I know this is an old video, but just watched for the first time and saddens to hear that Jeff's mother died when he was 9. I was diagnosed in 82 and thankfully after a bumpy first fe years live an 'almost' normal life. Keep spreading the word everyone. XX
I'm 64 and have had Crohns since 1988. So pleased there is more support out there for this most uncomfortable disease. I was extremely ill in 1995 and had to have part of my small bowel removed. It did the trick but I still have all the old symptoms of pain and anxiety and find it difficult sometimes when I go out, as the first thing I look for is where the loo's are!If I could have one wish that would be to have one week with no pain or discomfort, it would be bliss!!
These are very good words.... Unfortunately the attitude to IBD patients in my country is far from the support i feel from this video... I have had UC for more than 12 years... And I should say it's the best treatment when you see that you are not alone. Thank you.
Hello jeff your video is very encouraging supporting & uplifting as i have been dealing with UC now for 9 years with veritys of treatments & steriods thank you!! so much for sharing as an actor its very brave of you I never miss an Emmerdales drama always been a big fan!
I absolutely adore Jeff , he is such a lovely person and actor , I had no idea he had Crohns disease , its true its not a nice thing to have because a lot of people suffer a lot of pain , I dont have it but I feel so sorry for the ones that do and my heart goes to Jeff and obviously has to be careful what he eats and takes tablets for this condition . But saying that Jeff is also a heart throb a gorges looking man , my family and I all love Jeff and I am a true Emmerdale fan and get so upset if a miss an episode and Emmerdale would not e the same with out our wonderful bad boy Cain . Loads of love to u Jeff from Karina . Xx
Dear Jeff, I have my major surgery for my Crohn's Disease in fortnight from today on Thursday 21.09.23 at 7.15am by Phil Tozer and the St Mark's Surgical Team. I am so pleased to know you are Ambassador for Crohn's & Colitis who I am a member of. I'm having a total completion Proctectomy followed by surgery on parts of my Small intestine, first removal of my ileum strictures and fistula and 15cm of Crohn's disease. I'm having a Barbie Bottom. I am to remain on 40mg of Adalimumab. Just wanted to introduce myself. I enjoy watching you and love your channel. I have liked and subscribed. Just hoping everything goes well on the big day. Best wishes, Rajeev.
I am a visitor in the UK, and got a flare-up. I wanted to contact someone for guidance and am happy to volunteer for the cause of helping people with Crohns and UC.
My son was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at the age of seven, i was devastated to say the least. But despite having lack of knowledge of this disability i swapped my sons diet and the experts found a medication in the nick of time which has given my son some form of normality for now. Sadly he has to go on a drip every 8 weeks but he is managing. Thanks to the likes of Jeff Hordley who are an inspiration to my son, as like i say we were very alone when he diagnosed but finding other people who know and help others with this condition is a god send.
Thank you for helping to raise awareness of crohn's and colitis, and letting people know that it's okay to talk about it! Our 8 yr old son, Euan, got diagnosed in July 2008.exactly 4 years to the day he has undergone emergency surgery to remove his large bowel. We're all adjusting to life with his new stoma & enjoying watching our son recover & become the fit little boy he's always wanted to be. He's stil got a lot of weight to gain but he already has a bigger smile than we have seen in 4 yrs
Ime I have colitis but no present symptoms. I can't believe what people have to go through. It's life changing. But it's re assuring to know everybody can deal with these things knowing we're not alone
Very inspiring interview. I would love to get involved in charity based cycle rides for the society that supports me and others with Crohns and Colitis.
He seems like a wonderful ambassador...I still can not understand why the NHS can not afford the equipment and research needed for this and so many other things so desperately needed...bad management.
@@carolannetitmus8878 yes you are so right we need to some these "health tourists" coming here and taking the piss with it shouldn't be a free for all for every tom, dick and harry
I had a cancerous tumour removed in dec 2016 and have since been left with microscopic colitis medication hasn't helped so far been on the loo everyday 4/5 a day just awful
I have Crohn-s... MO fun! I have already joimed CC.UK I am now away from the UK for the moment, Shelter in place in the States. I am trying to get a flight back asap and it is not easy! Upon my return I wish to volunteer my assistance to C&C.UK. I have had Crohn-s since I was ten, thus This shall be my seventh year.

What a man! Never knew this about him.
Him and his wife seem like really nice down to earth people. No scandals no drama just happy with kids and allotments.

He seems to be a really nice person in real life to be honest.
Robert. Actually that is the reason why Cain is actually likeable to be honest.
@@susanjewitt8783 Yes alot of the real Jeff in the calmer version of Cain
