Even after watching many of the build videos, this was a really cool summary of how the wrecker turned out. Was great to see it from a slightly different perspective! Thanks for the collab
Matt, you are incredibly relaxed in front of the camera, and you speak so well. It's no accident that MORR has continued to grow while Fabrats has lagged. Robby Layton owes hiss kickstart to you, but growth has slowed now. And what the heck happened to Casey's Off Road? I stopped watching ages ago after he went a bit mad, and I see his stats are looking dreadful on Social Blade.
I enjoyed the event I was stuck in the hospital for five weeks and every video I could watch was helped me keep my sanity! Thank you all for sharing your videos!
That Truck is pure art and Matt's canvas was the banana, morrvair, and the wrecker. It's like the Mona Lisa it's priceless because there's not another one like it.
The wrecker Olympics was a great event, hope it returns so I can attend next year , loved all the vehicles, but Merlin’s was my favorite and his knowledge after watching a couple of his videos, , everyone team evolved in this, seem like good people , God bless and enjoy
It needs a Steve Morrison engine . Somewhere between 1500-3000 hp .😇 I have enjoyed watching the birth of that wrecker . Looking forward to seeing it perform out on the trail more .
Basically the world’s largest rock buggy, with a boom on the back. Crazy how low all the weight is on that thing. Like he said it’s all nearly at axle level. Gonna take a lot to tip that over.
Funny how at least in some states in tje US you can build your own car and get it tagged and insured :D Here in Europe as far as i know even fitting bigger rims or lowered suspension your car is so strict and even illegal if you don't get them inspected and registered in the cars paperwork.
Matt on the heavy wrecker may I say what I would do being in arkansas is make fenders that just cover the wheels like on the late 90 model john deer tractors or the case tractors look them up on line they bolt to the axel and turn with the wheels keeps alot of mud off the tractors so it would yours too
BABY HUEY should be the wrecker's name. Watch one of the cartoons and you will understand why I named the wrecker after the cartoon character - both are HUGE, YELLOW, and SUPER STRONG. Once Matt gets all the weak point identified, and corrected it will truly be awesome. The dash needs to be reskinned, as well as the roof. Hope that gets repaired before it rains. Recovery work is limited right now to day time until Matt can add more lights. RIGID lights can custom make what he needs. (forward, reverse, work area, motor, both side areas, and more!) By making the areas brighter than day, they will be way safer. One area that can be really improved is food and water. There are plenty of civilian MRE style meals, and you get to pick the meals. That way no one goes hungry, not crew, not customer. One or two water jugs (10 gal ea) and fill both with ice and water for drinking, and sanitation, specially when eating. No use going hungry and/or thirsty when on an overnight recovery. Get with an expert on radio communication so you can stay in touch with those who matter. Nothing fancy, just workable. Useful heater & a/c for the seasons. Why suffer when it ain't necessary. Keep the fuel tank topped off when you go on a recovery. You never know. (do you have a way of donating fuel for customer use?). A super tire repair kit for those aw heck moments. Matt already has everything else covered, and probably gave a few of my ideas a thumbs down for being unnecessary or never needed it before.
You remember when you had a friend Pull red Jeep out with his wrecker, and it came forward and hit the boom. Why didn’t you build some kind of adjustable standoffs that you could hook to the jeeps front bumper or bronco so it doesn’t hit the wrecker boom?
I think Matt’s wrecker was the only one in the competition with coil springs. Anybody have an idea in which way that might be an advantage (or disadvantage) for him?
The offshore community does NOT use the 8.1 much at all. It was short lived and never very popular. Merc stuck with the basic 502 platform and built from that in 502, 525, and 540 ci versions for the performance motors and of course now they have their own blocks and heads with 4-cam twin turbos. The 8.1 was never embraced in offshore performance. It was only used for the basic non-performance engines. There were a couple of shops that did performance upgrades for the 8.1 but just not many since if you wanted a go-fast from the factory you got something based off the old 502 variants and if you were building your own custom you also started from that platform.
Not wanting to rain on the parade, but the Wrecker can't be driven on any public road and if it is, there is no insurance. I'm sure clients would not like to know what. I'm surprised the DSP at Hurricane haven't pounced yet.
When i wonder why people say the US has a lot of freedom, i now understand : you can build your own motor-vehicle from scratch and make it street legal. Totally utterly impossible in my country. Doesn't matter of perfect I would build it. You're very lucky. But hey nice thing here, i am legally allowed to have only one pair of license plates for two vehicles - which you can t drive simultaneously - but they share insurance and license plates. This is Switzerland. Anyone else has that in their country?
Awesome video. I didn’t realize I kept cutting you off so much. Lol
I’m just so excited!
Your excitement shows and you’re like a proud papa. Absolutely should be too. It’s a sweet build.

Can I play some Bonnie Raitt?
@@matthewtaylor1039 built-in the U.S.A you are right. 🇺🇸

When Matt said he was going to build a wrecker I bet nobody thought it would turn out like that and ultimately lead to an amazing event.
Great job Marvin. You got a lot of information out of Matt about the wrecker.
That Truck is pure art and Matt's canvas was the banana, morrvair, and the wrecker. It's like the Mona Lisa it's priceless because there's not another one like it.
Agreed! He nailed it with this one!
Don't forget the lil Bombii!
You did a very good job with the wrecker games!
Thank you!!
Great interview and walk around! Such an epic build
Awesome video Marvin!! Great walk around with Matt, and I love how he’s all giddy when he talks about it!!😃
Thanks bud ✌️
Super Matt's wrecker review! The best ever seen!
Excellent, interesting, informative and FUN walk-around!
Matt must have had great parents. They sure taught him to share his toys with everyone. Great to see.
It's cool to hear him to explain the build I'm glad matt has finally being his total real self he's just matt
That was a great time. It would be cool next year to do a contest with fans builds. Thanks Marvin
Great video, really nicely done. Looks like binging your content will be the perfect way to spend my workday.
What good complements. Beaming like a proud first time papa. One heck of a rig.
The wrecker Olympics was a great event, hope it returns so I can attend next year , loved all the vehicles, but Merlin’s was my favorite and his knowledge after watching a couple of his videos, , everyone team evolved in this, seem like good people , God bless and enjoy
This type of build, from start to finish, shows the best way to build it. All off roaders will want to know what works best!
Awesome job. Refinements are just an extension of creation. A scratch built rig that doesn't need refinement is one that didn't try hard enough.
Oh I loved this walkaround... their excitement was contagious
The Smile on Matts face when first Driving It, Said it All
Congratulations to;
The MORR Team
Excellent video
How lucky are you Marvin! I’d love to drive the wrecker.
Awesome love seeing that crazy wrecker. MORR has some of the coolest off road equipment
I liked the way the shifting got a huge smile out of you. 😂
You can tell how fun it is when you take your hands off the wheel to clap!
Thanks for the games you did and awesome.
I had a 8.1 and loved the torque curve!!! Never had to tap up the rpm…. Towed like a dream
I looked for the 8.8...
It needs a Steve Morrison engine . Somewhere between 1500-3000 hp .😇 I have enjoyed watching the birth of that wrecker . Looking forward to seeing it perform out on the trail more .
Hay Marvin, Good job at the games. It was good to see you there. Just wanted to say thanks for games 🤓👍
Lizzies welding looks good.
@MattsOffRoadRecovery you could use front-feders for tractors. They wouldn't restrict movement or sight
Imagine showing up to check out someone's one of a kind build that they put their blood, sweat and tears into and they toss you the keys.
My brother Marvin what’s up great video thx for sharing cheers from yaniel in tampa blessings

I was just thinking if u put a diesel motor in it you would get way more torque to move those massive tires and prob benefit the furl comsumption.
thanks MATT'S yuo are the best ...we are FAn of Him.......il migliore ..!!!! From I T A L Y - - --1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love your channel, great content !!
Glad you enjoy it! ✌️ thanks for watching
in my Logitech Pro headset it sounds amazing,i can feal the V8 :)
👍👍👍👍👍👍This is all I figure I need to say about this wrecker and the people who were involved in making it.

Matt, you did a great job in building that machine

Matts Off-road Recovery awesome TH-cam channel
And an even better guy!
Is the heavy wrecker gonna get a cage?
Well...he was here right now to try it on the trail

What about Sam. Your surprise samurai. That needs a official introduction to your arsenal

Just razors?! yeah right, won't be long till it's an F250 dually with a 5th wheel buried to the hilt...!! "We'll get em out!"
My TJ I swapped a 12valve in is 98" wide lol and probably 6000lbs 😂😂

On the wrecker games what did you break in the tranny? I saw reverse left the chat....
Seems like it's time a 24hrs Hell & back out west?
Maybe! We did one in Arizona in 2021 - but it may be time for another one!

Yeah! John's poor jeep on that water fall.
Are you the one who was sharing The Wrecker games on TH-cam?

It needs to have some sound deadener added to the panels on the inside.
👍
