I love seeing your rifle builds on our A.C.E Tripod shooting as accurate as they do! The stability I try to produce in our tripod vs a bipod I believe is 2nd to only a leadsled, as a bipod can deploy quicker for competition but the rear buttstock sway cannot be eliminated without a pillow, we use the trusted 360° ballhead on our tripod which works best for prone and bench shooting, panning and eliminating rear sway in any environment. Keep these beautiful builds up brother🍻👊
I love the limited tooling you make work to make quality parts. Your not afraid to put it out there because you know it's quality work. Keep it up man.
Your making rifles that are not as accurate as they should have been from the factory into rifles that are competitive in the toughest competitions.... Great job Kenny!!
Awesome Gunsmithing work Kenny . I can only imagine the sort of work you would be doing if you had the type of lathes that Gavintoobe has . Gavin if you’re watching this and you are getting rid of any of your lathes sell them to Kenny at a discounted price lol . I think I might be correct in saying that no one in the country is doing what you do with the Begara B14 22Lr rimfire actions .
Interesting..... I have the B14R Carbon and I have been thinking about rebarreling. I have been shooting NRL matches since last summer. Now after shooting a couple of ARA benchrest matches last couple months, I think a longer, heavier and better quality barrel is needed. Your videos are great and I look foreward to more precision rimfire stuff. Thanks for sharing you skills and knowledge on rifle work.
Exactly the outcome I expected. However I didn't expect that first Krieger barrel to be so warped! LOL I can see it now: Memo goes out from Bergara management: "There is a mandatory meeing today at 1300 of all production department heads and supervisors to view a video. Popcorn will NOT be provided."
I've been threading that way for years, even for standard threads. I advance the cut using the "Inching" button instead of the lever switch. On my lathe, it did the same thing as the forward switch, it just didn't latch. I back the X axis out at the end of the cut. I've zeroed the cross slide on the DRO, so it's easy to get back to the same location. Would love to see how it compare to the Rim-X at longer distances: 100, 150 and 200 yards.
Yea at work with a brake I will hit the break and stop the lathe. Leaving the half nut engaged. Basically the same but a little more easy with a brake.
@@EagleEyeShooting You wouldn't assume lack of knowledge since alot of the gunsmiths or riflesmiths I have ran across are very good at what they do. Must not want to work outside the norm I guess.
Now I have to decide on you building me a RimX or a Bergara. I'm looking forward to you playing with the CZ 457. I want to see what you get out of it over what I got out of mine by shimming the bolt and gluing the factory MTR barrel into the action. Honestly, I would rather have you do a barrel because then I would know the action is square and true, the headspace is right, the barrel is timed correctly, and I really like how you make sure the bullet is getting into the rifling. None of my 22LR barrels do that. My CZ MTR barrel gets into the lead a bit, but that's it.
Fantastic work man, seriously impressive work! I'm considering a B14-R purchase and I was wondering if there's anything you think could be done to smooth the bolt throw weight when lowering or raising the handle?
Awesome work! I’m looking at doing a barrel on my b14R right now. Been contemplating a helicoil set up and threading the “stub” standard. Just worried about rigidity
Ive seen someone post that on a form. IMO, its more work just to circumvent having to change your lathe gear set and also will be difficult to keep aligned to the bolt race way. Assuming the plans where to use the original barrel as a stub
@@EagleEyeShooting I actually didn’t even think about using the original, got a buddy with access to cnc so I was just gonna have home turn me the M27x3 stub and then I’d bore it to whatever I decided on. But now looking at trying a die. My old clausing doesn’t have a metric bone in its body lol
@Eagle Eye Shooting What is the Make/Model of the tripod front rest you have installed on the Bergara B14R action with the Krieger barrel installed on it?
Great job sir I wish I could afford one , to much inflation and toys in the attic that I don’t have time to get them all out every year , sad problem I know
Are you looking in the future to re-barrel CZ's? I have a CZ 457 MTR that for a year I have tried lot after lot & found nothing it could shoot less then .4 @ 50 yrds. I watch Josh shoot his CZ re-barreled with a Lilja & was thinking about going that route. Great Video, love your Craftmanship! But what would you suggest?
Hey this is Patrick I am from Oklahoma I have just recently subscribed to your channel I have a new in the box Begara B14 R I would like to know how to get a hold of you and the cost of re-barreling in building me a top-notch rifle
You lathe should have a gear set and chart to convert to metric sometimes listed in your manual. As a note, surface speeds will change, so you'll have to find what combo works best for good surface finishes
Right on. I guess I've been blocking 🚫 out all metrics. I'm going to have to take the red 💊. I've tooled up to do Remington 700 action. I need to expand my horizons. I'm waiting on a barrel blank to rebarrel my AR-10 after watching your video...
Kenny, can you build some .17 rimfire rifles and show them on the channel? I’m curious how they will shoot in comparison to the 22lr with the best ammo. My experience with .17 hmr rifle completely reworked by a gunsmith has been very inconsistent and frustrating. I’m wanting you to build me a rimfire but am struggling with caliber.
I want to know if you can build me that exact same gun, I have the money what would you need down to start? And roughly how long? I do have a barreled action rem.. 40x would it be possible to pull the barrel and use your barrel to rebarrel. Please let me know if you’re interested in building on for me. Thank You. Ron
Awesome build. Can I ask what you tension you used for the action screws? Was it at a set rate, or did you have to tweak them? Great video and no doubt you will get a few of these flying out the door.
@pursuit of Accuracy, I've seen some test and tried myself. I just havnt sat down and actually seen a difference. 22's are just frustrating as all get out... how did I end up here haha
Love the quality of the work you do. I’ve got a TH-cam video for you to watch if you have time. It is a process that I have used a few times in the past on some very close relief lathe work. It helps cut the pucker factor to zero and allows you to run your spindle faster. It’s a little unconventional looking but it works. Check out Joe Pieczynski video “Threading on a manual lathe Best technique ever”
Thanks Bill! Yeah that is definitely one of the best ways to thread. You can see how I do that here; th-cam.com/video/fG0aVfbrRUU/w-d-xo.html scroll to 1:30 Being limited to the lathes ability does hinder more tedious time consumption processes. Will be upgrading to a Hardringe soon
Awesome series man !!! Best Sh!t I’ve seen on TH-cam one while !!!!!
not a bad shot ,for a good builder

Appreciate it. Working on getting a Babin / Hardringe TML-5Cnc. Itll make quick work for stuff like this with cnc ability for better surface finishes

Looks like the center X could benefit from a barrel tuner? Have you thought about a small surface grinder with a magnetic vise to true up recoil lugs?
Love it...good work.
Liked for using a Manson reamer even for just a .22
Very nice lathe work!
Could you provide a link to the router endmill toolholder attachment?

Man great job! I’m still hoping after my vacation I’m buying a rim x action and would definitely like to send it to you for building!
I wouldn’t mind that at all , love heavy barrels definitely depends on the price point , take visa?
Would like to see you take a stock 10/22 and work your magic. I'm curious how much difference there would be in a semi auto and a bolt.
Will you be able to get some left hand B14,s ?

What tripod were you using?
what tripod are you using? thank you for shearing with us
Great video! Love to see cost input for rebarrel B14r vs. Rimx . I have a feeling your about to generate lots of customers

How much do you charge to turn a b14r barrel?
What’s the price for that barrel and installation, asking for a friend 😂, IBI out DP barrel in

17 hmr is hard to find. I personally wouldn't want to chase that caliber when 22lr is readily available
