EDGE Spotlight: Barranquilla Alameda del Río, a Housing Project in Colombia

  • Alameda del Río is the largest and most ambitious urban and housing project in Barranquilla. The project has 84 hectares of public space between roads and parks, 87 hectares of housing, commerce and facilities, where 24,000 families from Barranquilla will be able to live, under the “City within the city” model and enjoy large areas of space, public for mobility, recreation, sports and the diversity of activities that the city requires.
    There are four EDGE certified projects with a total of 139,438 square meters and 2,108 housing units, with an additional project going through the process toward certification with 32,040 square meters and 408 additional housing units.
    The developers in charge of this mega project are Amarilo, Constructora Bolivar, Prodesa, Colpatria and Conaco.
