I know a lot of people are against the dad and think this is once again another situation of “Mom stays at home while dad is breadwinner” and while it is I think they get a pass. He is a national Olympic gold medalist athlete! And that comes with a lot of dedication and work. And they knew that when they decided to have a baby! While it is very unfortunate that he barely sees his kid(s) I don’t think he’s the bad guy that people are painting him as. 1. Yes he sighed a lot and “complained” when taking care of Eunwoo but it was his first time! I did the same and continue to do the same! It’s very hard work taking care of a child and while moms and caregivers make it seem like it’s easy it’s because they’re use to suppressing how hard it is! 2. He acknowledges his faults. He says to his wife “I would die without you” knowing that she has put in so much effort. And he acknowledged that his son barely knows him. I think if anything I feel bad for him the most there because clearly he’s judging himself the most out of all of us. He’s trying to juggle his dream career while trying to start his family. What I like about him most is he’s not perfect, but it’s clear he loves his sons and his wife and he’s making an effort.

absolutely, and he knows where he's lacking and he's not afraid to admit it and he wants to change it!! Those are all huge green flags, he wants to be a good dad and hubby, realizes it requires more effort, and despite his hectic schedule, he wants to do more. He's a better father then a lot of men already just by admitting it.
My cousin and his wife are both national/professional athletes. His wife even held our country's flag during the Olympic opening ceremony. They waited until after she retired (in her early 30s) to start having kids. My cousin is still a professional/national/gold medalist. They have their second baby, and he's around as much as possible, even though he plays professionally in a country other than the one he mainly lives in. It's absolutely possible to be an amazing, involved parent and a professional/athlete. You must recognize parenting for the challenging profession that it is and that once you have a child, your priorities must change. If you can't handle that (which is absolutely understandable) wait until you retire. I also think it's important to note that this TV show gets edited. Regarding "reality tv," it's never actually reality. producers split and put together footage to tell a story they think will get a reaction out of the fans
@@casschreiber4053very true, but this video is from more than a year ago and now he is very involved in childcare and you can tell bc eunwoo is very attached to his dad so i think he has made good efforts to become a better dad
it's true that he used to lack alot and its okey you can't be perfect from the start but it was always a virus how much he loves his wife and child/ren
he always worked hard and constantly improved look at him now he is doing a great job both of his sons ?mostly eunwoo) cling to him a lot + I didn't see him repeat a mistake twice
They are the sweetest parents I have ever seen, I love how patient and loving they are.

Me watching this video after his retirement and now he is such a good father to both his children i am so glad he accepted where he lacked and worked on it for his wife and children and now they both junho and eunwoo are so comfortable and happy with each other i am so proud of junho🥹

Stuff like this just proves most cultures have super low standards for men when it comes to child rearing. He’s doing all that dramatic sighing after being left alone with the baby for barely a day. This show specifically kind of proves just how uninvolved fathers are with the kids. It’s ridiculous

That was my first thought when I found this show and it's premise; but to be fair with this man (and SOME others), it looks like he's the only one providing for the 3 of them (soon to be 4) at the moment, plus he's a national athlete so I guess his schedule is different from any other working dad so he HAS to leave for days so he can keep on providing economically for all of them; and tbf I don't blame him THAT much for being overwhelmed considering it was his first time taking care of the baby all alone since he seems to be pretty awkward and introverted, so more than a deadbeat, I feel it's also a personality thing for all the sighing; point is, we can't demand for a sole provider of a family to also be doing the same things a full time housewife do, it's just doesnt add up, at least some of this men recognize that they are failing and are trying to improve that part os their lifes, but truth to be told, unless they stop working forever, they'll never be full present in their kids life, (this also aplies with working moms btw) and while I blame sexism, I blame more the capitalist and materialist system we are forced to live in
@@allysonrose4661 all I see are excuses sis. There’s absolutely no reason he should be that out of touch with his own child. He was just being dramatic, as most men are, with all the sighing. He’s an athlete yet he was exhausted giving a baby a bath? Yes we Can demand the sole provider do the same things as a housewife; baths, diaper changes, feeding, and putting the baby to sleep are all things he’s fully capable of doing. And things he should be doing because he’s still a parent. I understand his career and everything but all the complaining and dramatics over having the baby for a little bit of time is just ridiculous. I bet he doesn’t do all that when he’s playing his sport. I think it just proves we expect very little from men when it comes to child rearing
He's actually a very good dad, if you were updated with the chapters you would see how hard he works with his family; even dedicating himself to sports and entertainment, he has created very strong bonds with his babies (because they already have two, Eunwoo and Jungwoo, who are just a few months old). The return of Superman with Eunwoo and Jungwoo with their parents is the most adorable. Give the current episodes a chance to see what a beautiful family they are. Being new parents can't be easy, after all...
