This isn’t leadership. Your entire squad is voiceless. They don’t speak up because you spew negativity when they do. Have your best make up artist teach Tokyo. She’s clearly trying to help. You should ensure everyone is in the group chat because YOU should’ve created it. You need these kids as much as they need you. They deserve respect too!

It's crazy that you took that from this video. I can agree with the Tokyo part. Tommy is teaching them to be professional and he opened the floor for everyone to speak. Maybe I'm crazy.
@@vccc814 I don’t think it’s crazy. It’s my opinion. Teaching them to be professional is allowing them a safe space to speak without retribution. Teaching them to be professional is also not making it all about business, especially when he needs them to be present for the business to work. He should be building them up. I agree with him regarding lateness. But everything else, as I said previously, is not leadership. Tommy has a huge ego and needs to learn how to work with these kids to find out why they’re having a hard time. If he continues to approach them as he does, more will leave.

Also, you must have missed the part when he talks about if they need something they can come to him. He has helped a lot of them out personally. You want this man to be evil so bad. He's not perfect. I don't agree with everything he does, but I can't be fake and try to make him out to be a bad person. If little Skyler who barely says anything could go into his office and speak to him, do you think the rest of them can't? He worked 31 years to build this. As a dance instructor, Tommy I think you should create a safe space for the dancers to open up about their feelings. We as the viewers appreciate the behind the scenes, but I feel meetings and moments like this should not be recorded.
As far as Tokyo, there was a way that you could’ve addressed the face painting without her feeling discouraged or embarrassed. You could’ve offered her help from a MUA or tutorials. She doesn’t have to do that but that fact that she helps should be appreciated since everyone is being lazy. Your criticism wasn’t constructive, but more so bullying.
I agree with the professionalism as far as coming in uniform (face paint), hair and being present/on time.
Your leadership style to me was a little bit of a dictatorship and you should do more self reflection on how you talk to them. Your retention would be better and you wouldn’t feel as though you’ve dropped the ball.
If the dancers aren’t on time or late, they shouldn’t be getting paid for a party. Time is money.
I agree with you 100000%!! He could take a class on leadership rolls hisself. And try to find better ways of communication. Sometimes it’s him that’s the problem!
Tommy, I like how you opened the floor and realizing the root of the problem but with double staff, maybe you can do more paries or double book with half at one party and half at another, Just a thought 😊

While watching this , I realized that Tommy isn’t a very soft place to land at all . he came off borderline narcissistic. BZ actually tried to ease the tension that Tommy was unknowingly creating . BZ wanted to make everyone comfortable enough to speak their mind . if Tommy wanted to have a safe space he would have went the route it a similar route BZ was trying to take . Tommy needs to do some reevaluation . Tommy may need a MAKEOVER himself . it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it . and honestly in my opinion this doesn’t even seem to be all about the pay . whoever had the comment about writing anonymous letters has a good idea
Notice how BZ said he’ll be quiet. Tommy, you want your dancers to open up to you so much but embarrass them when they do. An hour and thirty minute long meeting of Tommy trying to convince them he’s right, especially with the pay situation. He was talking about all the reasons in which the dancers should like their pay.

Dang I would have cried if I was Tokyo. Tommy she is helping everyone with there faces. It won’t matter how early she got there. Either you pay someone professionally to paint faces so you won’t have to worried about how they faces look or the timing of it. At the end of the day, They are children and you or paying them to dance and perform. Painting is extra. Just like you pay bz extra to dj too

Sometimes…this man just be saying anything. He also should take a class on management communication skills, and how to PROPERLY hold a meeting where people feel comfortable. I’m starting to see so much fun being taking out of this group! And as messy as he calls his team, he can be too. Calling out Tokyo over the face paintings with the extra remark was uncalled for. If you want respect, then give it too! Sometimes this “leadership” role gets over his head. His bullet points on some stuff are so all over place and not the correct wording that should be used. Literally him just saying any gotdamn thing! Everything don’t need to be recorded either.
Absolutely agree with this!!! Him comparing this to a cheer team is astronomical!!! Cheer teams could get them a scholarship to a college clowning will not PERIOD! Tommy needs to go to a leadership course especially since he’s working with kids. This is a very vital part of their development and him silencing them like this is so sad. It’s all about him he’s on a bad power trip and claims to know God.

Watching this made me realize a lot about what you guys put into the squad. Everyone has to work as a team to get things done and makes sure to get everything right. I really have a lot of respect for the staff and how hard they really work, especially tootoo and nvy who don't just do the staff work but also dance. Huge respect to all of you putting the work in.

I don’t think loyalty is the problem. I think it’s the enjoyment aspect. I understand not wanting to be in an environment of this altitude. You told Masai’s business to the world, your 1 million subscribers. Truth is, you need these dancers whether you like it or not. If you have no dancers, who will? It won’t be you. I’m sure you can entertain a party alone, but ultimately people are booking for dancing as well. The way they’re treated vs what you say is vastly different. I think you should work on making it a family environment as you say you want. This looks like strictly business.

As a HR coordinator, I was not happy with this meeting. Majority of them are kids. Operational costs are part of running a business. There are multiple streams of revenue coming in to this business. Parties, social media, subscriptions, merch and more. Employees tend to discuss grievances, pay, personal feelings and more amongst each other. This was not a meeting of a team, it was a reprimand to those about falling in line. There should be a buffer between the boss and employees. There should be a space for them to open and honestly be able to vent without the threat of firing. This could’ve been so productive for the team. Team building exercises could def help. There is always room to grow and improve.
BZ, Too and NVY should have been the middlemen so that way the dancers felt more comfortable expressing themselves.

That part where he called out tokyo just made me think of him differently, i know that hurt her and that was just uncalled for and mean. I felt so bad for her 🙁
I honestly didn’t like this meeting not one bit. Tommy as a leader you should have more compassion with your employees (since YOU’RE compensating them). As a business owner and someone who studied business and have been working in Human Resources for over 5 years, I would never treat my employees like this. Yes, dealing with different age groups dynamics can be challenging but your lack of professionalism in this video was very distasteful. I know that yes sometimes you bend over backwards for these children but it doesn’t have to be showcase as an inconvenience. These children are literally voiceless, your tone and even your body language exemplifies frustration. In every line of business you are going to have employees who fall short, but correct guidance and coaching can help improve their performance. You even went as far to read a text message about your former employee to your current employees, that’s breaking code on so many levels. Do you know that you can be sued for that…. I honestly understand your point frustration but there is always a professional way to deliver a message while being firm. You need mentoring and guidance from real professionals.
Hopefully you read this and learn from it and use it as professionals constructive criticism.

Very well said imagine how silenced these kids will be once they get into the real world! He really needs to take a management course and a course on how to work with kids! No one should be getting paid more than the other because Tommy doesn’t even give the boys their own channel or opportunities to create a fan base outside of jump outs!
i was a dancer since i was 3 years old and never got the clout of the pay for my passion. you guys are blessed to be able to get paid for your passion . There are millions of dancers who wish they had the platform you guys have now. never take it for granted. keep going. You guys are all so creative and talented . the culture is so big now .

I’ve been watching Tommy since 2003 & I love what he does! However, if this is a business and these kids work for him, the pay needs to make sense. He’s making money off TH-cam and all types of content that he creates and sponsorships Im sure. Their dancing and putting their bodies on the line daily, so yes the pay should be more than $20 for a party or drop all those dancers and keep 10-12 of them.

I honestly feel like the meeting would have been better if he worded it differently and they actually opened up and talked to tommy BUT I feel like the reason they didn't talk or say anything is because how he would respond to it or take it, Also I think they should've had a personal meeting before without cameras, the comment he made about Tokyo was nasty he at least could have said she needed to work on her face paint instead of being rude, she was putting others before her own self and was trying to help
The whole payment thing should be based off of how they performed and how well the hop out goes, and I think everyone should be getting the same payment and the more advanced dancers should have the same pay but higher, but I think everyone understands he wants his squad to be professional and good but the way he handled this could have been way better.
Based on the meeting it seemed like he was trying to get them to open up to him, but they wouldn't really talk or respond, and I find that weird, I definitely think this meeting was him venting to his squad and trying to get them to open up maybe he should have them have a personal conversation without the cameras instead because this meeting was not very good.
Can y’all boost this: these videos are monetized on top of hop outs. I think the pay should be performance based. I also think not everyone should be able to do hopouts! I feel like you should do a hop out WITH EVERYONE then the following week based off the performance cut those who did not dance full out, came late or didn’t look the part. Genuinely speaking!

I agree. Put more thought into the presentation and raise the prices. Organize the hop outs into sections and sprinkle really good group routines in the middle. Don't do the same routines at every party. He can also find more ways to make money. International supporters aren't able to pay for membership. Find another platform to give international supporters exclusive content at a fee.

Well tommy as far as the pay goes, just split the squad into two groups and do double parties then you would be able to pay more or either just cut he squad down to your best 15 people.....just a sugestion.

Tommy wants his squad to be professional. He wants them to be the best. I respect it. I think he has lowered the standard for some dancers. Most of his dancers are the best clown dancers. Some of them aren't. Most of them show up and give an effort to be better dancers. There are a couple who half do everything consistently and don't give the effort. They need to be dropped honestly because the money they make can be used to pay the dancers who really show up consistently.
There are 7 people that left from T- Squad to " Ducky Cashyear Family!" Chass ,Bunny , Kidd ,Cinco , Peirre, Hot Sauce & Lil Nai. I knew Lil Nae isn't loyalty and she sneaking back to Cashyear. Lil Nai and her partner called Mora and LayLay out last time but Mora didn't wanted to. That was soo crazy but i wanted to see their freestyle battle each other....❤❤
