Addco 7/8 inch rear sway bar I found is best compromise for on/off road balance in the WJ. The 1” bar will eventually crack the subframe sheet metal and the stock rear bar isn’t enough for a lift and load on the roof. Or anything really! A couple hints- liquids on the roof really contribute to sway, with water if you can get it into the cargo area you will have a better experience. Throw light bulky stuff on the roof instead. And not sure if your front bar was disconnected, but it is night and day better off road with front disconnected. On V8s if not rusted together loosen the single cat and rotate it 180 degrees up so the dogleg in the lead pipe points up not down. Free break over clearance. Looks like a lot if fun! I suggest Bald Mountain by Shaver Lake for another fun adventure for your crew. Did it once with just a budget boost and again with a full spring lift. A few challenging spots and beauty the whole trail. Good job guys! Thanks for posting. 3.75 inch short arm lift on 32’s-
Definitely recommend disconnecting the end links, quick or not. Unfortunately, the D44A rear QD diffs won't take any lunchbox lockers. He'd need to do an entire axles swap.
This trail is less than an hour from me I’m definitely going to check this trail out. Just sent this video to my buddy along with sunset campground to plan it out! Thanks for the inspiration
Love your choice of trails and the homie feel of your commentary. Simple but elegant. Keeps me inspired and I will definitely being hitting Miller again but slowing it down and enjoying it a little more. Keep em' coming!
Awesome video! Inspiring, because I also don’t have lockers. I’m running a jlu sport with a 3 1/2” teraflex lift on 37”. I’d really like to try some of these black diamond trails.
@@wjoverland5109 Yeah, definitely for sure going with someone. Really liking the videos. Oh, I was going to ask if you ever thought of disconnecting your sway bar links? It helps a lot for traction and won’t stress the stabilizer bar.
Congratulations . My unaffiliated group did the Miller as guests of a gracious Jeep club . I managed to put a horrendous bend in my front driveshaft during an otherwise innocuous stream crossing, that actually, rhythmically, scraped my floorboards. We straightened it out with a hydraulic jack to at least stop the scraping.. tThen, the long climb up the West side of Alamo Mtn, on a summer afternoon, exposed a weakness in myHowell TBI conversion, in the form of ground-heat vapor lock of my new frame mount fuel pump (right under passenger side). Splashed water on it to keep going. since Hungry Valley-is only a couple hours from LA, we all got home that night,
I really enjoyed this video, thank you. Looks like an epic trail and 22:44 in particular so good. And even better, nearly 1000 subs! Great effort, keep the videos coming!
Look at you out there with open diffs just killing it! I just got my 2020 Gladiator. It's a Sport S, but at some point a Fox Rubicon shock and spring package was put on it with 33s. I can't wait to get out into some good stuff.
Ya the WJs do pretty good. Not exactly open diffs though. They are veralocks on the Quadra drive system. Not completely locker but they seem to take us where we need to go! So much fun though! Thanks for watching! 😎👍
If these jeeps have Quadra drive in them, they are not open diffs. They are very capable. I owned a 2001 wj and it had Quadra trac. I still was able to do lots of great trails. But these Quadra drives are awesome. Beautiful jeeps. I’m going to take our wrangler out here to try this trail out. Love the footage and thanks for posting such great content.
Thanks for the info. And I’ll definitely check out bald mountain! I do have an iron rock beefy sway bar in the rear. That’s what broke! it wasn’t stock… but I’m always happy to learn new stuff about the WJ. Thanks!
Do you ever rub at full flex? I see you did some trimming. Trimming mine now. I want 33's but seems like everyone rubs some so maybe I chicken out and get 32's, ha. Great fun!!
I have been cutting and cutting… but now I just bought new 33 inch mud terrain tires and almost no rub.. it’s a process. But on a 4inch lift you can do it… If you plan to do some wheeling like this you’ll need the ground clearance.
Following you for a while now and it's great to see your choice of trails.👌 You're running IRO 4inch short arms lift, correct? How do you like it? I'm looking to install the same setup on my WJ. Keep it going. ✌️
I do really like it. However! I saw that iron rock has some new duel rate 5 1/2 inch springs , when I’m loaded up with overland stuff, I do wish there was a little more there.. ya but when we are just off roading, I think it’s a perfect combo.. With 33s… there will be a bit of trimming! Thanks for watching!
I did that road in my 4 x 4 Ford ranger and all kinds of dudes in jeeps were looking at me like I was nuts. Actually my little truck did way better than some of these jeeps that went a little bit overboard with the modifications. Ran my tires around 15 psi and that was all she needed. No problems anywhere on that trail.
Hey! Ya I plan to do a subscriber run at some point but we are out of state for the next few trips… but I’m gonna announce when that will be and we can all get together… ya I do t really care what type of rig anyone has..
What engine/4wd system do you have in your WJ? My wife has an '04 Limited 4.7HO V8 with the Quadra-Drive system that we are planning to build as a companion overland rig to my '10 5.3L V8 powered GMC Canyon that we have set up for overlanding. We are planning 4" lifts with 33's on both with front and rear ARB air lockers planned on the Canyon.
Morning mines the 04 4.7 limited with Quadra drive. the 4 inch lift will get you a perfect amount on 33s but! you will prob need to trim some fender I've done it quite often with my jeep and my buddy.s jeeps,,, Good luck and thanks for watching!
I already have a set of Bushwhacker fender flares ready to go on when we install the lift and tires and a Goliath off-road bumper is part of the plan. I just showed this video to my wife so that she could see what her WJ will be capable of......she said she wants your hat. 🤣

Sweet video, I recommend taking advantage of those sway bar quick disconnects and get a spartin lunchbox locker for the rear.
Definitely recommend disconnecting the end links, quick or not.

Yes we do but sometimes with all the camping gear we just get stuffed.. but yes when we can . 👍
Thanks for a great video about a local trail!!

Thank you for the great comments! As you know this stuff it’s so much fun! Filming , Off-Roading !
Nicely done! Jeep Miller is no joke, especially with open diff on 33's!
Yes! But it was so much fun.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video bro! Finally get to watch it! Thanks for representing!
Thank you! So much fun!
Been riding these trails on my dirt bike for 25 years. Now that I've bought my first 4x4 I'm looking forward to new adventures
Congratulations ! We did dirt bikes for ever as well, and now! We really enjoy the 4x4 adventure!

@davidbryanwoodworksandmore yes! They have Veralock so there not open diffs. And they do pretty well! 😎🙌
Broooooo this is a bad ass trail. G.O.A.T shout out from El Paso Tx
Thanks for watching! Yes definitely a bad ass trail! Cheers!
Thanks for the info. And I’ll definitely check out bald mountain! I do have an iron rock beefy sway bar in the rear. That’s what broke! it wasn’t stock… but I’m always happy to learn new stuff about the WJ. Thanks!
Weight distribution is a really good idea. I’ll have to see what kinda new loading style !
Love Rummikub!
Ya fun game we play it a lot!
miller is no joke ...
every year it changes ...

If you plan to do some wheeling like this you’ll need the ground clearance.
What also helps a lot is.. bump stop extensions. The rule is get them like 1/2 or inch lower than your lift. And it will help you stop before tubing..
Awesome video!!! Say, what wheels do you have on the red WJ? And, did you make your slide rails?
The tires are 285/70/R17 take offs from a rubicon. Fallen MT tread. And I bought the rock slides. Thank for watching! 🤟😃
Great video! Do you all have quadradrive or something else?
All Quadra drive limited v8s, there’s a few overland v8s with quadra drive …
Following you for a while now and it's great to see your choice of trails.👌

Nice video. Do you know if a Natn’l Forest Adventure pass is required to wheel Lockwood Creek with a Wrangler?
Thank you for watching! I’m actually not sure on that one. I don’t think you do. How ever my friend who was with me had one
@@wjoverland5109 Thank you!

Yes ! I really enjoyed the challenge of the trail . One of my favorites. I’ll be going back this year !
Nice! What rock sliders do you guys have?
think I got them off eBay for about 500 bucks, there solid for sure.
Hi can other types of jeeps tag along on your weekend or day trips I have a 2012 jeep liberty KK 4X4 live in the inland empire area watch your videos

@@wjoverland5109 great hope to hear from you soon I’m Alex love your videos just bought our KK and learning about trail running thanks
We have done 2 recoveries on this trail and video does not do any justice to how hard it can be.
Ya almost impossible to show it on video. But thank you for stopping by and checking it out! Love that trail!
