I love how his attacks are based off of secrets in Undertale: The spoon amalgamate, the Waterfall umbrella, the LUCKY_7 arm, the Everyman butterflies, the wingdings for the jab and dash effects, the [REDACTED] shield, the rejected worn dagger, the Glyde tail, the Endogeny arrows... it's all very detailed.
kor gaster from mugen is also done really well, he has lots of easter eggs that fit gaster's atmosphere, he also has a counter that glitches the opponents sprite aswell as stunning them, he can spawn pop ups on the screen, definetly the best playable gaster, you really need to check him out
Moveseet wise this gaster I great but I think it fails to represent gaster either way its still very good besides representing gaster on a game like this might be way to hard

I could be wrong, but I don't think Gaster is "cut content". It feels to me like an easter egg for dataminers. He was erased from existence, thus he doesn't appear in the game but remnants of him can still be found if you look through the games files. It is true that almost nothing we know about him is canon though
He's definitely intentional. Toby knew what he was doing when he put all those secrets in his game, and now with Deltarune it doesn't seem like Gaster's role is that of a mere analogy anymore.
Also, to add to this comment, to say most things are invented is a STRETCH. There ARE some headcanons, such as the "holes in hands", or some other truly fanon stuff, but there is reasonable evidence ingame for a lot of stuff involving him. The water_redacted room, the lost entry 17, all the fun events can be directly or indirectly traced back to him in a really obvious, intentional way.

Anything apart from that and it's mostly headcanons. With the release of Deltarune some people theorize that the whole "Don't forget" thing is actually a picture of Kris and Susie.

Gaster is an analogy for cut content, by the way. Most of what we 'know' about him was invented by the community.
I could be wrong, but I don't think Gaster is "cut content". It feels to me like an easter egg for dataminers. He was erased from existence, thus he doesn't appear in the game but remnants of him can still be found if you look through the games files. It is true that almost nothing we know about him is canon though
He's definitely intentional. Toby knew what he was doing when he put all those secrets in his game, and now with Deltarune it doesn't seem like Gaster's role is that of a mere analogy anymore.
Also, to add to this comment, to say most things are invented is a STRETCH. There ARE some headcanons, such as the "holes in hands", or some other truly fanon stuff, but there is reasonable evidence ingame for a lot of stuff involving him. The water_redacted room, the lost entry 17, all the fun events can be directly or indirectly traced back to him in a really obvious, intentional way.

We know he might be linked to Sans and Papyrus because he's the only other character that uses a different font to speak, and also because Sans uses things that are LITERALLY calles Gaster Blasters. Anything apart from that and it's mostly headcanons. With the release of Deltarune some people theorize that the whole "Don't forget" thing is actually a picture of Kris and Susie.
