRMTG i would love to see you do something similar but with a set budget to buy boosters and then build a sealed deck.
this looks like so much fun. i think i would have tried something with fallout cards, some of them are so sweet in 1v1s (ie i try them in canlander and lose, but in a budget context maybe they're better)
Awesome to see another budget challenge! Man YJ has changed since the last one
is this the 3rd one now i love the idea of the Budget Challange being yearly
These are always so much fun
A Second Rite has hit the Wheeler
A cool and good thing for LRR to do
Ben missed a little Eldrazi token around 2:08:00, he didn't have to take 4 there, he could have taken just 1. He made a blocker.
Rules twist for the future: Every whole dollar below 25 is an extra life at start
I think you guys should check out Primordial format and do a night!
By god that's Hidetsugu's theme!
I was literally watching the twitch vod when this notification popped!
Should have called this the Friday Night Pauper Fight
we tend to reserve that for the pauper format /shrug
MAKE THE SECOND RITE CUBE!!
not sure how great it would be as an idea but doing theros backwards would be cool, like "modern cardframe back" excluding nostalgia bait cards like new old border alt arts
Nelson is v good at slipping Shakespeare into the stream 😆
I think this still might be my favorite FNPF format.
Hidetsugu's SECEND rite, kills for having TEN health collector number 102, I'd say 10/2 is a valid holiday for Hidetsugu day 😂
Powerful budget Magic is the best kind of Magic
