I could only imagine it looks incredible without having it in my hand I could just tell the first time I've came across this instrument not physically but in photos I was impressed
A really great bass but you,ve got to have a great touch to pull that sound out of it.. Very Well done Nick....I,m very inspired by that last piece at the end of the vid..Thanks!!
Hello Nick! Your selection of the bass is in good taste! That thin piece of wood between the body layers is for better bonding of the wood. Particularly with a neck joint. If you would use say a quarter inch or more, the bond could fail. I'm not supposed to know these things ofcourse. Enjoy your music!
I've seen this done before with the fretboard continuing through/over the body, by a custom luthier. The pickup was under the fretboard but the board was still cut/sectioned in regards to the pickup, yet flush. Don't remember who it was. Someone had it made and posted pictures.
Gorgeous piece of furniture ;) The sound is quite similar to a Music Man StingRay in fact (I play a fretless MMSR as my primary instrument), I reckon that's due to the pickup's position.
Fantastic bass, looks and sounds incredible! Promenade Music is a great shop, it would be great if you could pick out some good pedals as I'm a bit lost as where to even start when it comes to them! Loved seeing you at Dent the other weekend, keep up the good work!
+Ewan Gilliat Thanks Ewan! I've been a customer at Promenade ever since I started playing the bass so it's really exciting to be working with them in this way. Fear not! There shall be demos of pedals and stuff too, not just instruments! And I'm glad you enjoyed the set at Dent - what a good night!
I'm sorry, they sold the bass! Head to marleaux-bass.de and send them an email - I'm sure they could tell you some shops where they have Divas in stock. Or hey, you can ask them to make you one! 😀
Yeah. But you know I'm sorta joking around too ;) Seriously speaking now, I think that modern guitar sounds have always been on pop music. Listen to the JB track and tell me that its not a guitar with some sort of digital effect you may have used before!
Haha yea no worries I could tell there was a tongue-in-cheek tone to what you wrote! :D And you're right - pop music & guitars have pretty much always gone hand-in-hand, regardless of other instruments that have become incorporated over the years!
Mahogany is not heavy usually. Maple is. Why do bass players whack the strings on a rest note. So many players do this. It’s really annoying to other guys in the band and recording producers. It sounds awful. This guy is obviously a very good player but please stop doing that really bad habit.
Do you think? I guess it comes down to your own taste. Personally I think it's a work of art! Not sure I'd ever dare take it to a gig if I had one. 😅😅😅
My DIY debut album 'NICKO_1' is OUT NOW!
It would mean the world to me if you gave it a spin. Thank you.

Just seeing this in 2022, but so happy to hear an in-tune, musical fretless demo on TH-cam. Beautiful instrument, played beautifully, thank you!
Mate. Thank *you!*
I can't believe I said it has an active preamp when I knew fully well it is passive! Sorry folks! It's my first day! 🤓
BedroomBassist That makes me love it even more... I'm not a fan of electronics in instruments...
gorgeous bass....absolutely love it
Tune Space Bass - 3 octave fretless
great demo!
I could only imagine it looks incredible without having it in my hand I could just tell the first time I've came across this instrument not physically but in photos I was impressed
Luv your percussive playing at the end with reverb....THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION
Thanks for the kind words! This bass is very inspiring to play...

this base has a lot of energy and very smart using passive single pickup you can't go wrong it's simple
+Charles Lambiase It's absolutely incredible 🤤
Fantastic handcraft!

Hey that's interesting, thanks! I never knew.

Sounds perfect
+Shine_Spiked ? It's rather nice 😅
Love it!!!!

Just bought one direct from Gerald Marleaux, truly beautiful instruments!
+jjmf48 Congratulations! You will cherish it forever!!
Hey Cousin Nick, i enjoyed the review/demo. Just subscribed...
DELano. Just a fantastic sounding bass. Zon Hyperbass has that range of notes. Of course, only one human can play and USE all that range. Ha!

sounds just like a piano up near the end of the neck
That is a noice bass!!
+Paul T You're not wrong fella!
Amazing
I'm in love!
Hey! Thanks for the video!
I found zero sites where I could buy this bass....
the link you provided doesn't work((
I'm sorry, they sold the bass! Head to marleaux-bass.de and send them an email - I'm sure they could tell you some shops where they have Divas in stock. Or hey, you can ask them to make you one! 😀
Bridge?
Beautiful bass. Definitely a diva! I can’t afford her.
Do you guys ship to US?
Amazing bass & great Player = perfect Sound! If i wouldn't be that lousy fretless player.......
and the thing is that it's passive passive that's the whole thing passive
love yourself by Justin Bieber? xD By the way, nice bass mate ;)
Did I play something that sounds like that? Ahaha. Oops. But aye the bass is lovely!!

How many organs does that cost?:( you can have any you'd like
This bass costs £2500 I think... It's amazing though! Properly worth the money in my opinion.
Liam Tahaney no organs. just an arm and a leg
...and a couple a' kids or members of your family!!! :-D
@@helloitsnicko Wow, that's amazing. A Ritter would be much more expensive, by a factor of two or so, yes?
5 grand? No Thanks

The same melody on every bass...
+Иван Ермаков Sorry, but repeating the grooves on different basses is sometimes a good way to compare how they sound.
Иван Ермаков yeah, thats how you do comparisons mate
That's definitely not what I call amazing.
The sound is amazing!!! But.... is ugly!!!
