We did almost all companion missions for this playthrough and choose Bellara as the full romance, although we flirted with everyone throughout the game until Bellara felt like the clear choice
I'm impressed by how long this is. The developers definitely weren't lying when they said this would come close to matching Inquisition in terms of scale. And for what it's worth, I'm just glad BioWare finally released a well-made game. It looks gorgeous, it doesn't feel incomplete without DLC, it lacks the technical shortcomings of Andromeda or Anthem, and at the very least, it's fun to play. And in a few years, we'll have Mass Effect back. How about that.
Am about halfway through the video and from what i gather the entire games plot could have been avoided if Solas just fucking explained his plan to literally ANYONE who isnt a fanatic. Seriously. "Hey guys i fucked up and made the veil to trap some shitty wannabe gods but they are getting out somehow so i made a better prison for them which i will now put them in. It may be a bit bumpy along the way but no more blights or veil, and by extension excessive demons, ever after so you wont have to magically lobotomize wimpy mages again. Sound good ?"
That wouldn’t work because Solas still wanted to tear down the veil in addition to keeping the evanuris trapped. Releasing the fade into the world would still result in a lot of deaths so most still wouldn’t go along with that plan even if Solas explained himself.

Instead he was prideful, got himself outwitted and is now the source of the thing he regrets the most. Although after watching the entire thing some things might have not worked out since the blight turned out to be.. well that. Maybe he could have rebuild that prison too or he could have restored them to the dwarves if thats even possible after all that time. The plot is still not that great tho.
Wish the devs would've at least given us a couple blighted griffins to fight and help the bloom howler, and while the blighted griffins are attacking Rook and Davrin she could be explaining on how she blighted them

Okay srsly, not that im supporting this game or I was bribed off by EF to give this praise, storywise DAVG is actually good, not as in great like the previous three games, just good - I srsly dont like the cartoonish designs, Im pissed off that this game lost its dark vibes cuz its so damn colorful and purply, and the dialogue sounds like the netflix adaptation of atla - I like the lore aspects of this game, especially the revelation of the Blight being the Evanuris's doing and the Archdemons being the Evanuris's pet dragons and all, at the very least it confirmed this fan theory I heard bout long ago I understand all the hate so agree to disagree yall, and at lst give it some credit for expanding the lore, idgaf bout what yall wud say to me, this game is guilty pleasure Yes u heard me, DAVG is guilty pleasure, Ive played all three games btw if yall r wonderin
I get you, I just can't get into the game when it's pulling stuff like 6:43:53 That kind of situation is something I would have seen back 20 years ago. The overarching story may be good and down to the person if they like the direction it went, but the world building by the characters just feels so wooden with none of the charm that lets me give other games a pass.

This is just Andromeda all over again. Ultimately dumb story with poor dialogue salvaged only by improved graphics (If a bit too clean) and gameplay (Even then people would disagree with that too). It is impressive how many outlets are just outright lying to people to make this game seem more successful than it really is.
Origins was beautiful, and viciously dark. Awakening was a good addon, and viciously dark. DA2 was fantastic for a game made in a monetary dry spell. Inquisition felt to me like they were trying to get back to Origins level, and did pretty good to get there, despite some drawbacks. Veilguard just pisses on everything without the courtesy of calling it rain.
I didn't liked inquisition too, butt.... Y buy it... You know? I don't going to touch veilguard, that's why I'm here, just to see the end of this story
Dull mess? Hard disagree, I was invested from start to finish. I loved all the satisfying lore revelations in the story, like we finally find out what caused the blight and why dwarves don’t dream and it makes sense!

And I personally envy those who aren't cursed with high standards, so I will complain about my issues with the writing (primarily how nobody in the writing team seems to have had a passing proficiency with narrative tension, tempo and tone) until things improve. Just speaking for myself I trash it because I am getting sick of my favorite franchisees being crapped on at best or destroyed at worst because of bad writing and injecting wokeness into lore as a substitute for good writing. I'm not very far through so this may change, but I've seen a lot of talk about how the game isn't dark fantasy anymore. Starting at 1:02:50 or thereabouts is a village where people have been melted into flesh piles, there have been blood sacrifices, and the survivors are all in a fugue state because their minds have been overtaken. Seems dark fantasy to me.
the set up is so bad, you just arrive to some random town youve not been to, casually stroll through, pop some glowing blobs and proceed to leave most of the time is just insufferable quipping, taking any seriousness or weight out the scene or situation, constant barrage of "well that just happened" type of lines - the worst offender being that extremely grating and annoying bellara dropping three of these lines in a row here 55:15
To clarify, not to you but about the game, Dark Fantasy is facing down a horde of monsters made from your own people through dark rituals started by evil mages who wanted to assault the heavens for power. People die day and night in the hundreds with seemingly no hope of ever being saved. Villages are destroyed, innocents are slaughtered for political intrigue or tortured for no good reason but to see them suffer, and the heroes get their shit fucked up from day one. Violence is key and heroism is few and far between. And that all happens from start to end. To say this is Dark Fantasy the stakes should have been threefold.
It was never woke, it was a story that just so happens to have themes that could be considered woke. Dragon Age had stellar story telling and respected the audience, did force feed them agendas but instead had clever commentary. Something this game lacks in understanding and instead has self inserts.

I think its a great game but very dissapointing storywise. No resolution or continuation of various plotlines and characters from previous titles They had 10 years to answer questions about the Warden, Hawke & his Companions, Inquisitions involvement in Tevinter, Tevinter itself, Titans etc Solas, the Gods and Archdemons were alright. Everything else felt severely underutilized

It's just I played the game since the original Dragon Age, and this continuation lacked the gritty, dark, apocalyptic impending doom theme that always been the theme in the Dragon Age series. The writing is clearly lacking, and feels like the developer took too much of a "safe route" and the bullshit nonbinary propaganda. I watched most of this video, and I came to the conclusion I'm never buying this game.
How can you acknowledge the key issues (mismatched tone, boring story, and lack of stakes) so clearly and then pivot to blaming nonbinary people? Are you dumb??

Playing ME trilogy for the 60th time now. Still loving it. Removed my AC collection for this. Restoring them now.
