what is difference between alter & commit command in oracle?

' COMMIT ' term is used when you want to save the changes whatever you have made to your database/table. when you type Commit in the terminal, your changes are saved in the database.
You have to use Commit command when you use DML commands as they do not get saved automatically.
Alter command is used for Columns. Whenever you want to add, modify Columns in oracle, you use the alter command. For e.g :- Alter table Employees add( Column_1, Column_2 ,.....)
Also, Alter command is a DDL command. so whenever you use the alter command, you do not need to use the Commit command as it already gets saved.
