    Good breakdown Mark, I'm surprised you didn't show Guerrero's baserunning decision in the bottom of the 13th on second base. Schneider lined out (again) and Vlad was in-between running and staying and couldn't tag up because of it. Luckily it didn't end up mattering but our announcer Buck Martinez was really giving it to our guys for these immature mistakes we made that game.

    • @HudsonW1993
      @HudsonW1993 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The time difference between is negligible, its that close. When you account for the catchers movement to make the tag i imagine having to lean and try and swipe a guys arm sliding on the outside of the base path more than makes up for the time difference, not to mention its a much harder tag.

    The one thing that I know as someone who watches the jays just about every day is that vladdy's fundamentals are.... suspect... there have been half a dozen instances (three I believe in the last two games) where he just has not been there. But hey.. he hit 3 homers so I guess this works for him?

    the Blue Jays have been playing really sloppy baseball this year. And for a team that is struggling at the plate this is one of the reasons they are fighting for that last wildcard spot. I can't help but question whether this is poor coaching or something else.

    • @TreatzTMA

    First off remember all of the players in MLB are the 0.5 % who are good enough to get there. Are they then perfect? No and never will be as they are human and make mistakes. That is the beauty of it all.

  • @Nathan1LE
    @Nathan1LE 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Varsho didn't slide because he's moving a mile a minute, dude is going to get the home plate faster on his feet vs sliding. If he slid he would've also made a bigger target for a tag. The catcher could've got his foot before his hand reached the plate.

    I've noticed that elite defensive outfielders will always make the first step to the left or right. I think that's the biggest difference between an ok outfielder and a great one. If you feel comfortable moving left or right first, do that. Otherwise, it's best to take a step back.

    • @tchevrier

      a ball hit straight at you is the hardest to judge. Maybe that's why a step to the left or right helps

    Its so hard to get heads around to see dump plays by professional players 1-4 bullet points discussed here. All their years of training should make them at high level of baseball in MLB; with no out inning, you should go back to base touch and run. Dont just stand at home plate and watch 3rd base runner, etc.
