I started dancing ballroom three years ago and this is by far the greatest video I have ever found discussing technique and how to take steps!!! The spot turn and point about not bringing your foot in on the side steps really helped! Thank you so much
Thank you Kyryl! There is great! You are right: "It depends how our weight flows!" = "The person who has mastery of his relation to the WEIGHT factor of effort has INTENTION, and he has DECISION when he is adjusted the TIME." (Rudolf Laban)
We admire how champions dance but have nonidea of how they produce the attractive movements. Kyryl you have given us an analysis of how that is done. Thank you. Always enjoy and benefit from your videos
As someone who has studied ballet for the past 50 years and am now trying latin dancing, my two worlds couldn't be further apart. Ballet; straight, turned- out legs, torso - pulled up, straight back,, toes always pointed... Latin; relaxed muscles - torso - so different , -moving the foot, often from side to side, and a "beveled" ankle. No turnout - Whew! It's a lot. But you are REALLY helping me to figure it out. (I've watched the videos several times.) Thank You so much.
Dear Lori, thank you kindly for your time and attention, I am glad my videos are being helpful. Indeed, it is not easy to switch from ballet, as it is absolutely beautiful but a bit more restrictive than other dance styles. However, your experience and coordination will definitely help in adding a bit more freedom, looseness and rhythm. It is not about getting rid of old habits - more so gradually adding small elements of something else. It will change from inside. Thank you again for watching. Please don't hesitate to text directly with any comments or questions. Kyryl

Thank you kindly, Henry and Anna! Your attention and your heart means a world to me.
The best!! What my dance coach has been trying to teach me. Sometimes you need to hear it from another before it sinks in!
Love that! Thank you for sharing, Melissa. Glad it made sense and you can incorporate it within your own knowledge and practice.
