The Spirit in the Dust - performance highlights

THE SPIRIT IN THE DUST is a multi-media performance featuring the Japanese Butoh influenced dancer Yumino Seki. This innovative collaboration is based on an original concept and musical composition by Elaine Edwards with text by Ken Edwards and interactive projections and staging by Mark French.
"The Spirit is called into being from primordial dust by the music. She has to overcome her fear of the alien world she has entered, but gradually learns to enjoy her new-found mortal life. Growing in stature she invents her own version of human language, and uses it to become a powerful entity in her own right. At the same time the Spirit sows the seeds of her own destruction and everything fragments, before she finally enters the world of human beings, and comes to terms with Death itself."
