    My Gran used to live in the Old Rectory in Crosby Garrett (opposite the church) and I spent all my holidays there so remember the railway and viaduct very well.

      I bet you have some good stories of those holidays. I can imagine there are a lot of places to go investigating and playing with friends. I've only been a couple of times. The 2nd was this past June. Hopefully I'm doing the station justice. Sadly the space is limited to get the viaduct correct, so it will be an interpretation of the viaduct. The main part of the layout is as close as I can get it to what it was like in 1948-52 prior to closing. Craig

    Hi Craig - great work on the lazer cutter - very jealous of anyone that owns one! I just can't justify the expense for my small layout. Good to see the progress made.
    Regards
    Steve

      Thanks Steve, it was hard for me to justify it too!! But I figured once I have built the layout, I might find something else to build stuff for... Maybe another layout!! haha. :) Cheers Craig.

      Thanks Nat, it's a work in progress. But, looking forward to seeing what else I can create with it.

    Wow, the station and the bridge will look incredible once they are painted, this was very interesting and enjoyable.

      I hope so!! I'll be painting it all, prior to full fit. Should be fun! Looking forward to doing both of them.

    Impressive Craig, amazing the detail you can get on the laser cutter.

      Yeah it's pretty cool. Past couple of days I've been playing around with making roof tops.. You can cut tiny tiles..

    Hi Craig - What a briliant update mate. The detail you can create with a laser cutter is truly mindblowing.
    Wish I had you as a neighbour so you could show me how to work with a laser cutter but I know my limits.
    All my buildings although scratchbuilt, will be using Scalescenes. But even with Scalescenes I really struggle since my illness.
    So I am extremely excited and looking forward to watching your updates and how you go about making those wonderful buildings, putting them together and finally painting them.
    All the best Chris

      @@Chris-BognorRegis thanks Chris. I’ve watched Michael of Chandwell use the Scalescenes, and his buildings are impressive. His fine work and cutting is good. But with the laser you just get a much crisper finer edge, which I believe will make it more realistic. The art will really be in the painting and weathering!! If you were a neighbour you’d be welcome to come and use chap. More than happy show you how it’s done. As mentioned in the video, I’ll cover off the designs in Inkscape as I get to the real builds of the station and viaduct.. Cheers. Craig

    Hi Craig the layout is coming along nicely with you keep adding details, there are what brings a layout to like! Having the close connections with the Settle Carlisle I can relate to the architecture of the station and structures and the detail that you have achieved with the laser cutter models is amazing! Looking forward to seeing the finished builds and how you go about painting them! Cheers Gary

    • @CGngauge
      @CGngauge  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Cheers Garry. Yeah I'm pretty stoked with the level of details. I guess I'm just trying to show how much detail you can actually get on a N Gauge layout, so long as you have the tools and patience! I'm also trying to figure out what is possible!! Like my pallet on my community post... Craig.

    Hi Craig Great update, you really have got the laser cutting bug...lol, wait until you start with 3D printing...lol. Looking forward to see the construction videos. Thanks

      Thanks Peter. 3D printing... I think that will be a 2025 thing, once I've done the ends that need to be completed. I think the 3D printing will be more for really small details.. I do have my eye one one!! Craig

    Your layout looks great, Craig. Glad you're happy with the Minitrix Britannia DCC conversion we did for you 🙂Looking forward to seeing it with a black body, I guess you could respray a Boadicea if you couldn't find a non-running Britannia to use.

      Yes chap.. I have some footage of it running... I've been meaning to post and add it to a video.. (I really should do another one!!) I'll tag you when I do.

    Hi. This looks amazing. I have been trying to get something that looks this good in o scale using various papers and card. Where do you source the laser board?

    • @CGngauge
      @CGngauge  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends where you are. If you are in the US you can get it from: encompass-media.salesvu.com if you are in the UK or Europe. hobarts.com Search Laserboard. Hope this helps. Craig.

    That's a great looking viaduct, I'm planning a curved viaduct on my 009-gauge layout im planning. I'm not sure how im going to approach it yet. I guess time will tell if I can crack it. Great video... Cheers James 🙂👍

      @CGngauge  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well let me know if you have any questions when you come to it. I was planning on scratch building, but the level of detail I was wanting was probably going to be a little hard!! But with the laser, it's become much easier. Cheers Craig.

    • @DYLINGTONMODELRAILWAY
      @DYLINGTONMODELRAILWAY 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @CGngauge Thank you. It will probably be a scratch build once I get my head around exactly where it's going and how I'm going to tackle it. My grandson(12) is also building a 009-layout and has made a great start on it. He's posting updates of it on his Dylington Model Railway channel with a new update coming soon. We've jumped on board so we can follow your progress... Cheers James 🙂

    Thanks for the video. Can I ask if you could cut the background music while you're talking please! It's very difficult to listen to what you're saying! Thanks.

      Thanks for the feedback. I won't cut the background music, but I'll look to make an adjustment in future video's.
