I think when I retire from teaching and playing out I’m going to head out there again to visit some of these cool places! Keep up the great work on your show!!!!
@@JimFothergill Right on....
Wanted to add that we walked the Santa Monica Venice portion of the tour and it took about 3 hours. I would recommend riding a bike for this portion. Lots of bike rentals and dedicated bike paths at the beach.
Much appreciated!
Hmm, locals see nothing in walking from the Marina all the way through Venice Beach into Santa Monica Pier. It’s really not that long a stroll.
A fabulous insight into the history of my favorite group of all time . Been to most of Santa Monica and Venice beach locations but you filled in the ones I've not visited so thanks for the tour. Stay safe. Rog. Pacific sunset records
Thank you , Rog. Peace to you.
@@RockessentialTim likewise. Stay safe. Rog. Pacific sunset records.
As a big Jim Morrison/Doors fan and a fan of that time thank you for showing where these things happened. Much love from Australia. I've always wanted to go to the places they were in but to see it this way is amazing.
If you ever make it here make sure you have a drink at Barney's Beanery. Doors fan or not, its a really cool little piece of LA history.
@@RockessentialTim thanks so much. I've heard of Barney's and you can't beat having the original building etc. Really appreciated your video. Good to meet a fellow Doors fan.
Great stuff. Thank you!
Right on, thanks!
Great video. Thanks for sharing this bit of history for us Doors fans
Right on, thanks!
Wow!!! Really enjoyed this man. I grew up in San Bernardino and LA County’s and spent lots of time along the coast and Hollywood. Even been to the Whisky back in the early 90s. The Doors have been in my top 3 of bands since I was in Jr High. This is the best Doors locations video I have seen. Whenever I get a chance to go back home (and Cali opens up again) I’m gonna check these places out. Crazy about Pam’s diary. Thanks again!! You Rock!!!
Thank you! Yeah, I must say that its a pretty easy route to follow. If you do it I would suggest renting a bike for the Venice Beach/Santa Monica portion. Anyhow, keep on rockin' in the free world.
Thanks for this. As a Doors fan for the past 35 years, and living in the UK, I would never get the chance to see these places
Their music just never seems to get old, right?
@@RockessentialTim or less Haunting
This is The Doors archivist speaking. I personally really enjoyed this.
Coming from you that is high praise and it is much appreciated!
This is like visiting Jim & talking to him during his living day
thank you for this great video.....
It was my absolute pleasure to make it. Thank you.
Thanks for posting this beautiful
Thank you. I love Jim and The Doors.
This was absolutely amazing. Thank you for doing all of this work.
It was the best time I had all year! Thanks for watching.
had to subscribe...bought the last two albums before Jim passed
I'm glad you subscribed! LA Woman is still my favorite Doors album.
@@RockessentialTim great great..love it to no end..the soft parade is my fav
Right on. That one took a little while to grow on me but now I love it. Its a really deep record.
A great video 👍🏻🇬🇧👏👏
Thank you for creating this beautiful video testament. Should be turned into a feature-length movie with Doors music background & Doors member recollections. Would enjoy seeing the view from that rooftop apartment that Jim occupied. I'd definitely pay to see & experience that. Tack on some early life Florida sites and final Paris scenes to document more of this exceptional life that affected so many of us.
Absolutely. The Paris part is on my bucket list!
As I truly know the hard work that goes into these type of docs, it is always good to let you know, it is well appreciated all that work, time, music, editing and scripting and oh the planning. Folks think you just think this up and just go do it very easily. Nope!!! Spent 80-100 hours so far on my LIB doc. I need to get to Barney's when I get back there. It is hard to imagine what it must have been like to be in L.A. in Venice / SM and squat and live day to day like JM did and what the real moment's vibe was like. cheers steve
great tour/video....really enjoyed it over coffee in bed and just wanted to say thanks for putting that one together
Awesome, thank you!
This was awesome! Going to follow this tour on my 1st event trip to LA in the spring.
Thank you again. If you can, try to get a look at the Alta Cienega Motel room. We were able to slip the desk clerk 20 bucks for a few minutes. Totally worth it.
Hiking4Life I saw that one too. Pretty incredible
Hi Tim, this one is wonderful too. U didn't appear on my feed til last week. ( goofy algorithms !) I loved the Santa Monica area, just gorg! No wonder why the incomparable Dwight Yoakam lives here now and has for a long time. Great work, Tim
Peace and love
Thanks, same to you.
Great stuff. You need to run a Doors tour. I'd certainly sign up.
Es increíble ver esos lugares llenos de historia en la actualidad, gracias por el Video
Gracias y me alegro de que te haya gustado!
Awesome video with great coverage of Hollywood Doors history.
Has there ever been a more interesting guy than Morrison? Probably, but I'm at a loss to think of one...
