- This week we follow Chris Dalton as he stalks through the ancient oak woods of Hertfordshire. After a frustrating start, along with a very careful stalk into a hare, he finally finds a young muntjac doe feeding amongst the brambles. Then Mark Ripley takes a look at a range of popular moderators on the market and explains what to look for when buying a new moderator. You can find Mark's full report on shootinguk.co.uk

It's not a firs time when I see shooter try different moderator s, but have no noise level meter. Hopefully next time you're using that to have numbers to compare
You are so lucky that you are able to have and use a moderator. Here in Australia they are completely banned except for a primary producer or an accredited pest controller. According to our politicans they are deadly dangerous things and have no place in society. The people who make these laws have been watching many movies where the sound of a firearm fitted with a moderator make a pff sound. Getting caught with a moderator will incur 5 years jail time and loss of firearms and licence.
Sad for you, we get them here for sensitive area's and obviously Heath and Safety but for great for reducing recoil, but they are on our licenses we have to apply like the rifle itself
The health and safety executive in the UK recommends the use of a mod, I have them on all of my rifles other than my 5.56 that isn’t cut, I rarely use that gun. As for the Australian governments choice not to allow mods, that’s stupid, it’s a moderator not a silencer, it still goes bang, it cuts out the harmful supersonic crack.
jesus christ Jimmy was hard work to watch ….. that aside , cracking episode 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Generally about titanium, they use it in some sports car for exhaust, but they don't show you that over time with too much heat it starting to crack and break.
Always go with steal, best termal flexing between aliminium and titanium.
Ihave a titanium mod on 243 sako 75 no problem i spoke to tool maker friend of mine who work in the aircraft industry who make them with the right tooling
Lets face it, any of these moderators are better than none ! We can all remember shooting Foxes at night without one and the whole neighbourhood knew you were out 🙉 ! I can imagine that one day the Americans will be able to buy them as easy as we Brits can😂🏴
They have just changed the law in relation to suppressors👍
@@20ppc Hi, my Cousin is a hunter who stays in North Carolina and he just emailed me to say as far as he knows nothing has changed ? Maybe another viewer could confirm this🤔
@@johnballantyne6853 It’s my understanding that the Supreme Court has overturned the ATF stance on suppressors www.ca5.uscourts.gov/opinions/pub/23/23-10718-CV0.pdf
Hi Chris is it true you will be helping adjudicate the sniper shootout with Mat and Mark?
What rifle, weight and calibre are you shooting
Chris videos are a delight to watch but TOO short
What you said about removing the moderator from the rifle after use I’ve not heard of this before should I remove it when I get home from a shooting session
I should have used a moderator years ago but they weren't really the thing in the 80's only on the humble 22lr, I use them now, but not really sure I could hear the difference between them too late I reckon.
Where in Herts are you? I used to live there. North/ East Herts had loads of deer
clearly a neglected moderator. Roedale makes one of the finest ones out there.
Best ASMR hunting videos in YT…😊
another great show 👍
