    I've just started planting Bamboo to learn how to craft it. I think it's fantastic, good for the environment, sustainable and takes carbon out of the air and stores it. I think the most ancient of crafts could be the thing of the future. Cheers J

    The roots of bamboo travel 8 inches under the surface. Dig a trench around your bamboo and put a sheet of metal barrier. Like an edging that is 12 inches deep to keep the bamboo from spreading all over. Bamboo is considered to be invasive and hard to control.

    • @NKpinya5570
      @NKpinya5570 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If the running bamboo yes I agree with you it is hard to control for the people who don't know what they are doing but if clumping bamboo will be fine normally spread around 2m. A lot of people try to use bamboo for border or blocking of the neighbour and they seem to plant it too close to the fence so your idea to put the barrier is great and it does work as I recommend to my customers.

    • @mathusvaiaoga9787
      @mathusvaiaoga9787 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or you can just get clumping bamboo that doesn’t spread.

    New subscriber, Really lovely video full of so much history, Culture and story
    I only wish I could have tasted the dishes cooked in so many different ways, its only through sharing culture around the world that we can truly be united for the good of all people.
    We have lost so much in the modern world and in many ways gained so little, I have just started my own journey into Bamboo in Australia in buying a Farm growing many varieties.
    I look forward to so many new experiences with these amazing plants.
    Thank you for making such an amazing video and sharing so much.

    Thank you so much for showing how to grow them bamboo. They are pretty much like growing sugarcane. But one thing I don't understand is how the Chinese grown there's bamboo 1meter - 2meters a part without any other bamboo shoot growing near or next to it like in the movies. When I was growing up in Cambodia they grow around each other.

    I am thinking of growing fence post maybe 8 foot inside dig hole 3 foot deep transplanting with roots undisturbed.. Will it kill the bamboo or will it act like tomato plants and grow roots from where branches were? Hypothetical air layering them first leave the rootballs on the trunk and have second branche near tips been attempted?
