God, you're funny! Love love your long sleeve shirt! I had court the sieve hack. Thanks for reminding me. I have splatters all over my window, chair arm, drapes, windowsill, I think it's probably a watercolorist problem.

I've only come across your channel recently and am thankful for it, love your approach on how you present your videos.. I was wondering if there was any chance if you could do a video on how to do a red drapery with dark fold lines.. I for some reason am finding it really difficult to work with the color red, and even though I let it dry completely, it still lifts my 2 thin washes of paint underneath, which I waited 24 hours for to dry... I am finding this very frustrating, I love watercolor in general, but I want to be able to enjoy painting with it too... I am sure you are very busy and might not be able to do a tutorial on this, but I am taking a chance, I have never seen a video of a red drapery tutorial on youtube.. I would be so so thankful if you could do something like this... 👍😁

These videos take weeks to create - planning, painting, then editing is hours and hours of work, so I don't have red drapes in my footage future I'm afraid but I'm very happy to help you! What red are you using on what paper? If I were painting red drapes I'd paint them with a base of M Graham Naphthol Red on a good quality paper, and for the folds I'd either add ultramarine blue with a touch of yellow to grey and darken the red and for the lighter highlights I'd either lift some paint or use more watery paint. Another simpler option would be to add a black, my favorite is lamp black by daniel smith for the darker parts of the deep folds. Also, you may enjoy watching my footage that I just happened to create of drapes to see how I painted background drapes wet in wet in my latest tutorial I put on Patreon, available at the $8 and up tier. I may eventually release that footage to the public - it's not that I'm trying to hold it back but it will take hours to create a video on just specifically drapes and I have Christmas commissions that are currently breathing down my back lol. There's only a limited amount of hours in the day unfortunately! You can see the painting I did of "Estella" with the drapes in the background if you go to my community tab. I look forward to hearing back from you about what materials you're using!
