I'm actually amazed by how clean all those cars were. Was kinda strange feeling that something is missing and unusual with the typical cars in US, UK, EU and AU. No graffiti and such.
First time that I have seen electric locomotives used for t his type of work. Thanks for a very good video and some beautiful country thrown in too. Those poweer units look real clean.
Quite a late reply to the comment. I'm not sure how popular electrical locomotives are in the rest of Europe or the world for that matter. But the Iron ore line seen here has been electrified for about 100 years now.
Something about the paint and shape of the ore cars causes them to reflect light in a way that makes my brain see them at digital renders rather than real objects.
Fantastic (loooooong) train and superb video from perfect angles!!! Thank you so much for sharing. Keep up your excellent efforts and take care. Cheers! ...anwar...
Great video! Thank you! This line runs from Kiruna, Sweden to Narvik, Norway. It opened in1902, I think. Then Norway was In a union with Sweden. This is why Hitler invaded Norway, to get the Iron ore for war material. Was it 68 cars or did I count wrong?
@matforsbon So you are saying this is in Sweden? Weird, since I'm one of those who drive these beauties. And once I cross the border into sweden it gets boring compared to this. And malmbanan from Kiruna to riksgränsen was made famous as the most beautiful trip by train. In Sweden!
I've never seen such a huge, long or big freight train like *THIS* !
Amazing video! Great locomotive :D
This is between Katterat station and Bjørnfjell station. It's on the Norwegian side. The signal @ 2.08 confirms that.

Wonderful. Especially the sound at 3:45.
IORE is so cool. I really hope one day we get some heavy electric freight railroading back in the US. Rip BM&LP
Great video. Both the scenery in Sweden and the 14,400 horsepower are impressive!

Exiting Katerat station in Norway, on the way to Sweden to be exact.

1 minute 30, before you see the train, it is a little long, but the pictures are beautiful and the sound is excellent.
Not in Sweden, but in Norway.
good!!!!!
