White dishes are so versatile. I like looking for those when thrifting too. You picked up some wonderful pieces. 😊 God bless

I thrifted a creamy white tea pot that I just love. From my grandma I also got some white pieces marked Finlandia. A few small serving bowls. I never seem to luck into any Pfaltzgraff. That’s okay though. 😊

Hello Sarah and family! THRIFTING IS MY JAM! It is def my weakness; they just do not make things like they use too or what you can find looking for treasures. ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND! STTB

Always happy to meet another “Kindred Spirit!” Maybe we should start a club, “Thrifting Is Our Jam.” ☺️

Sarah, I love all your finds! I have a weak spot for white platters as well! And, I agree with the keeping inventory so you don't have what doesn't serve you well. I love the drawer too, I have a sewing drawer in my livingroom ❤

Loved all your finds - they're exactly the same things I'd have picked up myself. And so I'm jealous! 😂
Worcester is pronounced "Wuss-ter" (making Worcestershire sauce pronounced "Wuss-ter-sheer" sauce). I promise I'm not a grammar police type - I just got the impression that you really wondered how to pronounce it. No offense intended. 😊
I don't know if you noticed it, but there was a matching piece - a round, covered, casserole dish next to the one you picked up, just behind the mustache cup. Maybe you didn't want another piece or that one didn't suit your needs. I think the lid that was sitting in the piece you bought was also part of that set (it appears to have the same braid or rope design along the edge) and belonged with a larger soup tureen. I wonder if it was there, somewhere, hiding! Either way, I LOVE the piece you grabbed! I think it's such a versatile piece! Heck, you could even use it as a punch bowl if you ever needed one. Chips, corn on the cob, fruit salad, macaroni or potato salad, banana pudding (the homemade kind with meringue on top!), berry cobblers, soups and stews, taco salad...the list is endless. Did I say I was jealous? 😂
I also love the platters you picked up, especially the Royal Worcester. I, too, use white for my everyday dishes and my pattern is very close to that, though very modern. It's Antique White by Mikasa and is the china version of their French Countryside stoneware. I needed something lighter in weight I could lift easily into my upper cabinets.
Your WS George platter is the Bolero pattern and was made in the 1940s and 50s. It was made in plain white, but more commonly made with various patterns in the centers. I used to collect WS George Pinecone pattern on the Bolero shape. (I'm incorrigible and have a history of weakness for vintage dinnerware and China and depression glass).
I also love silver. I grew up with silver pieces always used for every holiday and often just for Sunday dinners that my mother decided were special - either because of guests, birthdays, or she just decided to make a bigger meal and something special. When I got stuck, I'd buy a piece of silver hollowware for my parents for a gift when I was in my teens and early 20s. I still love silver and have trouble containing myself with them practically giving it away (silver plate, anyway) because it's out of fashion. I want to snap up allll the pieces since they're so cheap. Keep your eyes peeled - they often miss the markings of sterling and price it like plate and that's a great bargain!
Sorry I'm babbling - as you can see, I truly did like your haul!! 😂😂

Thank you for the info on the WS George platter. I’ve seen that name before, but haven’t researched it. 😊
