    Ah, and one more thing - if you cut an angle cut, it will always add up to 90 degrees if you take both left and right piece. Try cutting two boards, take only the working pieces and see if you get a 90 deg angle this way :)

    The Einhell saw looks identical to the Titan TTB763TAS I bought from Screwfix a few years ago. That rip fence renders it practically unusable for anything where accuracy is even slightly important. Mine is under my workbench at the moment, unused for at least a year. Coincidentally, the Evolution Rage 5S is the replacement saw I've got my eye on, so this video was perfect for me. Thanks!

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the Einhell is just a type of saws used by many makes. Rage 5 is a very good saw when you consider the price tag. Not perfect but for the money it's quite a good deal

    One thing I do like about the Einhel, is that you can adjust the length of the fence, alongside the blade.

    The Scheppach HS105S seems on paper to be a well designed table saw (for woodwork only). An in-depth comparison with the Evolution would make a fascinating topic. The HS105 has a metal insert plate which if it fits flush should support cuts better straight out of the box also the fence looks similar to the Rage. It should cut wood faster because the blade speed is optimised for wood cutting also I think the blades are STD 30mm centre hole dia. Great videos and presentation. Thanks

    I am on a very tight budget and managed to get a Lumberjack version of your Einhell. With the expansion wings levelled you can locate your fence guide all the way to the right, giving you just over 450mm width to cut. The fence has been upgraded too, it now hooks over the back of the table and is solid when the cam lever is engaged. I got mine for £110 so less than half the price of the Evolution. For the amount of work I do with it as a hobbyist it works well enough. There is one big problem if you are working with small pieces of wood, the plastic blade insert is crap, it flexes under any pressure. Unfortunately making a new one from some nice firm wood, isn't that straight forward, as there is some framework directly under the insert, so making a new one is a bit more involved.
    The mitre gauge is rubbish out of the box, but making a new runner for the slot turns it into a functional tool.
    If money were less of an issue, I'd have gone for a better saw, like the Evolution, but for £90-£125 for the different versions of the budget saw and a bit of work, you get a functional saw that can produce some nice cuts.

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's good to know they made some improvements. For me the biggest problem was the fence as it made it inaccurate and dangerous. So I think for the money you made a good purchase 👍

    Cześć Tomasz!
    As for a cheap saw with a sliding table, the only one that I know is Zipper FKS250. It's super cheap, the table is made of an aluminium extrusion, not cast aluminium but it might be worth considering if you are really on a budget.
    I have tested lots of different table saws and from what I can see, there is a big gap between very cheap and not accurate saws and professional saws. The best middle-range saw that I could find is Bosch Professional GTS 10J (and sligtly better 10XC with a sliding table). Anything better than this at least 3 times the price.
    For me, the must have features are:
    - cast aluminium (or better iron) table
    - blade tilting on trunnions or any other system that ensures that it's tilt axis is on the table. This way you can have one zero-clearance insert for all angles and also all measurements using the scale for the fence valid no matter the angle of the cut.
    - tracks parallel to the blade (and ability to fine-tune the blade) - this is crucial - table saw sled is the only way to make crosscuts - I wouldn't rely on a miter gauge, even with a sliding table.
    everything else is optional - you can easily extend the capacity of the saw by building a bigger table around it etc.

    Thanks so much for the comparison between these two saws. Unfortunately, I happened to buy an einheill. But after looking at this comparison, I have concluded that it is an Evolution that I want. But unfortunately after researching that saw here in Sweden, I was really disappointed. the price for this saw here in Sweden is about 752 pounds and above. And according to you "Casual DIY" this saw should cost around £250. But where can I find this saw for that price? And can I from sweden by it, a lot of stors in uk are not shiping utside of uk.

    I had the misfortune of using the Einhell table saw for a previous employer. I have to say it was possibly the worst most inaccurate piece of junk I've ever used. A couple of things not mentioned were the lack of soft start: literally feels like you're taking your life into your hands whenever you press that green button, and secondly the ridiculously flimsy insert plate which bends downward as you pass over it.
    Steer clear of ANYTHING Einhell, I think they make their tools for comedy value rather than practicality. Plans are probably drawn up in crayon.

Power tools are dangerous enough in the right hands, without them being poorly designed in the way you've described. There should be some kind of standard requirement for them to even be sold in this country given the potential for injury.

    Great video, your test for 45° isn't correct, you need to cut two 45° put them together and then measure it, just putting the one cut against itself will always make 90°, i.e. if the blade was at 44° the other side of the cut would be at 46° and together you still get 90°, :-)

      well, they undercut rivals and sell below cost price. If they succeed, there will not be shops like Axminster, Machine Mart which we can walk around and actually see the product, talk to staff, before we buy. This Evolution table looks very similar to a Contractor's table made by Ridgid which is also a nice table. Another nice feature about these types of tables with the extension wings is that you can use the void between the table part and the wing to set up a temporary router table. I have seen many tutorials by other woodworkers who are short on space and don't really want a dedicated router table. They just measure the empty space and cut MDF material to fit. They then attach it with brackets to the underside of the table. Some even use the fence as their router fence. Pretty cool. You may have already done this, but I haven't gone through all of your videos yet. Great review on the Evolution, nice upgrade.

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When I was using the Einhell saw, cutting 45 degrees or even straight cross cuts you should use a mitre gauge or a sled. The way I have done it it's dangerous but still safer that using the wobbly mitre gauge that this saw came with. The board you are ripping never be a rectangle where the shorter side is on the fence. This will lead to a kickback and is very dangerous.

    Excellent presentation. I have a "Workzone" (Aldi) which is a rebranded, Einhell, as I found out recently, when requiring a on off switch. But the one I have, the fence can move onto the side extensions. Also it's adjustable at point it fastens to the clamping mechanism. I have seen video of how to adjust the blade, using the two screws at the back of the blade. Your place is as messy as mine, it's nice to see some clutter, not the vast expanse of space you see else where. Best regards Geoff Maddison UK.

    i have your einhel saw but different color with different badge smack on it.
    the thing is the carbide blade it comes with it makes me cringe
    i was trying to rpi a maple board, and i only seen smoke from the wood nothing more else
    what kind of blade do you use in it?
    also i belive replacing that black insert around the blade for something stiffer would make it much bore accurate
    i also figured out if i don't care for the scale i can move the fence locking scale to the side, or even attach it on the extension wing

      kokodin I usually buy better blades straight away. The ones that any machine comes with are usually not the best quality. But Evolution saws are bit different in that field as they all come with the multi blade. I think it's ok but a fully dedicated wood cutting blade may give you better results.

    Great comparison! Thank you for that! On the Evolution, does the blade "wiggle" sideways or would you say it's quite firm?
    I am asking because with the evolution Rage 2 i am unable to make precise cuts on Square tubes of aluminum (60x60mm with 2mm wall); when it gets to the lower face/wall, the blade starts to deviate to the right.. :/
    I would much appreciate your feedback on this or anyone's who has some experience regarding this.

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi and thank you. On my saw I got no wiggle sideways. But if you got that I would not be using your saw. This could be dangerous. But I will tell you something that may help. Take the blade off and check if it's not bent. I would actually put another blade on preferably a new one if you got a spare. Had something similar with my old table saw. The blade seemed straight even with a straight edge but when I placed it on a straight mdf board I could see it was just slightly bent. And when I put a new blade all was fine. So this may help you. I would also check if the engine came bit loose, check the securing bolts underneath. Please let me know how you get on.

    For big pieces you use a circular saw, diy guide for it and isolation foam board to put the piece on. You dont need a super wide table saw for this. Using Einhell for 2 years and never thought to mod the rip fence to full lenght not to mention there are videos of people making rip fence longer in width. Its more like how my unmodified 2 year old Einhell saw compares to my new Evolution saw.

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I compared how a normal saw performs, modifying a Ford car will not make it a BMW. Further more the time and effort and materials you spend on modifications may mean that the relative cost of modifing a cheap saw will be the same or grater of the more expensive and better saw out of the box.

    • @michaelfairchild
      @michaelfairchild 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most mods for table saws are actually made by scrap pieces you can find in your workshop with tools you should already own. You might need to buy few metal parts, but it wont cost you much. Greek guy here on YT made a full lenght rip fence just out of scrap wood he already had on very same Einhell saw.

    Great video, I've got a similar saw (cheap screwfix Scheppach) and I wish I had seen this video two years ago when I got it! A few questions for you...
    - What is the dust extraction like on the Evolution (it's a joke on the cheap saw)
    - How loud is the Evolution compared to the Einhell
    - What is the tabletop of the Evolution made of (looks like thick aluminium rather than the pressed aluminium of the einhell)
    - Have you had any problems with the Evolution now you've been regularly using it?
    - Where did you get your cool hoodie from?
    Thanks for that, keep going and you'll get there!

      The dust extraction is average, a lot better that on the Einhell but it's definitely not top class.
      It's actually quite compared to Einhell and in general The table is a thick aluminium underneath you can see the structure that helps to make the table solid and flat. So far so good, had no issues with the saw. To be honest I think it's great for my DIY needs. Like all Evolution tools you can set it up and fine tune it to get really good results.
      And the hoodie well I work on tight budget so it's from Aldi :)

I've read that someone complained about the "engraved" Evolution name on the surface of the table, as sometimes it catches on the small work pieces or on the back "tooth" of the push stick. Someone filled it with all sorts of materials: hot glue (no, no), wood glue+sawdust, resin, metallic filler, etc.
    Did you find this problem? Any suggestion? I wouldn't fill it with something too hard to level or be forced to level so hard to scratch the plan.

      Might be a little late but the main difference between those two is the price range and quality.
      Evolution sells two branches with the Rage- series for "professionals" and the Fury- series for the DIY- party.
      As for the tablesaws the differences are in the feuatures:
      - The Fury doesnt have a sliding table
      - If you want to extend the table, you have to rely on those wobbly folding wings (just like the Einhell in the video)
      - You wont get the folding table. Instead the saw has the same legs attached to as the Einhell
      - Less Power 1800W for the Evo against 1500W for the Fury
      Asides from that, the cheaper saw might have some parts made out auf plastic, which are made from aluminum in the more expensive model. (Dont know that for sure, but its very common)

      Hi, I kept the Einhell as I couldn't afford anything else. The Evolution, Eithell, and all the other brands have their factories in Chaina or India. I think I gave my thoughts and experience with the Einhell saw quite well in this video. If I had a choice I wouldn't get it in the first place. Just waited and put bit more money away for a better saw.

    Hi Tomasz I have just subscribed having already watched a few of your posts, I like you video's because they are easy to watch and straight to the point!! I have the Evolution down for a table saw upgrade when I can afford it I do a bit of woodworking and currently own a Parkside (Lidl) saw which has been OK and I would say is marginally better than the Einhell but any adjustment is a nightmare and the biggest problem is the blade is not in line with the mitre slots!!
    I can however make do at the moment and would probably get a bandsaw as my next machine in my workshop/garage..
    PS. I'm Welsh LOL.

      Hehe welcome to my small community 😁 I have to say the Rage 5s was a game changer for me. The only downside to all Evolution saws is that they work with lower RPMS which means you can't really use any other blades than the ones from Evolution. The blades are ok but not perfect, and different jobs may require different blades. I'm still searching for blades that would be suitable for Evolution saws but still not found any 🤔
      P.s. I love Wales👍 if I had a job there I would move there 😁

    I was about to get my first table saw(i was looking cheap table saws). After watching your video, i have ordered evolution rage 5 as it really has many features that you can not find at even more expensive table saws. Anyway, i would like to ask you if you can use the diamond blade that you show at another video, at rage 5 s. Thanks.

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      PIT PETER Hi and thank you for your comment. There is nothing stopping you from putting the diamond blade in a table saw but I wouldn't recomend it. Don't think that would be safe. The sliding mitre saw seems to be the designated tool for that type of blades. You got more control over your cut and there won't be any kickback. So in my personal opinion I wouldn't use the diamond blade on a table saw. It's perfect for a mitre saw tho

  • @iancardwell3877
    @iancardwell3877 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The more expensive does not have a fence that goes right across which makes also inferior to the evolution. I bought a German Bayer table saw which is almost same and has all the same features as the evolution

      they cause more problems, the one I had with the Einhell was stopping the material from going through, same on my Evo Rage 5S, as they are not see through you can see what is happening on the cut line, and I usually use my sled so its a nightmare to constantly take it on and off... Plus personal preference.

  • @B0r0

    Comparing a table saw that multiple times more than the other, is not a good comparison, but does inform you why you should buy the more expensive model.

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I class the Rage 5S as budget saw. When I was making the video years ago. You could pick it up for £230 and the Einhell for £150 so it wasn't a multiple price difference 👍

      They are still budget saws. For Dewalt, Bosch etc are at least twice the price of the Evolution. In UK the Einhell is about £110 and Evolution £210. The purpose of this video is to show that it's worth spending a little extra to get a much better and safer tool. The super budget saws in my eyes are just dangerous.

      @Cashuma I do see the point as if I am looking for a cheap tool I may be tempted to go for the Einhell when it turns out it's better to spend the extra 100 for the Evolution - but maybe I don't need to spend an extra 300 for a DeWalt.

    really good informative review thank you for posting I will probably go and buy an evolution based on this review . The only criticism that I would make is that the background music is far to loud and intrusive. it really annoys and wears you down after a while as the viewer tries to concentrate on what you are saying.
