Although I was watching Days off and on (staying home from school) it wasn't until they introduced Stefano DiMera that I really started watching the show. Such a legendary character that will stay with the show through his portrait in the DiMera mansion. It's like McDonald Carey still doing the show's opening "Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives".
I’ve been watching Days since it’s inception... my Mom used to watch all the time and so when I came home from school I would get some milk and cookies, and watch with my Mom !!! Will never forget those days!!! I hope Mom is now watching from heaven..😢🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank You Joe & Stefano will always be one of if not my favourite villain on the show. He left me in awe of him but most of all he made me smile. He left us with his amazing work to look back on and we will always have that. This is beautiful tribute I love this. I miss him and love him so much. I remember that Stefano/Maggie scene at Tuscany! I can't remember exactly why, thinking it was related to the baby switch, but they needed the lab blown up to prevent DNA results? To make it appear as a random terrorist attack, Rolf devised three bombs and one ended up at Tuscany. Maggie was actually carrying it in a box when Stefano realized what it was. He threw it and covered her to the ground lol.

Also the several letters of kindness you wrote and sent to me. Never got the pleasure to meet you but your sever acts of kindness prove to me the kind sweet amazing person you were.
Oh no. I did not know that actor Joseph Mascolo has passed away. He was a fabulous actor. And time after time, when the writers would give him a new script where "Stefano" would "jump the shark" yet again, Joseph Mascolo would give an excellent, convincing performance. RIP

God I too Have So Many Memories Of Him, Too Many To Name, But The Best Memory that I have was How Kind, Gentle, Loving He is whenever He's with Little Children and Babies, I Remember an Episode Of Days when It was That Gas S/L, and Stefano was holing Steve and Kayla's Baby Boy Joey in His Arm, He was like a New Father holding His Newborn Son In His Arms, It Made me want to Jump Through the TV and Just Stand there Beside Him, And also Every-Time I get Mad, I just Think about That Moment and Smile. I remember when Joe Mascolo was On Soap Talk.
I remember that scene with Stefano and Maggie, not long before Joe left the show in 2001. Maggie ended up with a box with a bomb, Stefano tossed it and took her down to cover. Of course Stefano was behind the mayhem but didn't know the bomb would end up with Maggie.
Mum used to tape the show and watch it when she got home. Then I would get home from school and watch it with her. Probably around 1985-86. And even though I hadn’t watched it in years, when I heard he died, a part of my younger self died too. I tried to keep tabs on what was happening on the show through various girlfriends and even my then wife through the early 2000’s. I may be the only straight white male who could converse with a woman in her 40’s on Stefano and Roman and Marlena and Bo and Hope or Patch and Kayla from the 80’s. Anyways, good memories. RIP Joe.
It seems he got along better with the male actors ...I was shocked a bit to see that he and deidra were social and she never heard him speak in his natural voice?
