Loved Kolento because he was a master at crafting new innovative decks. I remember he was one of the first to introduce Giant mage decks and this was my all time favorite, trying to use duplicate to create a wall of giants with Ice block behind. Such a fun, difficult and rewarding deck to play. I followed him quite a lot between vanilla HS, naxramas and GvG and you could see how good he was with some funky decks. He possesses all of the traits of high IQ. Actual high IQ not the larping that most people talk about or perceive. On the weekend I just tried to do my mundane tasks, wash the clothes, make food, grocery shopping, then watch some youtube videos to get off my mind about everything bad happened recently. And I was fine. Not good, but I just spent the time and didn't think about anything. Then I watched this video. I always liked Kolento, I was interested what happened to him. Standard Hearthstone died the moment RNG completely took over the game. I remember when the game was playing to your outs and to your opponent's outs, but when you have random card generation you're just pulling a slot machine: Sometimes you hit the jackpot, and sometimes you don't. I think it's ironic that Battlegrounds has less RNG involved than the main game.
Kolento was my favorite Heartstone player, just because he was the best. When Russia Atck Ukrania, one of my fisrt tought was if Kolento ok, and i already left Heartstone years ago.
I like this series a lot. Would love to see you do a few more. I watched almost all of them. Miss Reynad the most. LaughingHS was one of my favorite streamers back then. Hit legend twice with his Freeze Mage list. Zilea? I think he was one of the original Control Paladin players. No clue what ever happened to him. I quit when every deck was boring midrange decks. I think year of the mammoth rotation? When they killed Freeze Mage, Miracle Rogue, Face Hunter and Fatigue decks the game became boring for me. I also really disliked quests as a gimmick.
I followed Kolento for a while sorta got out of hearthstone as he did too. It was sad to see him go. Great work on this series though. Maybe things will change with Microsoft.
Some say he streams on twitch now with the name "xqn_thesad",doesn't show his face or anything like that, most say they recognized him by the voice and how he speaks english but to me he doesn't sound like kolento
MMR does not mean a lot in the HOMM 3 - what you should be looking at is the table that shows the highest ranked players in the lobby. The current top player is named Challenge Top 2. Kolento score is not even approaching top 30.
I dont understand why Blizzard introduced the relagated thing to competitive hearthstone. So many great players left the scene because how screwed they were by this rule. It seems that Blizzard really hated its old competitive players
HOMM 3 is massive in the russian community atleast for the older gamers there. There's indeed quite the competitive scene there. I played that game alot when i was younger and i would love to be actively competing in it nowadays too, but life's just busy and that game takes time. I wouldn't be surprised if Kolento is playing it. And yes hearthstone was at it's greatest in Naxxramas patch. My good ol' days being legend ranked with control warrior deck. Kolento was one of my favs if not the most favorite streamers at the time cause he was just so robotic but also genius and it was funny when his robotic facade breaks due to funny rng plus he had amazing insight and i learned alot from watching him.
He still plays hearthstone, he even streams on twitch, but under a different username. The twitch account is called "XQN_TheSad", he doesn't show his facecam, but he talks and even has a !kolento command in his chat.
great series of vids, quite depressing tho lol, hs, and the community has changed alot, i used to open my youtube up and vids from all these great guys everyday, now alot have gone, we still have some left tho, cant even beleive hs is so old now
Playing card games such as these causes burnout due to their incredible variance. Once you reach a certain understanding of the game, you kind of feel whatever extra work you do changes your win rate of barely 1% or even less, in their case it's even worse because their revenue was dependant on a game that they might have liked in 2014 but kind of kept on going on afterwards just because it was how they managed to put food on the table and you have to keep playing insane hours, there is no escape. It's amazing they kept performing for so long! Kolento was really a fantastic player to watch, pretty entertaining.
@@Exknight2 Totally, in fact I have myself stopped playing this game around when Lifecoach did. I remember his famous rant and agreeing with everything he said at the time and it's sad to see that the situation didn't improve at all.
Maybe things will change with Microsoft.
coupe of days ago kolento graced us with his presence in sjow's chat
Oh wow, Good to know, Hope he is doing well. I too love HOMM3 but never ever played it online or competitive
Some say he streams on twitch now with the name "xqn_thesad",doesn't show his face or anything like that, most say they recognized him by the voice and how he speaks english but to me he doesn't sound like kolento
It is obviously not him
@@SiouplaitMerci Probably, and with all the stuff happening now in Ukraine we wont hear from him anything soon
MMR does not mean a lot in the HOMM 3 - what you should be looking at is the table that shows the highest ranked players in the lobby. The current top player is named Challenge Top 2. Kolento score is not even approaching top 30.
Heh. I don't know why did I feel Kolento was going to be next.
I enjoyed Kolento a lot.
when they asked him how to be a legend he said JUST PLAY GOOD... lol
who remembers the tournament fatigue mage mirror between kolento and strifecro that went on forever
Love this series, keep it up! :)
I dont understand why Blizzard introduced the relagated thing to competitive hearthstone. So many great players left the scene because how screwed they were by this rule. It seems that Blizzard really hated its old competitive players
I want to see the full clip vs ancestor call shaman
wouldnt say that 700ish elo in heroes 3 is insane but it is decent indeed and it really depends which format u play like duel or mtfw etc
Slowly realizing the entire pro scene from my hearthstone no lifing days have all moved on. Kinds sad
he was my fav hearthstone youtuber together with Dane.. at least Dane still play the game wild constructed, my favorite mode
Are you serious ?
It is not him, not evn same voice
oh i remmeber when he creat the cubelock deck and all of his vid in youtube
Godlento definetely one of the greats, he was undisputably the best hearthstone player for quite some time
Lifecoach should be a really cool one to do next
Do one for Day9!
Wow me and kolento have something in common, Would have never thought so, But Heroes of Might and Magic requires a hell lot of strategy and time,
great series of vids, quite depressing tho lol, hs, and the community has changed alot, i used to open my youtube up and vids from all these great guys everyday, now alot have gone, we still have some left tho, cant even beleive hs is so old now
I just wanted to get back and see how it developed after some years of absence. But it seems like all the main streamers are already gone as well.
Another great video, keep it up! It's pronounced "especially" tho, not "eXspecially"🤣
i played this game so much until the expansions come out at a faster rate, very hard to keep-up.
I remember that I watched massan's stream. Don't know what happened to him
Playing card games such as these causes burnout due to their incredible variance.
The game was likeable then but it isn't anymore, it has changed so much its difficult to keep playing and so alot of players quit.
@@Exknight2 Totally, in fact I have myself stopped playing this game around when Lifecoach did. I remember his famous rant and agreeing with everything he said at the time and it's sad to see that the situation didn't improve at all. Unfortunately MTG is kind on the same situation if not worse and LoR isn't really becoming any popular.
I came here for know if he still lives in Ukraine. I hope he get out of all that conflict 😞
kolento was winning games in top 200 with renounce warlock. he is the streamer for me. i think he won 4 in a row
I love these videos so much!!
