Thank you for this!! I immediately went to the store yesterday to get a good conditioner. I ended up getting a deep moisturizing conditioner from Shea Moisture after I couldn’t find anything that looked like what you used. I let it sit for almost an hour. And why I tell you I can already see the difference!!! My hair was so dry😢 I was considering just going back to my juicy loose natural curls until you helped me to save my head!
Gurl..... Your locs are gorgeous!!! Your twist out is everything. I like doing braidouts on mine for the volume also. And I thought I was one of the few who picks out the ends for the curls. I am also a rebel to my core. I had to stop listening to other people and videos regarding my hair and locs. I am not the chick who can go two weeks without washing my hair. Sometimes, it's everyday in the summer time because I have an oily scalp. Plus, who died and gave someone the handbook to natural and loc'ed hair?! Anywho, I wanted to see what you did in order to have shiny locs. My hair is naturally a dark brown color and lightens with the sun, so it never looks shiny. I've dyed it in the past, but I don't want to color my hair anymore. I'm gonna go back to conditioning again and see what happens. I'm here in the desert so the dryness doesn't help AT ALL. LOL.
Thanks for this. I am new in my journey but I am finding the typical rules are not goings well for my hair. This encourages me to do what works and enjoy the ride.
Yes, I can definitely see the shine and it is amazing indeed. Your hair is just beautiful! I really need to try deep conditioning to see if it works for me. I'm also going to try conditioning at shampoo time but I want to wait until my hair locks before I start because I don't want any unraveling. At present I use rosewater and oils and they seem to be working well. I'm only 10 months in so I'm still learning and grateful for all suggestions and demos to help me along.
Lol I wish I could just show you my locs for advice! You actually inspired my journey and inspired me to start with braidlocs instead of traditional coils. I see a lot of DIYers recommend braiding and banding, but my stylists says it doesn’t make a difference. I don’t really understand what it prevents but not sure if it’s already happening to me because I haven’t braided and banded.. is it really necessary?
I stopped braiding and banding about 3 months in. Initially I loved it because my hair looked fuller at the time. What I started to notice after several months was that my hair that was naturally shedding in the locs were slipping to the ends, so once my hair loc’ed all over, I had fat ends which I did not like. My locs were thin along the length of the loc, and my ends were fat. It looked funny to me, so I gradually cut them all off over time. I eventually cut more than 4 inches to get all of the fat ends off. It’s the 1 thing I wish I did differently, but I really hated braiding and banding.
I use Joico moisturizing shampoo and treatment balm. If your hair is not fully loc’ed, do not use the conditioner, as it’s very moisturizing and will cause your hair to unravel. Let me know if you have any questions.
I’m considering DIYing braidlocs in the near future. Could you tell me if you have conditioned your hair since Day 1 or if you waited until your hair was fully locked?
I have a video on how I keep my hair with no lint or buildup. Everything I use on my hair is water soluble. I don’t use any oils on my hair, which can aide in attracting lint, and my locs are still fluffy, so lint doesn’t get stuck in them.
You are simply gorgeous and your locs aswell. What kind of shampoo and conditioner did you use please? And did you dye your hair with a dark rinse, it look soooo silky. I love it ❤💯 Sorry, I just seen at the end of the video what kind you use 👍🏽 thank you😊
Your hair looks absolutely FABULOUS and GORGEOUS!!!! What other products (i.e., shampoo, other conditioners) do you use? Great video and new subscriber here. I am excited for your upcoming new channel with your Hubbie.
@@LivinDivine Thank you so much. I will give them a try. I have only been doing hot oil treatments for the most part because I was afraid of product buildup ( have had locs for over 7 years), but I think my hair needs actual conditioner. Seeing your hair I believe I will not suffer from product buildup if I rinse long enough. Do you sit under a hooded dryer or some other form of direct heat after you do your twists to help them dry?
May I ask, what type of hair products you use? I am in the beginning stage of wearing locs. My hair is thin and sparse. I thought locs would help. Your hair is beautiful! Thanks!
Thank you. I use Joico moisturizing shampoo, and Treatment Balm conditioner, but if you are newly loc'ed, I would not use the conditioner, as it's very moisturizing, and will cause your locs to unravel. The shampoo works excellent on my daughter's hair and she is newly loc'ed.
Before being fully loc'ed I used a light conditioner in a spray bottle with 1/3 conditioner, and 2/3 water. I still use it today when I don't deep condition my hair. It's Paul Mitchell, The Conditioner. It's a leave in, and for me it helps with keeping my hair moist, and protecting my hair from sun bleaching that will occur with locs.
Yes, I use conditioner only. I've never used any type of oils on my hair since being an adult. I found that oils can clog pours and weigh my hair down. I like the shine and fluff, but I also like the softness that comes from using conditioner.
You locks look beautiful! I want to lock my hair and really considering doing it myself. Did you do a specific grid when you did your braids? I also work out 5-6 days week and love washing my hair, love the texture and want to keep the fullness as well.
It’s Joico Treatment Balm. It’s very thick, but I LOVE it. You will have to rinse it out for a long time, but it’s an extremely moisturizing conditioner, and does wonders for my locs.
Thanks for this. We “formally” met a few days ago on a Facebook locs page. I’m back for more. Lol. On another note, i tried the Suave Daily Clarifying conditioner and it had my hair sooooo dry. I’m still exploring my options. I will add that brand to my “to try” list. Because your look, is similar to the one I am trying to achieve.
Please make sure that your hair is fully loc’ed before trying it, as it’s very moisturizing. Also, rise A LOT until it is out of your hair. Let me know how it works out for you.
In my opinion, when you have thin hair and have compressed locs, it makes the hair look thinner. If possible I would do a 2 or 3 point rotation, if you are interlocing, to ensure that the locs have room to swell, so it will give the appearance of thick hair. I interloc using the 3 point rotation, for the fullness.
Is it just me or did I miss it?? Yes Loc’s are beautiful. Very beautiful. Matter of fact. It’s the reason why I clicked on this video. So I could get like Livin Divine. But after this video my Loc’s STILL dry. I don’t know what the process is, which products were used, all I know is that she wash and condition her hair in hot and cold water. For a long time…is that 20mins, 30min 60?? I’m really cracking up cuz I don’t know…where the info was. Thank you for sharin. Cuz one thing I did see was that them Locs was on Shine! I saw it from every angle. Roots, ends, etc. am I supposed to Dye it . I know you mentioned that. Somebody help ya girl out!!
I can admit I have never seen such shiny, moisturized locs in my life ! NEVER!
This is SOOOOO IMPORTANT TO ME. I feel like most peoples locs look dry yours looks so shines and moisturized
I also break all the rules with my locs. I wash and condition regularly.
So beautiful I think I'm finally gonna get locs next year
Absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait till my thin little twists thicken up and grow into grown woman curvy locs!
Thank you. Your hair will get there. Hang in there.
I use joico moisture recovery and it is phenomenal
Your locs are my favorite!! Beautiful, soft, shiny, smellin good locs!!😊
Thanks for sharing this. I will have to try using conditioner on my roots to reduce the tangling. Brilliant!

Giiiiirl😮💨My locs looked like uncooked ashy spaghetti when I lived in DRY ASS New Mexico. I feel you😩
You hv beautiful thick hair and nicely fixed locs.

HERE WATCHING, YOUR HAIR IS BEAUTIFUL, GREAT JOB!
Joico is a great brand, thank you so much for your vidoes
Your locs are beautiful!
Great shiny locs! How long do you leave the conditioner in the hair before you rinse it out?
You popped back up on my feed! How are you? Hope all is well.

@@antoinettehardy1725 Yes!! I would have braided and banded until my hair was loc'ed.
Hi there! I struggle with dull locs. What shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner do you use?
Your hair looks nice 👍.
I love this. I will do this conditioner cause I want the shine . I really appreciate it and the twist style. How do I learn to do it myself>
Wonderful what is the name of the Conditioner and shampoo and leave in conditioner thank you very much this is my new lock Jeremy

I'm sorry but I couldn't see the name of the conditioner you used can you please tell me the name. Thanks

Did you rinse that out with the twist in?
You locks look beautiful! I want to lock my hair and really considering doing it myself. Did you do a specific grid when you did your braids? I also work out 5-6 days week and love washing my hair, love the texture and want to keep the fullness as well.
No I didn't use a specific grid, just grab and go. I wash my hair a lot as well.
Is that Joico Moisture Recovery conditioner? I tried to pause it to see the name of it but there was a slight glare.
