I love my silky , he’s a Scorpio who loves old socks. Enjoys sleeping on my bed with me. He never backs down from anything , his impression he’s bigger then anything. He’s super chilled , over protective of me with a red dyed single strip down his tan fur to match his fiery personality. I love my spoil silky
It should be noted, that every silky is going to be different. For example, except for an inability to stomach any sort of poultry from birth, mine lived for 16 healthy years. He was happy, energetic, very loyal, and surprisingly, very trainable. He learned tricks ( even in mid-age, ) and would do anything, for a freshly-cooked french fry. He disliked oranges, bananas, and an old toy ( especially if he knew there was a newer toy to replace it already elsewhere in the apartment. ) As he became a senior dog, he did start to develop cataracts, but he also ended up with kidney disease ( what eventually led to his demise. ) I got him from a silky terrier rescue breeder, in Woodstock, Ontario Canada back in May 2001 for $600 USD, when he was just 10 weeks old, and I would, without question, go through all of that again, if I could. I miss that dog so much. I have already told family that when it comes my time to die, I want his ashes I have kept, to be scattered with mine.
I was so fortunate to have had a silky, my little Lady passed away in January and she was in her 17th year. She had gotten cataracts in both eyes and didn't feel comfortable going for walks so we started car rides, and she would stand on my lap, and have her head out the window and just loved the wind and the sunshine hitting her face as we drove, she really was a true best friend. Rest in peace Lady and thank you for our time together.
