  • I sold my perfectly good Kamp-Rite cot tent and purposely bought an Outsunny (Tangkula) Cot tent that leaks in water. I explain my reasoning along with talking about why you should ALWAYS pack a good tarp any time you go tent camping. How to set up a cot tent and how I set up my camping rain tarp. The easy way to fix a leaking tent; prevent water from leaking into your tent!

I stand my cot on its end and put my foot on the bar and tilt the cot. to get the last hole. I saw it done on a youtube video.Easy as and no issues.

Hi Tin Cup - Until 20 minutes ago, I had never hear of a cot tent. You explained it and demonstrated it very well. I just subscribed. Thanks for the video.

An absolute no brainer to use a tarp, I do all the time, the weather here in the UK is unpredictable, its nice to sleep without the worry that my cot is not going to turn into a swimming pool..Nice video ....

Thank you. This looks very simple and easy to use as well as being compact.
My plan is to go on a long tricycle trip, towing a trailer with camping gear and a guitar. Your ideas could be very useful.

You need to buy an Australian swag, then season canvas buy getting it soaking wet and then set it up in the sun to dry and then it will be waterproof and they will fit the cot as well, we Australian's have some very good products.

Very nice. It's a pity that the skirt of the tent did not fit under the cot edges or should/could it have done?

I hadn't seen a cot tent before but looks like a great setup. I only see one possible issue:. where are your two cohorts going to sleep? I assume they usually sleep with Dad? I KNOW you wouldn't leave them out in the rain! 🙃

I like idea of these even the bigger ones ok because they can go on airplane. I can travel to be with family and not need much else.

it is a hell of an effort puttin' all that into place.... a decent tent however, would be less of a hassle, I reckon... let alone, if the wind was picking up... the cot-tent would be carried away, along with the tarp....

I need to post the footage of a big rain/wind blast that came through. It actually survived because of how I ended up angling the tarp upon final install.

Did you check to see if the bottom of the tent fits over the cot?

I think I did, but will check when I get it out again.

What? No mosquito netting? Dealbreaker! Maybe you can get away with that in Western Montana, but not where I live! Give me my faithful old Kamp-Rite TentCot any day!

I can appreciate that aspect. Not very many mosquitoes here most of the time. And bugs? Those are midnight snacks for me. 😆

Its bullshit that outsunny sells a cot tent that leaks and forces you to buy and set up a tarp to set up over it. Why bother just buy one that doesn't leak.

    That's a terrible design for a tent.

    • @TinCupChef
      @TinCupChef  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I have to agree, but it I went for it because of it's compact size, weight and the large opening when comparing to other cot tents at the time. Since then, another brand came out with something comparable yet better in respect to weatherproof.

@@TinCupChef I used a roof top tent for years and considered the Kamp-Rite, but now I'm looking at the Australian swag tents. I just wish they had a cot base.
