    Hey there! Thank you so much for all this info! It helps so much!
    Something’s that I was wondering was, do I need to say that I’m in transit if I buy a one way ticket to Mexico because I’m getting married legally within that month to a Mexican ?
    The other question is, can you pay all the fees at the office now or do we still have to do that thing where you leave and pay it somewhere else?
    Thanks so much!

    Did you have to show proof of address in a bill form? I wouldnt want to have bills or anything even a lease there before I am approved for temporary residency. Could I show them my airbnb address?

      Hi @myalisa9000 Most AirBnBs don't mind providing you with a utility bill for residency purposes. I would just make sure it's a possibility before booking the location, just in case; because you WILL need to provide your proof of address in the form of a bill [be that CFE, wifi, etc.]. I hope that helps.

    How long ago did you do this procedure? Did you make the appointment over the phone or online?

    • @MixedinMexico

      Hi @muslimexicana2721 I completed this process about 3 years ago, and I didn't have to make an appointment at all. It was a walk-in [first come, first served] basis. I hope that helps!

    Did you have to show proof of Income? Thanks for the help

    • @MixedinMexico

      Hi @Stevem-cq7yq Acquiring my residency through family ties (marriage in my case), I did not have to meet any income requirements, nor show proof of income. I hope that helps! 😊👍🏽

    Hey, after marriage i have to apply the temporary residency or its not necessary? The marriage papers are enough to stay here legally or not? So if i want to visit my family I will have problems if i have not TP and i am longer than the 180 days?
    I didn’t find these answers 😟 and I didn’t got FMM when I arrived…
    Thank you

    • @MixedinMexico

      Hi @Nini0Chii It is not necessary to acquire your residency in Mexico if you are married to a Mexican Citizen; however there are many benefits, including not being limited to only 180 days upon entry every time [or however many days they may grant you-which could be less than that]. Everyone's circumstances and desires are different though. Your marriage papers will not be enough to grant you a longer stay from the INM custom officials. I hope that helps!

    If my wife who has a Mexican passport, and she is giving me temporary residency does that mean I need my birth certificate apostilled?

    • @MixedinMexico

      Hi @24hrstolive27 It may depend on your particular INM office, but I needed it for my application (in the same situation as you). & It's always better and never hurts to be over-prepared, when possible. I hope that helps! 😊 Let us know how it goes for you! We'll be silently cheering you on!

    Apostilled long form BC is ?

    • @MixedinMexico

      BC = Birth Certificate. If you were born outside of Mexico, you will need to get your long-form birth certificate apostilled and translated into spanish for it to be of use in Mexico. 👍🏽
