Don't underestimate the thrill of a treasure hunt. It can be very satisfying to find that last piece in a haphazard pile. I think this is a great idea for a series!
Absolutely!! I love all the small different elements of this hobby so much. 🥰
Organizing/putting together old sets and completing them with the help of Bricklink has been one of my favorite parts of the hobby 😂😂 .... I'm to the point of offering my skills as a service to friends and family because I like it so much
Yeesss!!! I love that. Feels good to hear others who enjoy this part of the hobby!
Wow a 50-60lb box for $60 is a steal....Love what you did with this build! I'd love to see it tested in water...It'd be cool to see if it floats or sinks!! Future video??
Thank you! So from what I ended up reading about the motor that it was supposed to come with, apparently that also served as a balancing mechanism for the boat in water. I haven’t tested it, but based on the plastic outside shell, I would assume it floats. However I imagine it would immediately tip over without that motor centering it.
It would be a fun video to watch you testing it out! I'm sure it does float, but I wonder if you'll have to make any adjustments to it to stabilize it. @@JJJBricks
I totally get the completionist urge but is it worth listing it as a partial set with the list of needed parts and estimated price for them? As you say there may be someone out there who would like to own or display this set.
Yeah that’s probably what will happen on some level. More to come on this one. Update in a future video 😉
I like this format of content. I recently just bought a bulk lot of 44 lbs so I can definitely relate trying to go through the process of rebuilding a lego set from used parts.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing Derek. It can be a lot of fun if you enjoy putting in the effort of processing Lego of course!
Don't forget to check sold listings rather than what people are asking for things. I mean, they can advertise something for $100, but that doesn't mean they're going to get it. (I like this type of video, too.)
Yes totally! Very good shout. I forgot to showcase that in this video but will add that in probably moving forward. Still testing the waters on how I want to format these types of videos. Glad you like them Beth!
I loved it but I don’t know how you could part with it after all that effort of hunting for parts. I’m sure if you keep it in mind in the future you will find those missing parts. The video was very interesting.
Thanks Jude! Honestly most of the fun is the search and the completion! Like I said, if I build a particular set that I wouldn’t mind keeping or displaying, I will!
I would like to see more of these plz sir
You got it! 🙌🏼
