I love the basket that’s made out of magazines. It is just adorable. I would never sell that. I would keep that for myself.

I used to buy folded paper earrings and necklaces from African-made fair trade. They made beautiful beads out of paper. The MCC does deal with fair trade so that makes sense. The size of that basket all done in paper though is amazing. Imagine the time and labour in that! Another great day of thrifting Nateesha! Thank you!

That couple on a plate are Queen Silvia and King Carl of Sweden. Silvia is born in Heidelberg, Germany. And they were married 10th of June 1976.

I think that green stuff in the double wooden candle stick is a puddy like substance that holds the candles straight and tight.

I really enjoy your videos. Love the Canadian content. I have a covered basket that is a match to your bowl made from rolled magazine pages. Thought you might be interested to know that I bought it at a Winners/HomeSense several years ago. Maybe 10 years or so? So not quite vintage, but halfway there.

Thank you so much! 🤗That’s good to know! I didn’t think it was vintage, wasn’t really sure. I did find websites online that show how to make them. I just thought it was a interesting piece.

@@eclecticvintagethrifter I looked in my basket after my last comment and the original tag was still there. No date but the label said Hand Crafted in Indonesia. So definitely produced for the market. (Also found a stunning bracelet in there that I have no memory of buying!)

We made paper chains from gum wrappers, newspaper usually the comic sections and magazines all the time when I was a kid. Then you could make all kinds of cool things including baskets. We have an artist in town who does this and sells his work in our community. Beautiful things! Your thrift prices are so low it is almost surreal!

Oh wow!! I remember making paper chains from gum wrappers. I had some real long ones. While on the subject of old things we did as a kid or a teen, I received these crazy chain letters. You were supposed to send 5 or 10 coipies of the letter to 10 people or else something bad would happen to you! To think I was so gullible and sent out all the required copies. 😯

I am 68 and have been wanting to make the gum wrapper chains I made as a kid with my granddaughter, but don’t hardly chew gum anymore. I called the gum manufacturers to see if they would just sell me some wrappers, but they said no. I wish there was a kit to buy for making those chains, I loved making them.
