    One of my best friends and i were getting married 4 months apart. She went to a bridal salon, ordered a dress, paid $6000.00 and didnt show anyone. I was her bridesmaid she was mine. I went to a warehouse and bought my dress off a rack for $500.00. When i was in the bridal salon getting my fitting for the bridesmaid dress i walked past the room she was in and saw her dress. She wasnt upset. I invited her to my house to show her my dress. It was the exact same dress. Same size. Same everything. We could have shared as well but the price difference was mind blowing. I saved $5500 buying off the rack.

      People place way too much emphasis and importance on a one time dress. I bet years down the line, no one will remember it and no one will care what the bride wears.

    • @cerscil
      @cerscil 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +35

      @@gparsons320 I did tell her. She was a little upset. She asked why I went to a warehouse. My fiance and I were paying for everything as both my parents were deceased and his mom was broke. And her bridesmaid dress with the shoes she picked and the hair and nails cost about $700.00. She lucked out. My bridesmaid dresses were only $100.00.
      Afterwards, she apogized for picking expensive things not realizing it was a burden. She listened to the sales woman who told her bridesmaid usually spend $1000 to get dressed for the wedding. Anyway, both weddings were beautiful and fun.

    This whole problem started when one said she had a $5000 budget when it was a lie to begin with. She ended up with a dress outside the budget and her sister would’ve ended up without a dress with their mother unable to pay for both of them.
    She said the limit was $3000 for both of them. But one broke the rule until the consultant heard it from the mom.

      My Mom was going to wear a blue suit to get married in, in 1955. My aunt (her sister in law) said, "No way. You can wear my dress." Her dress had also been worn by her sister a few months previous to her own marriage. I think, eventually, it was also worn by one of their friends. Later, my cousin wore it, and my aunt's niece also wore it.... Same dress, worn 5 or 6 times, the first 3 or 4 times in one generation. The next 2 times in the following generation. They were all slender, but didn't have the exact same build. Somehow, it fit each of them. They all used different veils and flowers and each looked unique.
      I've always thought that that was a very special way of sharing, and so very budget conscious as well.

    Since the weddings are only a few months apart, I think sharing the dress is tricky. The 2nd bride to wear it may feel uncomfortable because it's already been scene by everyone. Less special/unique. Although the dress was beautiful, there are many other dresses similar to that style for much less.

    Really those two sisters should have did their bridal gown shopping separate. I wouldn’t want a gown that my sister wore before me, and just like they were talking and discussing what is something does spilt on it? That’s really hard to get out? The second sister is out of a gown. I hope that Store remembers this little visit with the two sisters and when Or if two sisters, which are getting married close to each other, and are calling in to make appointment for their bridal gown shopping. Need to ask them is there anyway possible that you could do it separate? I would hope so.

      But wedding dresses often get passed down in the family, the grandmother to the mother to the daughter, sharing the same dress.

      That is what they want you to believe so that they can sell more dresses. The same as the engagement ring has to be 1.5 times the mans monthly salary. If you wanted to go for something unique then go for something other than white/cream/beige. Now that would be a unique wedding dress.
