And if you're saying " he should've been taken another song" , this is calling taking a risk. For the moment he's the favourite contestant, and he knows it so he's could've been chosing something easy and play safe, but he chose to take a risk. That's respectable.

It was a mistake to give him a song that another (obviously more vocally talented) competitor already sang... its quite obvious which performance is the better one. :/
He did a good job, but choose a song that has been already sung on the show was not cool. But in the other hand, that can not take away his merit this week.
Yes, I was very surprised Nicole let him do the song when Saara's version is relatively fresh in everyone's head. You do NOT want people making direct comparisons between Matt and Saara because imo he loses that battle.

I think he does a good job every week, but he was at his best in the judges houses and the live weeks 1,2 and 4. He used to be more confident back then. Now I feel the pressure's taking over him, he's always shaky in the beginning and occassionally sings out of tune. No wonder though, the competition is crazy long and intense and it's getting harder. But still a shame!

I'm a fan of Matt's but oh man this was a really bad cover. Then again, I still kind of judge this song on Chloe Castro's version from The Voice UK. He was just a little off I guess.

When you use falsetto to reach high notes like most men have to do unless they are castrated at a young age or suffer from some sort of hormonal issues, you sacrifice some of the power behind your voice. He would not be able to sing as powerfully as this songs demands with his high notes, because his high notes as the name of the technique implies are in a way "false". To make my point. 2:50 you can actually hear how the voice becomes more impactful when he stops using falsetto and goes down to his real vocal range.
After the voice break no male sings falsetto. A trained male voice can ascend up to a high C and beyond in full voice. Yes, the voice must be lightened up there but even then you need to preserve the lower register so using a "mixed voice" is the correct way to sing the top register but never pure falsetto. You cannot express yourself with falsetto. You can't increase or decrease vocal tension = create musical drama. Terry's highest non-falsetto note to date at 3:53 (B) is not only flat but sounds plain awful and makes the listener's throat hurt. Look at his neck muscles. He's killing his vocal cords in front of the audience with red-face yelling. Nicole Scherzinger et al hear the problem but the judges won't say a thing.
you and those other who will give you thumb ups are so Saara fanatic... Listen to Saara's version again... Matt messed up in some notes, but his version is truly way better than Saara's!

He is starting to get boring! He is very predictable which is boring! ITs like he is manufactured with a baisc vocal/performer pack containing his simple 1 octave model voice, repetitive same fasetto runs, same facial expressions. HE isnt a bad singer but hes jsut very boring! he doesnt have anything that capitvates people! His tone is very generic.
