    Not being the "grammar police" dude, it's the BAND'S NAME. If you can't get the band's name right, don't post to TH-cam. And if you can't take a bit of constructive criticism, grow a thicker skin. Maybe I should upload some tunes by "The BEETLES" or the "ROLEing Stones" or "ELVISH" and then when someone complains, I'll call them the Grammar Police. Seriously dude.
    Once again: it's "M.A.R.R.S.". Fix it.

    • @julianhill1914
      @julianhill1914 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      would that be the film starring Emilo Estafez album ? actually I was a mobile DJ in the 80`s so was exposed to many things and liked a lot of things before I found Metal but found chart/pop stuff pretty lame from about 83 - 87, then I heard Marrs n then Bomb the Bass, house, Rave Music and got into that quick too cos it kicked ass. the rise of the sampler did that and I started making my own electronic music as well as Goth/Metal stuff. I even crossed over the genres in 1999 with one of my bands Soundisciples ( find them on youtube, Amazon etc ) In fact I did that kinda thing going back as far as 1988 but no one was ready for that sorta thing then ( apart from me )

    Late eighties, MTV. Like everyone says, this song was ahead of it's time. However, this isn't the original MTV version. New lyrics have been added. I had the original 45 RPM. The lyrics were: "Automatic, systematic, world control. Magnetic, genetic to match your soul." Still a cool song and video. Whatever happened to videos? Oh, well. I suppose it's a good thing videos are gone. Could you imagine what the crap they play nowadays would be like as a music (sic) video? Thanks for the post!

    I remember being in a club in Philly with a guy who asked me to dance and I thought he was one of those quiet shy types and it turned out he danced everyone on the dance floor, off it. I felt like I had four left feet and wanted to hide as fast as I could. A white guy that could dance. After we dated, I found out that he had no problem dancing on table tops in the clubs. The guy could freakin' dance and he knew it. He looked like the biggest nerd around and that was the furthest from the truth. Remember the nerd you may be looking at just may be the hottest thing in the room. He certainly was. Just not a real nice Main Liner if you Philly people know what I mean. I did not fit into the Debutante environment of the Main Line and I had to hit the road. The people of Devon and their yearly coming out as a Deb and dealing with the Devon Horse people made me want to stick a needle in my eye. One of the nastiest people I ever dated.

      LOL! my mom took me to the Devon horse show when I was 8, I've never heard it mentioned since I just read your post - you fit it just fine:-) and I was a deb many years later, out West, it's all a complete joke! but nice to see someone else validate it, ha

    • @doloresm7396
      @doloresm7396 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I forgot I wrote this. I am in hysterics right now. Congrats on being a debutant. Actually, one of the Debs I met was very nice and gorgeous. You probably know the look, Perfect, innocent beauty. Whereas, I was the the typical street wise Philadelphian at the time. I felt like a fish out of water, I knew I was not part of the wealthy set. Just a hard working blue collar working guys daughter. However, I was raised correctly and knew how to behave accordingly. I loved the carriages at the horse show. Did you know that when the parents divorced their seats at the Devon horse show were always part of the divorce deal? I learned that from that guy I dated. Take care, Deb.

    • @WILLIAMCHANEL
      @WILLIAMCHANEL 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree... But, ironically, that's not hip hop, baby. That's go-go, straight-up ripped the fuck right out of Chuck Brown's funkbox, yeah. All love, baby, but that's D.C. for yo ASS. And the same haters in NYC who said go-go was "country bullshit" back in the 80's used to twerk when that beat hit in this track, lol! Hashtag: The world was ready for hip-hop, but only D.C. was ready for go-go, boo.

    Early 90's were great for music, the record companies were lost and had no idea where things were heading, not knowing what to clone and all this great fusion of rock techno industrial psychedelic came about.

      lewis72 Next time I'll have a lawyer type up my comment, yes, late 80's 90's were a great time for musical creativity. New wave was dying, hair bands were not the best of alternatives for many and voila, scenes started to fuse a bit.

      I guess when you're 15 to 18 or so, you remember EAXACTLY when things happen. This was Autumn of my last year at High School.
      TBH, I'd be the same with tracks from 1998 to 2004 or so, or even later.
      Furthermore, in '87 there did seem to be a massive breathrough in sample-based dance records that set the trend for years later.

      Heh, there was to much music for me back then to sit about and remember the exact date, or maybe to many drinks at clubs. Same thing caught my ear though, using samples like Industrial bands was not that common, neither was such a good dance groove, it was a welcome change for me at least.

    I once asked a question about if today's music had an influence on kids, and I got a whole lot of mixed answers, which just leaves me with more questions. The music of back then was of far better quality(this song being one such example) and kids were way more respectful than they are now and to me, that's one reason that more kids now these days are more disrespectful, is that they have worse music, but this is mainly conjecture and guesswork on my part, but feel free to ring in on this if you wish.

    I have a CD with a bunch of different mixes of this. Does that make me old? It does surprise me that this has 8 million views, and that there are so many younger people who like it. Strange that M.A.R.R.S. didn't do anything else that was noteworthy.
