    Our doberman will be 10 months old in two days and he's quickly becoming one of the best dogs we've ever owner, not to say that raising him hasn't been work and thankfully both me and my wife are retired as I couldn't see this going so well if we both were still working. He's taught us to be patient and understanding and he gets us up a lot and thats a good thing, I've walked more and played more in these past 8 months with Brody than I've probably done in the last 10 years total. He's our buddy for sure and full of love and gives the best, I mean the very very best damn hugs you'll ever get from a dog and maybe even humans. We sure love our doberman and thanks for sharing yours with us.

    Beautiful doberman ! I've been wanting one for ever since I could remember , my dad had a couple and they had so many puppies and I know how much my dad loved all of them and they were friendly even with me and my siblings when we were babies. Everytime I watch a video about them I get so emotional because it clicks back to my dad. Hopefully I can get one in the future.

    I had many breeds in my life and it was the Dobe I wanted again. Yes they are one of the smartest breeds around. Very easy to train and they're willing to please. One of the most funniest breeds I ever had.They're very strong,high endurance and definitely protective of their family. Awesome with kids where they think that they are their own.
    Being an owner of two at one time,which has been a vacancy in my life for the past years which I miss dearly. As a new job I had started a few years ago brought me on the road of travels, where it has put me on hold of owning another Dobe.
    Enjoy! and thx! for the memory of having a Doberman.

    The only problem with a Doberman is they bond so much to you your whole life ends up being about them and you have anxiety worrying about what life will be like without your best friend .in other words the attachment and closeness you build with them is almost too powerful. But I would never choose any other dog nothing in my opinion comes even close

    Great dog, great looking dog, lots of compliments from passerby on walks. Keep in mind if getting one that they have lots of energy, are extremely rambunctious, love to play, love to jump on people and will show food and toy aggression at a young age. Did I mention lots of energy? They are extremely smart and will take to training easily. We have a seven month old that we've had since a small pup, he is awesome but a TON of work, be prepared if you're considering getting one.

    Most people don't think of the Doberman when they think of hunting dogs but let me tell you, they can hunt. I have a raccoon problem around my property. My dobe absolutely lives to solve that problem. he'll wake me up at 2 in the morning or whatever to tell me we need to go outside and hunt so I'll put some shoes on and grab my trusty Ruger .22 pistol and head outside and he'll typically have a raccoon treed in less than a minute. I think he initially detects them from inside the house actually. He'll go to the base of the tree and start jumping up and down and barking like he was a black and tan coon hound. Sometimes the foliage is too thick to see them and I think he's full of shit after 5-10 minutes of looking up in the tree but he won't let up so I keep looking and sure enough, there it is. Thing is though, when I drop it out of the tree, he won't put his teeth on it. He doesn't want to kill it, he just wants to find it for me. He hunts smart too. He'll give a single bark and then come to a dead stop and listen for one to move in response. And then he's right on them.

  • @TheGorillafoot
    @TheGorillafoot 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can take mine anywhere and he can handle it. Just so smart. Before we go to bed, he will search the house for his blanket before he jumps onto our bed. It's so funny to see this big tough dog trotting around the house with this blankey haha! He carries it everywhere he goes. If he gets a new toy he will take that to bed with him. Like a child. It's amazing the intelligence of these dogs.

    Everyone have their preferences. In the end one thing is common among all breeds. They are dogs. They are man's best friend. Been so for the last 30,000 years. There are no bad breeds. Only bad owners. The difference lies in what suits you? Based on looks, temperament, trainability, purpose of ownership, time and effort you can invest on your pet etc.

      It is more about being seriously dedicated to training it than being able to wrestle it. They are one of the most intelligent animals out there. Try to be equally as smart and train it. That is 99.9% of a "bad" dog's problem. Lazy owners.

      CONGRATULATIONS! I'd suggest you get yourself a trainer immediately! Dobies are too smart for their own good, and need a strong pack leader. There is a phase at where they go through "the terrible twos" which is why constant training is advised. They start acting like toddlers, and "forget" their training! But a well-trained Dobie is a PLEASURE to live with.

      MARK SUTTON It has happened. but the only time it happens is when you get a Doberman from a bad breeder and you raise the Doberman wrong. mostly caused by lack of socialization. you have to socialize the dog and also give the dog something to do so it doesn't get bored and become destructive or aggressive.

    Anyone who believes brain myths and such is Falling for failure. My first dobie was a concern because of this. I took her to the vet at 6 months and asked him was it a wise choice of a dog with 4 small children?. He replied, you couldn't ask for a better dog next to a lab or shepherd. And he was right!! Unfortunately after 8 years she subcomb to lymphoma smh

    I think from your Video you should help Vets with Dobermans as service dogs. You Clearly have the cash, and shared it with us on TH-cam. There is a lot of Vet programs that place dogs with Vets that are in need. Would you be willing to help?

    Its a nervy dog and very defensive. had them my WHOLE life. have had 4 of them. lets face it the Doberman was bread out a LONG time ago. now were simply left with nervous nelly show ring dogs! such a shame. I loved all my Dobermans but to be honest my Malinios is 10x better!

      It's gotta be YOUR energy. Yes, they are an exuberant breed, but really prefer a good couch to a good run! Their breeding lines are meticulously recorded, and have one of the cleanest breeding lines. Malinious have injured more people than Dobermans. Look it up.
