Goodwood Kartways Arrive and Drive CRKC 2024 Race #1: New Season New Karts

New Karts New Season. A fresh slate to the season where some drivers already had there taste in these karts back in April during the Goodwood 500. Couldn't find anyone willing to join up and race as a team so had to skip that but first impressions of the kart are that they now "feel" proper. no flimsy pedals, stronger steering and most importantly more protective with a barrier surrounding the kart you'd find at those indoor places so surely this would mean equal karts right? honestly, I'm not too sure.
Race 1 didn't go to plan. If you look closely at when the green flag drops, the top 3 literally walked away from me, and ever since the kart was slow on the straights and couldn't catch up to the drivers in front despite i was much faster through the corners. However, I did build a massive gap behind so I can't tell if it's new drivers behind me that are just not quick or it's the karts once again, I'll lay this race to just a bit of unluck but my head is high for the second round and at the end of the day you just have to keep pushing. Lots of learning left for this kart and I'm excited to get back in and perfect my skill.
Regarding the 2023 Season:
2023 was honestly just another mid-season for me. Found some glory in the semi-finals with a win but other than that it was still "the faster kart won" rather than what's advertised as "the faster DRIVER won". Rarely you will find yourself in a race with inexperienced drivers on track but other than that if you don't have the best kart on that day, consider yourself lucky for pushing a podium. No idea if it's my luck with what kart I get or if generally, i am inexperienced compared to other competitors but whatever it may be even with 3+ years on the track, there is something to look forward too and that the next season with brand new karts supposedly now being the industry standard using the same stuff as Mosport so lots of new learning to do and hopefully as the rounds go by, the whole best kart nonsense is not the reason denying drivers from actual competition here
