    Fact # 6...There is only one living Dwemer last in the universe. Yagrum Bagarn, who appeared in Morrowind. He was off exploring a plane of Oblivion when the Dweven race disappeared, so he was spared.

    • @isaiahuelmen7483
      @isaiahuelmen7483 8 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Educated people in Morrowind also believe that the Dwemer left onto a plane of existence where they would supposedly be gods.

      jonathan terry entirely plausible, considering what the ancient Nords did with Alduin the first time...pulled out the elder scroll in one hell of a "hail mary" and flung him forward in time. Their solution was "oh well, he's someone else's problem now". Considering the dwemer could actually access and comprehend the elder scrolls and the information within..it's very possible. One could also infer that, with that same access to the otherwise "forbidden" information, they could have discovered a means of ascension that didn't require nearly the amount of legwork that Talos had to put in.

    • @GoggleFoetus
      @GoggleFoetus 8 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      It still begs the question: Where (and possibly, when) are they now???

    • @rwberger6
      @rwberger6 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      They were erased from reality. The Chimer got a hold of their Heart of Lorkan and used it against them to erase the entire race from existence save for one guy who was in a daedric realm outside of nirn at the time.

    • @GoggleFoetus
      @GoggleFoetus 8 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      rwberger6 That doesn't explain why their civilisation is still evident though. I have a feeling that tale is actually a made up story within the lore to explain their disappearance.

    bad luck dwemer, most advanced people ever with super metal, is a low tier armor set

    • @namekman01
      @namekman01 8 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      yes, but its way better than other low tier, and ultra abundant. you cant arm an entire army with ebony, dragonbone, or daedric armor, but for the dwemer, dwarved metal is so common they use it for toilets, bowls, condoms (hehe, okay that last part is a joke, but could you imagine that as an armor piece)

    • @MellowDarkflower
      @MellowDarkflower 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      It's just gameplay mechanic. There honestly nothing in lore that says Dwemer equipment is better than Iron but weaker than Daedric and some such.

    • @barduk4
      @barduk4 8 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      MellowDarkflower elder scrolls games are fairly good at keeping lore and gameplay somewhat connected though

    • @MellowDarkflower
      @MellowDarkflower 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I get that, but Dwemer gear being better than something like Iron is just gameplay progression. It is low-tier armor in game, but there is nothing in lore that says it is better than something like Iron or Glass.

  • @arto6324
    @arto6324 8 ปีที่แล้ว +332

    How come dwarven armour is so under powered if it's near enough impossible to get the ore?

    • @birdmn9930
      @birdmn9930 8 ปีที่แล้ว +133

      Barry Bee Meme-son I think it goes that the armour you find in Dwarven ruins is aged and ruined, and the stuff you craft is shit because either the ingots are ruined or no person with no forge can replicate it

    • @kokichiouma297
      @kokichiouma297 8 ปีที่แล้ว +63

      because the higher tiers above that are both armors of the gods themselves theoretically and lorewise higher tiers then dwemer shouldn't not be able to be crafted with the exception being drangonbone the dwemer want to become a god and thats why they fucked up and disappeared forever deadra are gods they are above the dwemer and both armors ebony and deadric originated from the gods

    - Ancient caves and ruins in Earth:
    Find primitive tools, illegible writing, and drawings today people would consider drawn by a five-year old.
    -Ancient ruins in Northern Tamriel:
    Find godlike technology no other civilization could comprehend, fully-functional and sentient droids, and a scroll used to create the world.

    Fact number 6
    Dwemers even built their own deity - brass god, the walking tower, Numidium, however it was never found.
    Just to say, Dwemers built many gigantic constructs that can be found all over Tamriel, the most famous of these is the one Talos used against Altmers.

    • @OriginalyCrafted
      @OriginalyCrafted 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Mr.Vojtik They built only one, and that was Numidium and it definitely was found.

    • @moongirl786
      @moongirl786 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Dude, the construct Talos used against the Altmer WAS Numidium, he found it. It was also re-discovered in Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall by the main character, and you then have six options of what to do with it: activate it yourself, give it to the Blades, give it to the Orcs, give it to the Bretons, give it to Mannimarco, give it to the Underking.

    • @Nerazmus
      @Nerazmus 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope It was just giant construct.
      Nerevarine is currently on quest to find and destroy the real Numidium.

    • @OriginalyCrafted
      @OriginalyCrafted 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Mr.Vojtik No, that was the Numidium. The reason why so much shit went down in Daggerfall was because when Numidium was activated a dragon break occurred. If I remember correctly, Numidium is currently battling the Altmer in some kind of "time cacoon".

    • @Nerazmus
      @Nerazmus 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ian Alton Please no dragon break shit. It was never explained what it really does or how it works.

  • @Thesaurus_Rex
    @Thesaurus_Rex 8 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    A few little problems here and there. The Lexicons required knowledge of how to access their contents, seemingly a difficult and treacherous task. The only characters who accomplish this in Skyrim are Septimus Signis, who has spent a lifetime researching the Dwemer and how to use their machinations (and already insane when the player meets him), From-Deepest-Fathoms, who is driven insane by the knowledge within the Lexicon she finds, and the Dragonborn, who only gets a fraction of the metallurgical and combat techniques contained within by accident.
    It's also worth noting that Tonal Architects, such as Kagrenac, were extremely rare among the Dwemer, and greatly valued by their people due to their mastery of such a subtle art. However, the Dwemer had many extremely adept warriors and smiths, some of the most skilled of which were said to be capable of dodging barrages of spells while wearing a full suit of heavy armor. If the Dwemer were to ever return, it's unlikely that the peoples of Nirn would be able to stand against them, even after millennia of progress.
    However, the capabilities of Dwemer technology are still very impressive. Such as an automated device in Arkngthamz, which is capable of causing earthquakes on command.

    • @NomastiAfricanWarlord
      @NomastiAfricanWarlord 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If the Dwemer were to return, it's not like the people of Nirn are doomed.
      The Dwemer clashed with the Nords and Dunmner several times, and the races held their own against them, even sometimes conquering them.

    • @Thesaurus_Rex
      @Thesaurus_Rex 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Skyrim Guard It's suspected (though it has never been proven) that the Dwemer were only united in a military campaign once, which was the defense of Red Mountain. Since the Dwemer vanished for some reason early during that conflict, it's difficult to say what a united Dwemer military could accomplish. I don't recall ever finding anything describing a Dunmer victory over the Dwemer, and the Mer in general have a massive historical tendency to underestimate humans, to the advantage of the humans. However, they seem to be getting over that tendency, given the decisive victory that the Aldmeri Dominion had in the 4th Era War.

    • @DarkGrif
      @DarkGrif 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep in mind that they still made mistakes, especially when it came to their conquest of the Red Guard lands. But they are more calculative in how they are handling things now, forcing the humans to be at constant conflict with one another and waiting for when they are weakest.

      Imagine a war between the Dwemer and the snow giants from Akavir.That would be an awesome plot for an elders scrolls game

    • @adamgray1753
      @adamgray1753 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thesauras Rex, that's what I've thought about the Dwemer for a long time now. That's something I'd love for the central plot/storyline of Elder Scrolls VI to focus on - the return of the Dwemer and their conquest to dominate all life on Nirn. Of course this would have to take place within a century or two after the events of Skyrim, and actually be like ESO, but on the level of awesomeness that is Skyrim at a minimum.
      This way there wouldn't be a flimsy plotline that the player wouldn't give a crap about after a playthrough or two, but have certain possiblities. Such as the Empire would be on it's last leg by the time ES VI begins, Skyrim would still be in political turmoil due to the AD's political and cultural BS in Skyrim, and the player would possibly be partially tasked with eventually becoming the new Emperor if the player successfully united the remaining Empire forces, not only beat back the AD, but force them back where they came from, and even more importantly stop the Dwemer from not only taking over the world, but proving that the Empire is the new leader of Tamieral.

      Nathaniel Winchester I would like to see the Dwemer become the protagonists in another elder scrolls game for example, if TES6 was set in Hammerfell the story could revolve around the return of the Dwemer and finding out exactly what happened in the first place and after completing the story once, the Dwemer could become a playable race? Or perhaps there's a DLC where your character touches a lexicon and is transported into the body of an ancient Dwemer and the DLC is the story of that Dwemer's last days in Tamriel before the whole race ascended?

    Bonus Fact: The disappearance of the Dwemer is mysterious only in-lore. A little bit of digging allows anyone with an internet connection to figure out what happened to them. They all disappeared at once, as per Falmer knowledge, and it was when the Numidium was activated that this occurred, proof being that it's specified the last remaining Dwemer in Morrowind didn't go with the rest as he was not present for Numidium's activation.
    And we know they physically went somewhere, more like than not a plane of Oblivion.
    Thus far the only real mystery is how did it happen and where did they go, specifically. We've already got all the broad semantics, as told to us through various games.

    • @OriginalyCrafted
      @OriginalyCrafted 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Liam Powell It wasn't the activation of Numidium that made them disappear, it was the moment that Kagrenac used the tools on the Heart of Lorkhan. The most probable explanation would be that in his haste, he did so incorrectly and merged all of the dwemer into the oversoul of Numidium.

    • @magicalfungi3206
      @magicalfungi3206 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      that's something that has bothered me about TES series.... elves have this huge family tree... but humans are just humans. We have had just as many, and equally as varied, human species on this planet. You'd think they'd throw another human species in there, like the hobbits or (are giants human?) barbarian/neanderthal type...
      It would have been so much more interesting if they were the Dwemen, a lost species of humans that had advanced technology (essentially setting TES in the future, after humanity destroys itself and the elves are just mutants.... i guess...).

    • @magicalfungi3206
      @magicalfungi3206 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      liam duczek it just sounds like lore covering the ass of a short-sighted designer. People are often Human-centric. It's not just the TES series that does this, most fantasy rpgs do the same thing. Make humans the baseline for all stats and make them unique, while dozens of other races can be intermingled and switched around, the Human race is always set apart.
      just tired of it.

    We know what happened to them. Look into the 'Final Report to Tribunus" in the Imperial Library website, a place supported out-of-game by the loremasters of the Elder Scrolls series. There you can learn so much. Like how the Dwemer were transmuted into the divine brass skin of Numidium. Numidium was to be the Dwemer answer to godhood, an artificial deity that, through its own tonal architecture, can deny all reality for the sake of a new, better one according to the Dwemer standards. The thing was so powerful, it made Akatosh question itself, and thus performed a Dragon Break. It's even mentioned in the prophecy upon Alduin's Wall.

    The smiths that smelt Dwemer metal pieces can access the Dwemeric alloy but they cannot embue it with the magic and using the smithing techniques that the Dwemer used to make their metal so powerful. This also explains how Dwemeric armour and weapons are so shit in the game - they're not made by the Dwemer.

    The setting is Hammerfell. It has been 3 years since the Dragonborn defeated Alduin. It's unknown where that hero is, but a new one will soon arise. The Aldmeri Dominion has launched an invasion of Hammerfell once again, 3 years before the beginning of this story. After years of bloody battles fought to a near stalemate, events are thrown into motion that make it seem like the end of the war may finally come. Halfway through the main questline, the hope for peace in Hammerfell is crushed by... the return of the Dwemer. Massive air ships drop Dwemer machines and soldiers with powerful armor and advanced weaponry all across Tamriel. The Redguards and the Altmer, Bosmer, and Khajit must form an alliance to stop the Dwemer from taking over Hammerfell as the rest of Tamriel fights off the Dwarves as well. Nirn is thrown into its darkest days that any mortal has witnessed. The Dwemer will not stop until they have enslaved all the hopelessly outmatched races with the help of their futuristic technology, overwhelming numbers of troops and war machines, and advanced magic. Where have they been? How did they advance so far beyond the other races in Tamriel since their departure? Why did they come back at this particular moment? Can you, at the center of these monumental events, possibly force the Dwemer to return to whence they came? All will be revealed in Elder Scrolls VI: Dwemer.
    That'd be a game so nice, I'd buy it twice.

    One of my favorite parts of TES lore, if not my favorite. I'm usually not a fan of technology in my fantasy; however, I'll make an exception for the Dwemer. As far as the mystery of their disappearance goes, they ascended to immortality in my opinion. They were too advanced to simply vanish. They are kicking it in their own realm, probably in Oblivion, laughing at all of the other races of Tamriel.

    You know what I think happened to the dwemer? They went the same way that Arneil Gane did. I mean, his ritual was to recreate the events of the disappearance of the dwemer. And it did. They likely used keening and sunder together on the heart of Lorkhan, and disappeared from our plane of oblivion.

  • @Relevus
    @Relevus 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just one thing I'd like to point out, we do know what happened to the Dwemer. If you join the Mages college you can help the research of a fellow mage, he will task you with retrieving Dwemer cogs and other items including a special dagger Keening and a special Warped Soul Gem. Once everything is done, the mage (can't think of his name, i think it's Arniel) re-creates an experiment that the dwemer did, the dwemer used Keening on the heart of Lorkhan, this gem is supposed to imitate the heart. When Arniel hits the "heart" with Keening, he vanishes and you are given the "Summon Arniels Shade" spell. So we know exactly what happened to the dwemer, they hit the heart of Lorkhan, which is immensly powerful and would easily have affected their whole race, vanishing into thin air. So we know what happened, the question is where they are now or whether they have ceased to exist. The Dwemer where trying to become Gods, using the Heart of Lorkhan may have granted them Godhood afterall.
