The spirited one had a whip in his hand and roared repeatedly like a lion. The lord of the universe seemed to make the earth shatter with his footsteps. Krishna’s eyes were coppery red with anger. The infinitely radiant one wished to kill him. In the great battle, those on your side lost their senses. They saw Madhava advance against Bhishma in that battle, as if he would swallow him up. ‘Bhishma has been slain. Bhishma has been slain. Source: Bhishma Parva Section 102 •Analysis:- Lord Krishna did this because of Arjuna's mildness and the fact that Arjuna was holding back. If Arjuna was not holding back then lord Krishna would not choose to raise weapons. This doesn't mean arjuna's incapability to face bhisma. If he was really incapable then how during those day 10 of fights Arjuna overpowered Bhsima? Arjuna was mild towards his elders and twisting the words won't change the fact dear hater.

Shri Krishna was not angry at bhishma, Shri Krishna got frustrated by Arjuna. Arjuna was not fighting with his full ability against his great grandfather. Meanwhile Bhishma was causing lot of destruction. And only Arjuna had power to restrict bhishma, but after looking at Arjuna not willing to be serious against bhishma Shri Krishna decided to kill Bhishma by himself. Arjun got embarassed ran and held leg of Shri Krishna and requested him to return. He promised that he will fight with full power.
