I think we need Riley drifting every vehicle at the end. That was fun. I also like how he avoids the handbrake like the plague so he doesn’t scrub too much of that speed he had to work so hard for.
Now that's the kind of truck setup that forces you to work on maintaining momentum and late apex, high entry speed drifts where you never lift the accelerator while ripping through the corners. Reilly's truck makes good sense as a beginner drift missile, what a guy! Lol!
Proving again that you do not need displacement for enjoyment. And, mine is slower, burns oil excessively right now but it's an awesome little truck. Does exactly what it's asked to do. Give me smiles.
you guys should do a show like American Touge where you guys get a group of cool cars and take turns driving them time attack style. I loved the old American Touge when drift king came to US and drove and gave their opinion on people's rides. if you guys start doing this, remember me haha.
That thing seems to have the Miata deal to it. Just an AMAZING goosebump inducing sound with a 100% raw feel. I have many iconic JDM cars, including a Miata....I want a hardbody drift truck NOW.
I love this truck!!!! Before fast and furious I drove a similar one to deliver chinese food... it was so low you couldnt fot a pack of cigs under the frame and the bolts for the lowering blocks would take chunks out of speed bumps.....it slid around corners like a spongey brick but it was so much fun!!!! Thanks for bringing back the memories
I really enjoyed this video would love to see more cheap vehicles like that get tested cause I was a fun to watch....plus I think cars like that make u a better track driver
Loved watching this!! I have a 91 too no power steering or Air conditioning shes ugly but its been good to me. Back in 91 my Dad helped his co worker to get the truck. He co signed for the loan......the next day she passed away. I remember going with him to the dealer to return it or work something out but the Bank didnt care. Its a good thing they didnt take it back once I was able to drive I took it off his hands lol.The damn thing wont give up Everything is pretty much still stock since 91 except for Tires, brakes, Fluids( some of them) thermostat and My ignition switch some rookies tried to steal it but couldnt take it.
I remember growing up watching Riley drift. the amount of love for this truck is unreal, sadly i moved north of Edmonton and i miss all the CSCS's and other fun things.
I drift a 1980 long bed chevy truck ( my icon) sbc 400 built 8" drop in the rear 4 1/2' drop in the front gt drop shocks. Long live drift trucks. I have wall tapped it cuz its so long. But i love it!!and i think its funner than a 240sx.
Steel plates in the bed help with grip and not looping out, no hydro (yet) all power initiation's, it takes alot to figure out angle with trucks specially a full size😉😎
I was dissapointed when he popped the hood lol. I have a D21 aswell , its got a built single cam, ARP studs top and bottom, Manley Rods, Arias Pistons, ACL race bearings, billet GTX3071R turbo, 800cc injectors, 3" straight pipe, runs on a microsquirt that I tuned myself. Makes 400whp on 21 psi definitely not slow.
Just bought a 93 hardbody 1 owner with 75k original miles... Has small frame patch but all in all pretty damn clean for a 28 year old new england truck. Mines 4x4 but i wanna get some more power out of it. Was considering maybe some sort of engine swap. I know lotta ppl do the sr20det but im almost thinking a volvo 5cyl whiteblock or 4 cyl redblock since i love volvo and am very familiar with those engines. My 98 s70 t5 i got 400bhp and 504ft lbs from stock internal b5234t9. Even a b230ft with a nice holset from a diesel will make an easy 300 wheel. And super reliable...

You'd be surprised about what 8psi of boost does to those KA24E engines. The low end torque is surprising, and it turns an every day mini truck into a rocket.
Furthering my want for a D21 now 😂 That trucks absolutely amazing in sound. Now I know what to aim for for street racing power. Intake, cam, shit like that.
I see it got that nice "push to start" feature 👌😂
Best comment ever lol, that’s that super car option. #lamboLIFE
that's probably the best sounding single cam KA i've ever heard
All KAs sound good with a straight pipe
Truthfully ka24 is one of the best sounding 4 cyl to me
S13 head really opened it up top end stock Ka truck heads aren't made for top end there more for midrange
Jesse Gallarzo sounds like a bum shitting into a tin can.
It's a R4 Nismo cam that's why

Gotta momentum drift that 105hp.
😅
This proves you don’t need more than 300 hp to have fun! The cheapest most doo doo car can even make you smile! :)

I love my hardbody. Have owned it for 30 years now.
I have an 86 1/2 that I still drive daily. Has 374K miles now - original engine and 5-spd transmission.
The way this thing dances during drift, the power level and the noise reminds me of an 86 corolla.
Just gotta throw it into those corners!
I love it!
My buddy has a hardbody drift truck and it drifts just like any 240 I've driven its crazy
Hardbody.... Rb swap w/ the trans and diff from said Rb car. Might even get lucky and have the driveshaft fit (doubtful though)
I hope I can drive a stock 240z some day...

So i ended up here after seeing one n thinkin to restore/build it. What is done to the rear axle itself?
I dont care if it makes 40 hp it souuuuuuund gorgeous
should listen to drift n lifts volvo 740
It makes more then 40 hp
which
Ive been in the truck a few times with Riley, dude makes it look so easy and is super humble about his ability to drive it. Loved the video guys!
A fine lesson in cheap slow cars driven hard being more fun than fast cars driven slowly/gently.

Shout out to all the mini truck people out there. My 85 "Dodge" Ram 50 has K24 dreams under it's empty hood.

Put that 400 in a s10 blazer.. shorter and more balanced weight.
Old mate running some humorous commentary mid drift is bonus points for days. Consoder having this guy join the SA team I'd say!
Aaiden Coote I agree he should definitely be invited back to thrash more cars!!
"It's got no power" - Try a stock N/A B230F in a Volvo 240 Wagon with 400K miles with no sensors plugged in

best truck video... unlike the other videos of some kids on youtube, their mouth is louder than the engine!!! this one has real action
To be able to drift something with 100hp to the tire and do it well... that’s some skilled driving

great seeing the owner get in it and wail on it
that's a proper truck. 1:29.5 is nuts out of that thing! entertaining as hell to watch
