Wild that we get the reveal this episode that Cassandra Kiramman has literally done more for the undercity than basically anyone else in Piltover. She is the reason that the air there is only mildly toxic instead of completely deadly and unsurvivable, and of course she's the one who gets got by Jinx's rocket "The people of the underground deserve to breathe" And then as soon as the key to this system gets handed to Caitlyn, she uses it as a weapon to choke out her enemies. Incredibly smart move but also incredibly ruthless. This is what she's turning her family legacy into
@@miabellaperez3367 I don't think it was clearly stated, one way or the other - but my impression was that it was an old system - perhaps even as old as the Undercity itself.
@@miabellaperez3367 I thought it was an ancestor too not Cassandra . Moreover , the problem of the toxic air come from their industries , no ? She is just fixing a problem she created .
I'm not of the oppinion that creating survivable working and living conditions for the plebs has to be applauded as generous charity... going by the real world history of industrialism it might as well have been mere measures to make shure the production wouldn't be disrupted.
This has nothing to do with facism. Half of their country continue to attack them. They have a right to defend themselves. Like, people support a character like Jinx...She is a trash person, no humanity left in her and people still support her, I honestly dont get it. First season I was hoping she would get better but I'm really fed up with her.
What struck me while rewatching for the third time: The animation is even better now than it was already. There is even more subtle nuance in facial expression and the camera effects are less in your face but still omnipresent . The lighting and depth of field gives such a degree of realism to a clearly defined artfull 2D animation look , it makes you absolutely forget you're not watching a life action play. All this makes the characters and their struggles even more impactfull and intense. It's at a point that we must praise the animators as on par - if not even even more genius than the voice cast. I've never seen anything like it in 30 years of watching animated movies and series...
@@69quato I know! From literally the very start of episode 1, I think my first thought was "Holy shit, look at all the detail in Caitlin's facial animation!"
13:55 "Go on. I'm ready. It had to be you." I've heard ppl say this whole fight is her trying to suicide by Vi. Because she wanted her sister to be the one to kill the last monster that remains of her, not Caitlyn. Just like when Vi used to chase the monsters away when they were young. And therefore she is able to die in a way that allows Vi to move on and have closure by avenging and killing "the monster" who killed Powder.
@@artxroyalty 100% agree with this and was gonna post a very similar comment but luckily saw this one and so I won't be redundant. I'll add that I think the harmless painting of the town was meant to be a last prank when she died and was never intended to harm anyone, just a sign that Jinx was here.
@@spectreharlequin its not harmless or paint. She dyed the grey colorful. She was harvesting it from a busted pipe for the bomb. She's giving piltover back their toxic gasses.piltolver
"I like how Jinx can't help but kill everybody else but when it comes to herself she always escapes death, even when she's not even trying to. She can jinx everybody but herself." If we come from the angle though that Jinx wants to die, she actually is jinxing herself too. She can never truly get what she wants.
I think Vi is trying her best to seperate the sister she loves from the terrorist in order to do what they think needs to be done... But the child woke both her and jinx up to what they were doing, and neither jinx or vi actually want each other hurt because they do love each other... We saw just seconds before how much confidence Vi has in Caitlyn not missing her mark (with the bullet being super close to her head) so I think the child being close is an excuse, she didn't want her to shoot her sister... Hoping we get to see some type of sister teamup again by act 3!
How the child changed things for each sister is what intrigues me. First impressions: for Jinx, it was the first time she evinced real care, neither as part of a quid pro quo nor for someone who wasn't protecting her, but for someone she was protecting. For Vi, it was seeing that happen, and realizing her sister was more like her than she realized--an echo of Silco's realization at the end of S1E3. It's the first glimmer of a truly post-Powder Jinx.
Ngl your argument was pretty convincing but im pretty sure that shot at Vi was an accident, you can see she was pointing at Jinx's head but it shot Vi's hand...that or I don't know how guns work. But your argument could explain why Cait said "I keep telling myself your different, but you're not." "It's her blood in you veins".
With the way Isha was protecting Jinx, she would've hit them both. Caitlyn clearly doesn't care at this point, too focused on getting her revenge. Her character arc is about to go crazy.
Like I'm sorry Piltover, but the Undercity trio (Jinx, Sevika and Isha) are just too good. They must be protected. They're literally like a little family and I love them.
My soul is crushed from Cait and Vi's fallout, she does NOT deserve the wrath Cait has storming inside her.😭😭 Cait has ALOT of making up to her BUT that fight scene, another masterpiece of a high steaks emotional fight
Someone else did say just how much confidence Vi has in the accuracy of caits shot just moments before, she couldve pulled Isha away too, but Isha was the excuse she gave for why cait shouldnt shoot jinx. 😢 cuz deep down she doesnt want jinx to die. Cait knows this too i think
it's a bit like watching season 1 through a dark mirror. the parallels between Jinx and Caitlyn, both losing a parent and then being swayed by an older and scheming interloper. Jinx now being trapped by her status like Caitlyn was in S1 and Caitlyn being trapped by the memory of her parent's death. the similarity of the body language in Caitlyn's last scene with Mbessa and the baptism scene between Silco and Jinx. Vi again being stuck in the middle. btw, lets not forget Caitlyn opening fire on an arcade machine in frustration last episode. there's also the obvious parallel between Jinx and Silco, first through her relationship with Sevika and then having Isha throw herself at Jinx, this time not for protection but to protect. all during Jinx's showdown with her sister. Act 2 can't come fast enough. Edit - i've just realised something regarding Silco and Mbessa - with Mbessa it's "Justice", with Silco it was "Just Us"...
I am simply SO taken aback by how astonishing this was. It's just 3 episodes but already I can feel the rush, I can see and be amazed at the level of the animation, story, soundtrack. It's all just so good and so much has been integrated into the story, they've expanded the limits of what the show could be beyond what I expected. I am so excited for Arcane to be back. And I can't wait for the next batch of episodes.
Woodkid is in his final form here in this episode. Also apparently he co-wrote and co-produced Blood Sweat and Tears. He's not even a featured artist on it. I'm pretty sure him and Alex Seaver are just like legit friends now IRL lmao they're both so passionate about music production, I'd love to be a fly on the wall while they're collaborating on a song. Edit: Oh, and if anyone wants any weird but epic music in the vein of Ashes and Blood, check out the songs "Reactor" and "Minus Sixty One" off Woodkid's album "S16."
I used to listen to Woodkid literally years before Arcane season 1 even came out. Lost track and didn't listen for a while. It's so good to hear him in this show and know that he's still the absolute king of cinematic pop
As for Jinx's plan, she said she was taking out the rest of her family. Pretty sure her plan was to be killed and then have Vi blow up from the explosion.
With how martial Ambessa is acting all the time, it's so easy to forget that she's also sly. Remeber to survive in Noxus you have to be both the Wolf AND the Fox. It's crazy how she managed to pull the strings behind the scenes pretty much unnoticed so far. The only one who's on her trail is Mel.
Maybe it's because we have a little more insight on Ambessa than everyone in the show...but I lowkey thought it was obvious that she had something to do with it. Then again, the only people that really knew how much she was pushing for Hextech weapons was Jayce and Mel so...I guess that tracks
It explains why in s1 act1 enforcers had to wear gas masks in the “under city” while Caitlyn was able to run around down there with no problem breathing, because Cassandra had cleaned the air, which good on Cassandra!
@@artxroyalty I don't think Cassandra had any idea Caitlyn was down there. But like what first commenter said, it's bad like smog, but unless your deep in the fissures or releasing the grey, you can still breathe without a mask.
They way they are playing content in season two against content from season 1 has been next level. The mirroring of Powder on her knees crying as Vi walked away at the end of season 1 episode 3 and Vi on her knees and crying as Cait walked away at the end of season 2 episode 3. Caitlyn giving a remixed version of Ekko's line from season 1. Powder and Sevika moments the ring very similarly to Jayce and Viktor moments from Season 1.
YESSSS I peeped that as well! Arcane has always been on another level when it came to parallel in their storytelling and that stood out to me! Excited to see what other parallels are in store for us!
@@artxroyalty There's also strong parallels between Vi and Ekko both saying that Powder's gone, Jinx is all that's left, but once they fight and have Jinx on the ground, they both hesitate. Also, not a parallel but just a sad realization, the contrast between Vi and Jinx is that while Powder screams and cries for Vi to "come back", Vi is just broken. She doesn't even call out for Cait, just crumples and cries :(
Despite being such a minor character in the show, Singed’s lore is some of the best and craziest of any character’s!!! Everything with Singed is just “WHO LET HIM COOK???” and it’s finally time for all this Singed build-up throughout season 1 and 2 to pay off.
They telegraphed Ambessa's involvement in the S2E1 attack when they cut to her after Mel said the attack needed inside help to happen. Also: S1E9 Vi saying "He knew what he signed up for, there's thousands more where he came from" vs. this episode's "There's a kid there" Vi--like most human beings, Vi is excellent at rationalizing her subconscious decisions after the fact, even when it's inconsistent over time.
I noticed that on my rewatch! I also feel like a small part of that was her not really wanting Cait to shoot Jinx, even as much as she claims she's "ready"
I guess it's offical. Every episode 3 or Arcane has the emotional torture curse. Where everything blows up into your face, and change becomes immediate (the villain arc)
@@artxroyalty Oh and what's more, it knows where to hurt you. Like how Cait hurt Vi on the stomach, the same spot where Vi got stabbed a while ago. A wound that Cait tried to heal with medicine. She literally traded her gun to get that, only to hit the same spot with the same weapon. Talk about comebacks the worst way possible.
Another thing to be added, you said the only person she can’t Jinx is herself but that’s not the case. She tried to off herself twice but she “jinxed it”. Poor baby
Probably, in the previous lore the Grey is just what the smog in Zaun is called. I mean, it's still that here, but there seems to be a more superstitious attitude toward it.
I gotta admit. It is pretty hypocritical that last season Vi had that whole scene where she basically called Jayce a naive pussy for stopping the whole operation after one dead kid, then she suddenly is willing to sacrifice the whole mission for one kid.
Janna mention! The Black Rose! (👀) The build up to Warwick! Cait/Vi officially confirmed, on screen, after all the subtle and not-so-subtle subtext from the past! Viktor's Evolution! So many references to the League lore, these episodes absolutely delivered.
i just noticed too even after Jinx telling the kid to get off her 2 things happened she yelled (NO!) to the kid that was about to shoot Vi still out of instinct, & then after hearing Caitlyn & Vi argument then Sevika detonating the bombs for topside she consciously/subconsciously protected the kid by hugging & shelter them. Jinx is forever her!!! 🥹🥹💙💙
I'm honestly broken, I can't pick a side because I know all sides are hurting and that hurts me. And obviously Ambessa is manipulating Caitlyn for her own agenda, especially because she's so vulnerable right now. It's a constant downhill for everybody involved, and I'd loved to see everyone heal, but I'm not even sure if that's a possibility now. And as much as the Cait/Vi vs. Jinx/Sevika scene destroyed me emotionally, I was so distracted by how beautiful it was, lol Excited for the next act, November 16th can't come fast enough
Bro, the pass people give Jinx is WILD. She's murdered dozens of people, and as Silco's enforcer engaged in the terrorization and exploitation of hundreds. Give her a comedy bit with Sevika and a cute sidekick though, and people be out here like 'why would anyone shoot at Jinx?'
I feel like most people (including myself) understand why Caitlyn is after Jinx, but I need people to stop acting like she’s this huge villain for retaliating at a government that has oppressed and neglected her all her life.
That'd be a great argument if Ekko had blown up the council, but Jinx was actively engaged in a criminal enterprise to further oppress her own people. Like the person above that said 'We know why... And yet we are still team Jinx...' I get that, I agree with that, it's ok to have your favorite character you root for. Silco was an awesome character. I admire Sevika's dedication to her version of the cause. I love Jinx, although I'm reserving judgement as her serious mental illness seems to have become more of a charming sense of humor so far in season 2. I just think it's funny when around the internet you see a lot of hand-wringing about Caitlyn, who is on her own journey to becoming a monster lost in grief and revenge, but the same people either don't acknowledge the extent of Jinx's actions, or try to sane-wash her actions.
@ I totally see where you’re coming from but you have to understand that a lot of people are emotionally connected to Jinx. We’ve seen and sympathized with her since she was Powder, so for a lot of us we will always be rooting for her and wanting the best for her. It’s just harder to have sympathy for people who are the biggest part of the problem. Yes my heart hurts for Caitlyn, but at the end of the day, she was able to live a life of privilege and was benefiting from her family’s position. That rage, she feels from losing her parent…imagine how Vi and Jinx must’ve felt losing BOTH at the hands of that same system, so no, I find it hard condemning Jinx for wanting to burn it all down
Which is a fine way to feel, in fact the show is arguably designed to make you feel exactly that. But Jinx/Powder has got a pass her whole life. First from Vi in S1E1 When Milo asks 'What about us? I get my face smashed in and she just gets a pass?' to S1E4 where Sevika reports to Silco that Jinx lost control in the fight with the Fireflys and Silco blames Sevika instead, to the very end in S1E9 when she shoots Silco and he tells her not to cry, she's perfect. Yes, she is a tragic character, and yes, terrible things have happened to her outside of her control, like being born in the undercity and her parents dying in a failed revolt. But the things she causes, that are the result of her own actions, she is given a pass. And while Piltover has a lot to answer for as their 'City of Progress' is built on the backs of the undercity, Jinx, just like Silco and the Chem barons, enjoyed privileged positions and lifestyles. In S1E7 Ekko tells Vi 'After Vander died... Silco flooded the lanes with Shimmer. He didn't care what it did to the people.' and in the same episode he tells Caitlyn that Silco pays the enforcers to hunt the firelights. Silco was not only oppressing the undercity with his own drugs and enforcers, he was actively encouraging Piltover's forces to be more aggressive to the undercity except for his own enterprises. One doesn't cancel the other out. I do think by the end Zaun and Piltover will unite against Noxus (and or the Arcane, whatever is going on with that), as Jayce and Silco exchanged in S1E9, 'I was reminded recently what brought us together in the first place, the threats beyond our walls'. Whether that will be enough to patch old wounds, we will have to see.
Really glad to see a reactor who (1) didn't obviously prewatch and (2) is able to pick up on what's happening without constantly talking over everything, missing key points and getting confused. You seem like you genuinely enjoy following this show, Aisha, and I in turn enjoyed your reactions.
My favourite little Easter egg I’ve picked up on in this show, during the opening credits, the characters are depicted referencing classical plays… Caitlin is Macbeth, Viktor is phantom of the opera, Jinx is les mis, and mel and ambessa are shown in a shot resembling Ceasar I think… which is very interesting cus all those are tragedies in some way or another, which has me worried about how this season is going to go
There is a recent interview with a director of Fortiche who admits that the animators or the technic were not able to animate the kiss scene at the time where they made season 1 in this quality. He was glad that it happens in the second season. Animating such a scene convincingly requires the highest level of skill.
ahh perfect timing, i just finished watching your first two reactions as this was posted! another great reaction video, season two has been so rewarding so far!! even though i've waited three years since my first watch, this next week is going to be rough until act two is out 😭😭
12:22 I'm leaning more on Piltover's side at this moment. They were finally about to admit their wrong and give Zaun freedom and peace but then they got attacked TWICE, back to back, by Jinx and Zaun. I think it's only fair that Jinx is brought to face her consequences, especially since she is part of the reason Zaun is now more devided than ever, for her killing Echo's people and spreading terror across the lanes. 18:41 And this moment and development is also on her hands.
I mean I get that but that’s like hitting someone over and over again for years with no consequences and then when they break your leg there the bad guys
Like ironically the attack on the council was probably the most justified attack now if jinx had blew up random buildings and killed the citizens then yeah nah that’s way too wild but they overall the attack was on the people directly responsible for the horrors of the undercity(beside viktor and also jayce cause jayce in 3 days did more than majority of them did in decades)
The council literally had to be forced by Jayce to *reluctantly* agree to make Zaun independent in Ep 9 - after decades if not centuries of oppression and abuse. More importantly, how exactly was anyone in Zaun, like Jinx, supposed to know the Council would vote for peace? From their perspective, Jayce just attacked one of Silco's shimmer factories, killed a child, then backed off back to Piltover. As far as we know, Silco didn't share this information with anyone - Jinx overheard him talking to himself about it, but we can't really be sure of how much she heard... or how much she understood without context, especially with her - let's say "delicate" grasp on reality. Jinx and her actions are a direct result of generational failures in Piltover, and a persistent pattern of oppression and corruption. That they "might" have overcome that at the 11th hour, and decided - for once - to do the right thing (after being bullied into it), I don't really hold much sympathy for their position. They made this monster called Jinx, now they have to deal with it.
I see your points. At the end of the day Zaun is now way worse of than it was before and I can't imagine Jinx expected blowing up the council would help Zaun in any way, though I don't think that was her goal in the end.
I love people saying “Jinx is a terrorist she killed a bunch of people” while ignoring everything Piltover and the council have done oppressing and abusing Zaun I just think Jinx only kills those who deserve it especially them and seeing topsiders suffering puts a smile on my face
@@sidneylominy7331 THIS. RIGHT. HERE. The only time I’d say I couldn’t fully get behind her killing people was with the firelights. We see her kill that one fire light (1x4) and then it’s been alluded to by Ekko when he shows Vi the mural that she’s killed more.
Jinx's smoke/explosions at the end are just the Gray (the poisonous gas from Zaun) being redirected to Piltover by Jinx using the same conduits built by Caitlyn's family :) Jinx added colors to it as we see in that episode ;p
I believe this isn't the first time Jinx has been meaning to die but has been unsuccessful. It has happened at least three times now. Once in the fight against Ekko when she blew herself up with her grenade, then later in the season 1 finale when she is held at gunpoint by Caitlyn, and now this episode. It's almost as if she had pictured her demise at Vi's hands and maybe even looked forward to it to some degree. I don't think she is actually trying to get herself killed but simply accepting death on her own terms.
After seeing this episode I have even more questions about what Ambessa's son has done to get the Black Rose( don't know much but I know that there somewhat involved in Noxus politics) involved because not she's willing to make sure that Piltover goes to war with Zaun either to make a weapon capable of killing the Black Rose. As for Jayce, Ekko, and Heimerdinger I believe that there in some Arcane dimension that's out of time and space (there was a clip in one of the Arcane trailers of Jayce having his hair and beard grown out but sill in his outfit ). While there i believe that they'll be touched by the Arcane in some way that get there League of Legends powers (Ekko) or more understanding to fix the problem.
they really aren’t. she spread poisonous gas to innocent people, potentially could have killed a child, hurt someone she loved physically, etc. Her grief isn’t an excuse to act like she’s acting at her age. she is acting very privileged by how she’s using her “power” and i think she needs to go sit down somewhere.
@@getjinxed-v7zdid we forget zaun (as of both seasons) has to date: Bombed an organized event, killing innocent people, starting a fire and stealing dangerous research data and materials. Blackmailed, bribed, and smuggled shimmer within the city Bombed the council chambers, along with any innocent bystanders within Is lead by crime lords who launched a terrorist attack on a funeral Harbors a known terrorist and continues to use shimmer. And when she is tasked with getting jinx she isolated the areas she gassed. We see this when the enforces go down there. Based on everything she knows and is responsible for, she is in her rights to take jinx down by any means.
@@getjinxed-v7z They literally made a point to show that she only used the grey against the chembarons (who in the beginning of ep 2 are shown to be oppressing zaun’s people) and against jinx in the tunnels. Not trying to justify her actions but saying that she used it against the ppl of the undercity is a blatant lie
Did you notice the splatter on the ground in the Hex Gates core? That was Viktors blood! It dropped there from season 1 when Marcus was talking to Jayce as Viktor was bent over the railing! Near as i can tell theres no way Vi & Caitlyn can go back to even being friends at this point! In Vi's mind she'll see that Caitlyn broke her promise and turned on her! The potential that they'll get into a fight at some point is above 50% chance now and somebody is going to get seriously hurt because of it! It has a greater chance of uniting Vi & Jinx!
I got legitimately angry when Vi said she was done pretending Jinx was her sister, that she wouldn't let Jinx stain Powder's memory. Like, legitimately upset. Dunno if anyone else felt like that, but holy hell.
Fr but It goes to show how good the writing is! Even the good characters couldn't POSSIBLY understand what Jinx is going through. To Vi, Powder is dead and Jinx is an imposter which is understandable, but it's also not the truth and it's infuriating.
@@artxroyaltyI think they were trying to convince themselves that they were ready to kill each other. That jinx saw vi with the enforcers and thought she just fully changed. and vi said jinx killed powder and was trying to separate the two. But then vi had her down about to beat her to death she couldn’t. And the second the little boy aimed the gun at vi jinx screamed no. They both at the giving opportunities didn’t want to kill each other. That says they both still care about each other. That vi is not like the other enforcers and that jinx has pieces of powder no matter how much she tries to bary her
At the sametime, I don't blame Vi either. Yes, she created Jinx, but she's completely in the right to walk away. You can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped. Jinx isn't a good person, mental illness or not. She's kidnapped Cait, commited terrorism and killed Cait's mother for the crime of being around Vi. I think Jinx wanted to die here and go out as a marytr, going by how she didn't want Savika to detonate the bombs whilst she was alive. Both sisters were willing for the other to die in this fight. For Jinx, you don't set off a mini-gun or Fishbones, plant mines or aim a gun point-blank range expecting to not miss. Vi is willing to have Jinx die here, but have Cait do it. Vi can't kill her sister but Jinx can.
I think Jinx was trying to suicide by cop and make herself a martyr at the end there. the explosions were to go off after she dies and that's supposed to rally some followers to rise up against piltover or something. so now the complication is that Jinx is still alive and will probably be pushed into the role of a resistance leader mirroring Cait. it would be very fitting for her to go through a Vander arc or reverse Vander arc so I think that's going to happen as well
Ambessa organizing a raid against Piltover telling the chem-baroness that she can avenge her son seem to be a logical writing error because Ambessa wants Hextech and only Jayce has the knowledge to build Hextech weapons but the Baroness' only goal to kill Jayce so if she were successful that would have undermined Ambessa's entire plot. She told them they cannot kill Mel, that's why the guy with the flare gun did not shoot her but killing Jayce would have been equally bad, Ambessa arrived too late Jayce could have been killed.
15:02 my netflix legit frozed up, with only subs going for like 30 seconds. And I legit set there looking at the screen waiting for the explosions to happen
More like giving a grieving child the power to take revenge. They become blinded and easier to manipulate. If Vi runs away again and just gives up on Cait here, she will create a second monster. She's quite crafty, she made a terrorist and a future tyrant.
To think, season 1 when Jayce confronts Marcus at the top of the hexgate, Viktor’s bleeding nose was spilling out into the bottom of the whole thing. Feeding hex tech with blood right from the start?
You mentioned woodkid a lot during the fight, I don’t know if you noticed but they had woodkid last season as well!! He sand “Guns For Hire” when jinx lit the smoke signal
Yesssss “Guns For Hire” was one of my fav tracks in s1 so when I heard he was in the new season I was ECSTATIC! Not to mention his song during the epic fight…whew! I was hype!!
Its a little depressing that the last time vi and jinx saw each other, vi said nothing would change the fact that they are sisters, now she says jinx isn't her sister
This episode was pretty intense, definitely an act finale. I also like the parallel of how Jayce was dealing with hextech and Vi was involved in a fight just like in the ep 3 of season 1.
I have questions: How do we know or when did we learn the girl's name is Isha? Given Ambessa's hair length in the scene before - how is her hair-do in the last scene possible that requires gianormous braids? Also - if Jayce, Ekko and Jayce were stuck in a time loop that just is a few minutes to them but a long time to the outside world , they wouldn't look older on return . But I agree that time/dimension glitches caused by the hexcore are absolutely thinkable , glancing at Ekko and biting my tounge...
They released the “Isha’s Song” a day or two before the season dropped and that’s what people have been calling her so that’s the name I’ve been using for her 😭 I don’t think they’ll look older BUT the teaser of act 2 with Jayce with the longer hair and beard indicates that they’ve definitely been in there for some time
NOOOOO CUPCAKE WHYYYYY?!?!?! You are my favourite character and I know you are suffering and saw it coming (the you spiraling part) but WHYYYYY?!?!?! That music when she is named general-dictator slays though (as all of the music does), perfect movie for spiraling… and, as much as it pains me to admit it, her villain look and pose in the end looks gorgeous.
I've had this impending feeling that this season will end off bittersweet...there will definitely be a major character death because it's been teased by the writers so...idk, I'd like to believe I've prepared myself as much as I possibly can
Guys I have a theory here that might be a spoiler 7:05 When Ambessa is in Salo's place when she is observing the place she notice the vile of leftover shimmer This might tie into her failing to have Hextech weaponry but having the shimmer or chemtech weaponry that Singed will produce Ionia invasion is the next show I can feel it It ties as well
Ooooh that's a great point! I remember Jayce saying shimmer is cool and all, but it doesn't come close to Hextech...I wonder if Ambessa will move forward with shimmer if she does decide to pursue it
Considering people couldn't know what or who the Black Rose is, it's impressive that Fortiche makes them for what they are : an unknown, unstoppable higher power lurking in the dark
I like how the Black Rose is introduced - I was wondering about their involvement since the new title song animation. I think it's done beautifully in a way that lore newbees can take it at face value for now as some kind of Noxian opposition to Ambessa. Clearly they're going to flesh that out in the next episodes. Mild spoilers below: Lore nerds might freak out like me and get exited because we have an insight allready into how much shit Ambessa has gotten herself at home (or rather her son has). What's even more exiting to me - it supports my prediction where we go after Arcane - maybe confirmation bias on my part - but hey - Mel taken by LeBlanc who's having beef with Ambessa apparently is too much of a dive into Noxian lore to be just a throw away easter egg imho. Furthermore - did we just have the first introduction of an Ionian Vestaya side character? (Leste in ep3 at 11:35 or 7:37 in your reaction) It gives me hope that we might get a Noxus/Ionia/maybe even Shurima based story in a few years 🔥👀
oh I didnt actually know there was a part 2 teaser lol, been avoiding any mention of anything. I do have a theory though, that this new "hexcore" weirdy stuff is related to time. I suspect victor isnt healing those people but rather sending their bodies back in time... maybe at the cost of their lifespan? the guy he healed was in the beggining of season 1 and had a miserable hairline but when victor healed him in ep2 the hairline was also restored, almost like his body went back before it was addicted to shimmer, maybe even using shimmer as a conduit which is why victor was drawn into that alley? also very interesting thing, apparently in the game eko has time-related powers and theres been many hints to it in season 1, with his literal first words in the series being "give me a second" and him having his pocket watch. im wondering now, perhaps heimerdinger, jayce and eko gain new knowledge from being in the warped hexcore, and maybe thats how eko gains his knowledge about time? also food for thought, victor woke up in ep2 and immeditaly abadnoned jayce. ive seen some people question how fast it went but you can see victor looking at the plans for weapons on the table when he picks up skyes notebook, he probably noticed jayce went through with the weapons and was disapointed that jayce went back on his promise twice, then decided to immediately leave for the undercity in the hopes of helping them. I also do wonder if the hexcore being able to heal people now is because of it having practice with viktors leg and absorbing skye, that it now has more in depth knowledge of the human body. I really hope jayce teams up with eko more often and sees how bad the undercity has it, so he can now be a foil for caitlyn like she was the voice of reason in s1
Lol why? We all knew Jinx would lose a finger because we saw the metal prosthetic back when they announced the art book preorders. There’s been a TON of speculation online about Cait being the one to shoot it off using her scope
@@artxroyalty I knew about Jinx losing the finger, but I never linked it to Caitlyn myself, so good call there. I do however think it's not because Cait is a skilled sniper, but instead I think it proves that Cait CAN miss her target because of her anger/rage. Cait was aiming for the head shot every other scene and I don't believe this moment was different. I think the scene actually reveals that Vi is right to be worried about Cait shooting Jinx with a kid hugging her ...
Even though there are signs of the appearance of the Black Rose in the trailers and it was already taken for granted, I don't think anyone expected the degree of involvement that it would have in the series.
It's clear that they're going to go all out for Noxus in the next series, and even if the main arc isn't Jinx or Vi, I highly doubt they'll disappear completely. For example, Ekko and Mel will have a very important role in the future of the franchise...
@@artxroyalty besides fallout and arcane, this year she's also a lead in a show called sweetpea whete she's playing a serial killer and I highly recommend you watch it
@@artxroyalty I'm gonna be annoying here and I'm sorry in advance 😭I also recommend Yellowjackets if you haven't watched it.. I'm sorry I just love her lmaoo
Oh god, I was way too emotionally annihiliated when I watched the act 2 preview to catch any details. Your theory about what might happen to Jayce/Heimer/Ekko is SO incredibly interesting and connects perfectly to how one of those characters is in the game(it's a very surface level thing but I'm not gonna spoil just in case). I really want that now! I don't know if you caught it because I don't think you mention it, but during that Vi/Jinx/Cait fight the hextech weapons are acting really weird. They're all glitching out and seemingly misfiring here and there etc. This is while the boys are messing with the underground hexdome thing. Could things be more connected than we think..? I have a feeling that this could be hugely important for upcoming stuff... I'M SO HYPED FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON
I did notice the fact that it was bugging out was because the Hextech is connected, but a part of me still doesn't fully understand the Hex core so...idk I guess I'll see in act 2!
@@artxroyalty Oh yeah the Hexcore is a mystery and a half. I don't think you're missing context on that, I'm just as much in the dark. Can't wait to find out!
I can't *really* answer because I don't know the answer, I just wanted to say that in the last 24 hours she's watched, edited, and released three reactions. That's a ton of work for anyone, and not only does she not have editors and a whole team like some channels, I'm pretty sure she's never done that before. She has to be exhausted. All I'm saying is in all that if she accidentally missed something it's understandable.
I hear you on the Korrasami; leaving it to implication at the end was painful. At least the comics are good? Personally, I'm getting through the weeklong wait with reaction videos.
Wild that we get the reveal this episode that Cassandra Kiramman has literally done more for the undercity than basically anyone else in Piltover. She is the reason that the air there is only mildly toxic instead of completely deadly and unsurvivable, and of course she's the one who gets got by Jinx's rocket
"The people of the underground deserve to breathe"
And then as soon as the key to this system gets handed to Caitlyn, she uses it as a weapon to choke out her enemies. Incredibly smart move but also incredibly ruthless. This is what she's turning her family legacy into
That is not Cassandra, she's not the one who build it it was her ancestors

Ambessa being like “let me introduce you to a little facism” and making Caitlyn a dictator is great. That whole final sequence was amazing.

Noxus: “Making Fascism cool and inclusive since 2015” 😎
I got so much chills. The music…the chest bumps…the facial expressions!
This has nothing to do with facism. Half of their country continue to attack them. They have a right to defend themselves. Like, people support a character like Jinx...She is a trash person, no humanity left in her and people still support her, I honestly dont get it. First season I was hoping she would get better but I'm really fed up with her.
What struck me while rewatching for the third time:
The animation is even better now than it was already.
Fortiche is at the top of their game.
I've got the greatest amount of respect for the team at Fortiche! If only all animation looked like this lol!
@@69quato I know! From literally the very start of episode 1, I think my first thought was "Holy shit, look at all the detail in Caitlin's facial animation!"
@@artxroyaltywhat’re your thoughts on Jinx’s kid?
13:55 "Go on. I'm ready. It had to be you." I've heard ppl say this whole fight is her trying to suicide by Vi. Because she wanted her sister to be the one to kill the last monster that remains of her, not Caitlyn. Just like when Vi used to chase the monsters away when they were young. And therefore she is able to die in a way that allows Vi to move on and have closure by avenging and killing "the monster" who killed Powder.
Oh my god 😭
@SaturnG_url your welcome
Omg!? Stop it…😔
@@artxroyalty 100% agree with this and was gonna post a very similar comment but luckily saw this one and so I won't be redundant.
Ooop- your mind 👀👏🏾
you did that great perspective switch
I think Vi is trying her best to seperate the sister she loves from the terrorist in order to do what they think needs to be done... But the child woke both her and jinx up to what they were doing, and neither jinx or vi actually want each other hurt because they do love each other... We saw just seconds before how much confidence Vi has in Caitlyn not missing her mark (with the bullet being super close to her head) so I think the child being close is an excuse, she didn't want her to shoot her sister...
Hoping we get to see some type of sister teamup again by act 3!
I THOUGHT OF THE SANE EXACT THING. IT WAS ALL AN EXCUSE AND DEEP INSIDE, CAIT KNEW THAT. THATS WHY SHE WAS SO PİSSED
I'm on the fence whether I want a team up. I think even if they have one, I want Jinx to walk away from Vi at the end.

They absolutely delivered with act 1, something tells me act 2 will be even better! I'm excited!!
Woodkid is HIM.
I used to listen to Woodkid literally years before Arcane season 1 even came out. Lost track and didn't listen for a while. It's so good to hear him in this show and know that he's still the absolute king of cinematic pop
I was soooo incredibly happy when I found out they brought him back for s2! What a song and whew...what a scene!
Yeah, Woodkid was involved in the making of Blood Sweat and Tears, Yoann Lemoine (his actual name) is in the credits for it.

Not them snatching up Mel like a hot commodity.
I meannnn I get it…😂
As for Jinx's plan, she said she was taking out the rest of her family. Pretty sure her plan was to be killed and then have Vi blow up from the explosion.
The colorful explosion was her last act to leave her mark
Isha is really cute, I'm scared for her but also loving her attachment to Jinx
Everyone keeps predicting she’ll die like…? Pls stop, I just want Jinx to be happy 😮💨😅
She’s gonna die so Jinx can get angry and go all out
It explains why in s1 act1 enforcers had to wear gas masks in the “under city” while Caitlyn was able to run around down there with no problem breathing, because Cassandra had cleaned the air, which good on Cassandra!
I think the air is bad in general but people won't die or get sick if they just pass some days in the Undercity .
Oh wait, I didn't catch that! I hope it wasn't just because Caitlyn was down there
@@artxroyalty I don't think Cassandra had any idea Caitlyn was down there. But like what first commenter said, it's bad like smog, but unless your deep in the fissures or releasing the grey, you can still breathe without a mask.
No the enforcers back in the day were just being fucking crybabies, this ventilation system was made way before act 1.
She doesn't even call out for Cait, just crumples and cries :(
16:44 girl didnt even try to fight it, girl did nothing, and yet she slayed her screen time so hard
Lmaooo what can you do 😂
Despite being such a minor character in the show, Singed’s lore is some of the best and craziest of any character’s!!! Everything with Singed is just “WHO LET HIM COOK???” and it’s finally time for all this Singed build-up throughout season 1 and 2 to pay off.
Lmaoooo I’m going to start using that for him now 😭
They telegraphed Ambessa's involvement in the S2E1 attack when they cut to her after Mel said the attack needed inside help to happen.
…and you always think you’re ready for it, but truly…you never are
@@artxroyalty Oh and what's more, it knows where to hurt you.
Poor baby
Someone else pointed this out as well! Good point!
When Cait and Vi kissed! Aaahhhhhh! They are great! I cried when I saw how they left eachother at the end
Also- i wonder if the canister of air Silco brought to the meeting in s1 was a canister of the Grey
Probably, in the previous lore the Grey is just what the smog in Zaun is called. I mean, it's still that here, but there seems to be a more superstitious attitude toward it.
It was.
Why is it not killing the people caitlyns team was attacking though? I guess they're a bit more like Silco they've lived down there
I gotta admit. It is pretty hypocritical that last season Vi had that whole scene where she basically called Jayce a naive pussy for stopping the whole operation after one dead kid, then she suddenly is willing to sacrifice the whole mission for one kid.
Then again - quite a lot of upset happened for her between those 2 events...
I didn't saw the parralel gg at you for finding that !
Maybe because the two people he loves most are involved
I also feel that it goes deeper. As much as she said she was ready to end Jinx...when it came down to it, she couldn't do it, better yet let Caitlyn
@@Amalia-dz3tkobviously that’s why, it doesn’t make it less hypocritical though.
Jinx/Sevika scene destroyed me emotionally, I was so distracted by how beautiful it was, lol

🔊 WAKE UP 🔊
Bro, the pass people give Jinx is WILD. She's murdered dozens of people, and as Silco's enforcer engaged in the terrorization and exploitation of hundreds. Give her a comedy bit with Sevika and a cute sidekick though, and people be out here like 'why would anyone shoot at Jinx?'
We know why someone would shoot Jinx. And yet we are still Team Jinx. 🤷♀️ 😂 Get over it
I feel like most people (including myself) understand why Caitlyn is after Jinx, but I need people to stop acting like she’s this huge villain for retaliating at a government that has oppressed and neglected her all her life.

@artxroyalty IKR!? My friends and I are trying to find screen share workarounds for Netflix and discord
@ teleparty is a good one!!
It was soooo worth the wait. I literally could not stop smiling
ahh perfect timing, i just finished watching your first two reactions as this was posted! another great reaction video, season two has been so rewarding so far!! even though i've waited three years since my first watch, this next week is going to be rough until act two is out 😭😭
Haha I knew I wanted to get them out quick! People were looking for episodes and I wanted to provide!! Thank you!
I knew the "your council is dead!" line from the trailer didn't sound like a complete line
I don’t blame Jinx I would’ve left them for dead too besides like Crosshair from Star Wars would’ve said they’re just another Pilties
I see your points. At the end of the day Zaun is now way worse of than it was before and I can't imagine Jinx expected blowing up the council would help Zaun in any way, though I don't think that was her goal in the end.
Definitely taking your predictions seriously after your commentary and reactions haha.
That music when she names Caitlyn at the end... wowzers
Omg that entire scene gave me goosebumps!
The way Vi is the one being walked away from after being hit, and the resemblance to Powder is there.
@@VAL420 YOU PEEPED THAT RIGHT!?
@artxroyalty It's also the only time Vi's been walked away from as opposed to her walking away.
I got a feeling that Viktor was the one who saved Jayce & his mom in the beginning.
Ooooh I’m curious about your theory..👀
Thanks for the back to back reactions IRL Mel🙌🏾
Haha that's the best compliment! Thank you for tuning it!
I cried the whole night after this episode.
This show is such a masterpiece.
I don't know if I'll be ready for Act 2
We won’t be ready…but we’ll somehow get through it together 😭
Everybody’s at their wits end this season and I love it
That’s what I’m sayinnnn! The time to talk is over, we’re about that action now and I’m here for it!
caits decisions is understandable
they really aren’t. she spread poisonous gas to innocent people, potentially could have killed a child, hurt someone she loved physically, etc. Her grief isn’t an excuse to act like she’s acting at her age. she is acting very privileged by how she’s using her “power” and i think she needs to go sit down somewhere.
@@getjinxed-v7zdid we forget zaun (as of both seasons) has to date:
Bombed an organized event, killing innocent people, starting a fire and stealing dangerous research data and materials.
Blackmailed, bribed, and smuggled shimmer within the city
Bombed the council chambers, along with any innocent bystanders within
Is lead by crime lords who launched a terrorist attack on a funeral
Harbors a known terrorist and continues to use shimmer.
@@Dokari-l9m Are we doing a ''it started all when Zaun bombed them'' thing? I guess i know what kind of person you are.
@@Dokari-l9m have we forgotten that zaun is an oppressed city that is suffering at the hands of the leaders of topside? they are not the victims
i’m soooo scared for isha because her name means “one who protects” i’m so obsessed w her sevika and jinx’s little familyyyy
We know this shows history with kids…
Did you notice the splatter on the ground in the Hex Gates core? That was Viktors blood! It dropped there from season 1 when Marcus was talking to Jayce as Viktor was bent over the railing!
Near as i can tell theres no way Vi & Caitlyn can go back to even being friends at this point! In Vi's mind she'll see that Caitlyn broke her promise and turned on her! The potential that they'll get into a fight at some point is above 50% chance now and somebody is going to get seriously hurt because of it! It has a greater chance of uniting Vi & Jinx!
Wait- what!? Let me go back…
@artxroyalty for the Viktors blood in the Hex Gate's core, you're looking for season 1 episode 5 about 9mins 38seconds in.
hey hey... triple crown today!
This was great episode. The whole Jinx vs. Vi sequence was amazing. Caitlyn entering a dark path. Thanks for the vid. 💙
How irony was "Vi being on a neutral lane". Bro that's basically her role in the game being a jungler 😂
As an uncultured, non league player...pls educate me as to what a jungler is lol
I got legitimately angry when Vi said she was done pretending Jinx was her sister, that she wouldn't let Jinx stain Powder's memory. Like, legitimately upset. Dunno if anyone else felt like that, but holy hell.
Yes (extremely)
Fr but It goes to show how good the writing is! Even the good characters couldn't POSSIBLY understand what Jinx is going through. To Vi, Powder is dead and Jinx is an imposter which is understandable, but it's also not the truth and it's infuriating.
Poor Vi still not given by the writers the chance to do right or be right, other than protecting Isha to an extent.
20:59 “her last act was her supporting her sister 😽” IM DEAD 😭😭😭 omfg fr tho
I play too much 😭
I think Jinx was trying to suicide by cop and make herself a martyr at the end there. the explosions were to go off after she dies and that's supposed to rally some followers to rise up against piltover or something. so now the complication is that Jinx is still alive and will probably be pushed into the role of a resistance leader mirroring Cait. it would be very fitting for her to go through a Vander arc or reverse Vander arc so I think that's going to happen as well
Ambessa organizing a raid against Piltover telling the chem-baroness that she can avenge her son seem to be a logical writing error because Ambessa wants Hextech and only Jayce has the knowledge to build Hextech weapons but the Baroness' only goal to kill Jayce so if she were successful that would have undermined Ambessa's entire plot.
Omg that sounds so anxiety inducing lmao
What happens if you put in charge a person with a good heart, who believes in fairness, curiosity and empathy? But fill their heart with hatred first.
More like giving a grieving child the power to take revenge. They become blinded and easier to manipulate.
If Vi runs away again and just gives up on Cait here, she will create a second monster. She's quite crafty, she made a terrorist and a future tyrant.
@@parhelionhalo Caitlyn is not a child. edit: perhaps you mean she's Cassandra's child - ok.
@Hohum37 yeah that's exactly what I mean
Team Jinx! I don't care 🤷♀️ Nothing better happen to my girl
Just my thoughts 😂 Im only here for her
To think, season 1 when Jayce confronts Marcus at the top of the hexgate, Viktor’s bleeding nose was spilling out into the bottom of the whole thing. Feeding hex tech with blood right from the start?
Wait…😨
You mentioned woodkid a lot during the fight, I don’t know if you noticed but they had woodkid last season as well!! He sand “Guns For Hire” when jinx lit the smoke signal
Yesssss “Guns For Hire” was one of my fav tracks in s1 so when I heard he was in the new season I was ECSTATIC! Not to mention his song during the epic fight…whew! I was hype!!
I love your commentary on this series 💌
Thank you!! This series has so many things that leave you with so many thoughts and feelings
ITS SOOO GOOOOOD OMG
SENSATIONAL
Its a little depressing that the last time vi and jinx saw each other, vi said nothing would change the fact that they are sisters, now she says jinx isn't her sister
The switch up is kinda crazy 😅
Girl… ON….. REPEAT!!!! 😂
This episode was pretty intense, definitely an act finale.
I also like the parallel of how Jayce was dealing with hextech and Vi was involved in a fight just like in the ep 3 of season 1.
Oooh nice catch! There’s quite a few parallels between the two episode 3s…👀
6:11 no yeah I was foaming at the mouth girl FINALLY. Only took them three years damn
HAHAHA I could hear your scream from here 😭
I have questions:
How do we know or when did we learn the girl's name is Isha?
Given Ambessa's hair length in the scene before - how is her hair-do in the last scene possible that requires gianormous braids?
Also - if Jayce, Ekko and Jayce were stuck in a time loop that just is a few minutes to them but a long time to the outside world , they wouldn't look older on return . But I agree that time/dimension glitches caused by the hexcore are absolutely thinkable , glancing at Ekko and biting my tounge...
They released the “Isha’s Song” a day or two before the season dropped and that’s what people have been calling her so that’s the name I’ve been using for her 😭
I don’t think they’ll look older BUT the teaser of act 2 with Jayce with the longer hair and beard indicates that they’ve definitely been in there for some time
NOOOOO CUPCAKE WHYYYYY?!?!?!
That creepy lullaby is a champion theme, that belongs to neither of the two champs in that scene.
BUCKLE UP CAITLYN, YOU'S GOIN' TO THE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGUE!!!!!

Im heartbroken as of right now. I really truly hope we get a happy ending for these characters.
I've had this impending feeling that this season will end off bittersweet...there will definitely be a major character death because it's been teased by the writers so...idk, I'd like to believe I've prepared myself as much as I possibly can
@artxroyalty I can accept Kait and Vi not getting together, or Jinx getting killed. That kind of stuff. But, I need Ekko to have a good ending

@ you can accept Jinx getting- whoaaaa 👀😅
@@artxroyalty under the right circumstances, like if she dies and becomes a martyr
Guys I have a theory here that might be a spoiler
7:05
When Ambessa is in Salo's place when she is observing the place she notice the vile of leftover shimmer
This might tie into her failing to have Hextech weaponry but having the shimmer or chemtech weaponry that Singed will produce
Ionia invasion is the next show I can feel it
It ties as well
Ooooh that's a great point! I remember Jayce saying shimmer is cool and all, but it doesn't come close to Hextech...I wonder if Ambessa will move forward with shimmer if she does decide to pursue it
I dont know, im just crying 😢 but im exited for the next episodes ❤ love this show so much
Considering people couldn't know what or who the Black Rose is, it's impressive that Fortiche makes them for what they are : an unknown, unstoppable higher power lurking in the dark
I have no clue…but it seems cool as hell 👀
I like how the Black Rose is introduced - I was wondering about their involvement since the new title song animation.
I think it's done beautifully in a way that lore newbees can take it at face value for now as some kind of Noxian opposition to Ambessa. Clearly they're going to flesh that out in the next episodes.
Mild spoilers below:
Lore nerds might freak out like me and get exited because we have an insight allready into how much shit Ambessa has gotten herself at home (or rather her son has).
(Leste in ep3 at 11:35 or 7:37 in your reaction) It gives me hope that we might get a Noxus/Ionia/maybe even Shurima based story in a few years 🔥👀
Vi and Jinx hate and love each other so much.
Ahhh complicated sibling relationships portrayed so well...
Aisha can very easily rock a mel cosplay
Maybe I just need to do it already 😮💨
Wow, you look bright for 4:15am, did not expect you were going on that long in the morning. Hope you got a good sleep after.
oh I didnt actually know there was a part 2 teaser lol, been avoiding any mention of anything.
I. LOVE. THIS. THEORY
@ ❤️
Big wolfie is Vander I presume
Ambessa stepped in and took over Piltover is one big swoop
They made it way too easy for her
18:39 love you Caitlyn but it’s getting kinda hard to defend you ngl queen…I support women’s rights and women’s wrongs tho
That’s right! Supporting women’s right and wrongs 👏🏾
"She's gonna shoot her finger off" ain't no way u just guessed that
As someone who doesn't know the lore behind Black Rose...omg they seem bad ass!
