  • In this episode I describe a new concept, Expenditure Functions, and calculate the expenditure function for the case of a Cobb-Douglass utility function.
It's crucial to watch lecture videos in the proper order to ensure effective learning. This is because the concepts in each video build upon those introduced in previous videos. To help you with this, I recommend visiting my website, www.selcukozyurt.com, for a recommended course outline.

Dr. Selcuk you're a math genius! Thank you for these amazing lessons
i always get stuck with wrong solutions because of simplifying algebric terms especially when exponents and always forget what i studied. what's your advice?

    Where do you get py^2/3 * py^1 @ 14:53? Great video!

    Given E(p1,p2,U)=U√p1p2
    1.calculate indirect utility
    2.calculate compensated demand function
    Demonstrate slutkeys

      brother equate expenditure to income
then simply find u in terms of p1 ,p2 and m
and this is nothing but the indirect utility.
To find compensated demand use shephard lemma ie differentiate e wrt p1 to get Xc and Yc
