@@ivokoimecs yes
Just want to be sure but this place is a part of Val thorens right?
Same region, but different ski resort, not connected.
@@ivokoimecs thank you
What I would give to bomb down there looks like a nice chill run
Well done👍👍
Thank you 👍
@@ivokoimecs you're welcome
I'm in this video!!!! Lol I'm the one in the slalom suit :)
Congrats, you are famous now! ... 😀 👍
Ivo Koimecs thank you 😊
Nice run , one of my favourites in espace killy , ON A SNOWBOARD!!! Even when it's moguls .. . .
Shame you felt the need to put music on recording.
OK, got it, no more music. Check the description, there is a version without music, just pure natural sound of skiing! ... :)
A good run nicely filmed, however the Steepest?
Yep! ... 😀👍
It doesn't look steep on camera but it is steep, anyone telling you it's not steep has never done the Face.
Epic!
What program do you use in making and editing your ski videos?
DR
@@ivokoimecs what that stands for?
@@sidski2021 Davinci Resolve.
@@ivokoimecs thank you very much.
Please visit California. Lake Tahoe has awesome ski resorts to offer.
I don't see why that's difficult - it may be, sometimes, a bit steeper, but hey.... it is a) perfectly groomed and b) ultra-extra wide.
Now imagine that same "steepness" but on a 9...10 meters wide run, full of icy patches !
I am not a pro, far from it, but still I have managed to hold my own on those narrow runs, bordered by firs on both sides.
I find this run in Val d'Isere a pleasure cruise, really.
All groomers are chill
Video definitely makes it feel less steep. Conditions are just perfect as you said: nicely groomed and no ice. Most of the time it's not! Lots of people, moggles and very icy sections. You very often see people missing a turn and sliding down till the end!
Le Face isn’t that steep - it’s a nice run and best to do in the morning
Then you've never been on it. La Face is very steep but it is wide.
Yes it is steep somewhere between 45 and 70 degrees and no, best not to do it in the morning because of the ice.
Easy in the morning, very difficult at day’s end with bumps and ice ,that’s all.
@@valvoisin1449 Yes, it's generally accepted that the gradient of La Face (the lower part) varies between 45 and 70 degrees. Whilst i've ridden it several times,I haven't physically surveyed it but if you google La Face you'll find several websites supporting my statement.
For your info, 0 degrees is horizontal.
Man. How often do you just want to say screw it and full send. Those slopes look inviting to just take off.
Face, Sache, Fornet - I miss you 😢🎿
The absence of moguls must have made it a sheer delight.
God I wish I was there now 🙌. I've always chickened out of this piste 🤣
It's actually steeper than may look on the video, be prepared and good luck! ... :)
@@ivokoimecs yes the video doesn't do it justice. I've stood at the bottom before, looked up and said "Nope" 🤣
It's pretty steep all the way down, but like any slope it's dependent on the weather, snow and people. Freshly pisted on a sunny day without many people (before about 11:00) it's fantastic. Later in the day when it's been heavily skied and when it's cloudy it's a very different story.
Сhanceux ... :)
that looks like a green run
:)
My thoughts exactly
Yeah they often use green runs for the Olympic downhill skiing events
@@edkes123 if you can even ski, next time you're on a blue run point your skis straight down hill and don't turn. You too will be traveling at 60-70mph.
@@johnnicholson8345 I do ski, I have done for quite a long time. I've also skied La Face many times, and it couldn't be further from a green run. I don't really understand your point.
nothing like it first thing in the morning
Shows how deceptive footage from GoPros can be - that looked easy. But of course, if you'd had a few crews filming from the sides of the piste then it'd be another story.
Nice video (apart from that 'music') - thanks.
OK, got it, no more music. Check the description, there is a version without music, just pure natural sound of skiing! ... :)
nice video, great landscape. I'm not sure about the music edit. It doesn't suit the chill video
Thanks! This piste definitely is not a chill ... :) But check the description, there is a surprise for you ... 😀👍
When you go on the 69% Blak Maba in Kaprun, this looks easy ☺☺😊😊
Try the Hara kiri in Mayrhofen... 78% gradient! Makes the 69% Blak Maba in Kaprun look easy..!
@@shockingmoment 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I wil try it, when we can go and travel. For the moment it's not posible. Thanks for the tip.
@@shockingmoment He is some shocking truth; there are no "hard" slopes. An intermediate skier can go down ANY slope, it's just a matter of pace and style.
30 years ago this run could be a little challenging at times but now they widened it and flattened most of the bumps it's lost all its character.
I did it last year and yes it is long run and probably not for beginners, however for experience skiers it is quite an easy run... I can tell is not that steep because it is groomed, really steep and difficult runs cannot be groomed
As skied by Darth Vader. May the slope be with you Luke.
Is that a black run...??
Yes, very very dark black! ... 😀
@@ivokoimecs from the video doesn't look like but ski maps say so, will trust you...
I have got the Swiss Wall in mind when it comes to real black runs 🔝
No. Not by a long shot. There is no black run I've ever seen you could slalom down with such narrow turns.
@@johnnicholson8345 last i checked you can tell a run is black by the fact that the resort had labeled it with a black in the shape of a diamond. It's crazy how that works
@@lorenzogiuntini1444 The Swiss Wall is not pisted, where as the Face has winches for the pisteurs so that the whole run is pisted. The Face is used as a World cup slalom run in December and the run is heavily watered to make it very icy, In certain conditions throughout January/February you are likely to suddenly hit a very icy part of the slope. I have skied the Face many times, first thing in the morning it is a lovely run but I have known reasonably good skiers lose their confidence due to how icy it can be.
Nice and wide, if it gets too scary just turn sideways and ski across the slope and take it slow.
Exactly! ... :)
easier said than done! this shit is very steep, video does not pay its respects to the piste
I did it before on snowboard
This is all the skiing I'll be doing this year!!!!!!!!!!!!Yeah, the music is silly. Too many big slow turns on the last steep.
Yea, I was looking for better grip in between ice patches. It was a bit icy in the morning.
OK, got it, no more music. Check the description, there is a version without music, just pure natural sound of skiing! ... :)
steepest?
Yep! ... 😀👍
Great video however it definitely steeper in real life 😂👍
If he's correct in saying the average slope is 33% that would be a blue run. Steep runs are over 30 degrees which is much, much steeper. basically a real steep slope you wouldn't be slaloming down but rather hop turns.
Seems you are confusing percentages with degrees, as well as average and maximum slopes. Typical blue run has about 15% avg and 35% max slope.
My point is the video is great, and that I’ve skied down that slope numerous times and it is steep regardless of degrees 👍
Definitively not a blue run.... I made it several times with very different weather, and I recall each run ( I made thousands I do not recall....).
Not the steepest or hardest run in the resort. Try Foret up at Le Fornet
This is the run you do at the end of the day when your legs are done and your coming down off the slopes for the day. Otherwise a snooze fest….
Not the steepest slope in Val d’Isere. Foret is steeper and more narrow, unpisted and tough
What was that? Your title says the steepest piste, but you just cruised an easy groomer? Don’t get it.
The top section is not steep but the whole run is labelled "black" as there's only 1 route. There are some fairly steep sections in the middle and near the bottom that are much steeper than it looks on camera.
I like the video but my ears are bleeding from the music.
Check the description, there is a version without music. Enjoy! ... :)
4.00 - guess who has been skipping legs day in the gym?! 😉
On a ski resort every day is a legs day ... 😀👍
If that's the steepest then the whole resort must be for beginners!
You know not of what you speak. Go give it a try!
The camera doesnt really show how steep a slope is
