David, Putting aside the Century's exclusivity for a moment, the traditional sedan shape is a sight for sore eyes. This is a sedan that is not pretending to be a coupe. Its rear seat is so spacious and its classicly upright form avoids the chopped rear roof line that afflicts 99% of the sedans that followed the original CLS. As the pinnacle of Toyota craftsmanship, it would be an excellent addition to your company fleet and a wonderful way to commemorate the upcoming milestone of 100,000 SUBSCRIBERS . 🎉🎉🎉🎉😉
I bought this car! Moved it to Alberta, replaced some suspension pieces, did some paint correction and a good detail. Really wonderful car, glad to have the the experience of owning it. Kids love all the buttons.
The Century has always been a beautiful car even before any you-tuber in the US ever heard of it. I used to live in Japan for quite a number of years and anytime you saw a Century over there it was always driven by a chauffeur. Thanks for posting this. Just beautiful. Too bad they re-located the mirrors. It would have been nice to see it with the fender mirrors.
A Singapore hotel I used to stay at had a few of these and it was always a treat to be driven to/from the airport in one. Quiet, spacious, and silky smooth but I never noticed the shoe horn or the pass-through seat. So cool to see one again! By about 2005 they had all been replaced with Volvos 😢
In a German magazine they explain this microphone in the back center console is for connect to a tape recorder, so the passenger can record orders for the secretary.
I recently discovered this car. I don't know how I did not know about it, Seriously, considering its workmanship and outstanding quality Even I was moved to want to own one of these. But I don't feel like that I Would have the mechanical expertise. It would need somebody who would completely appreciate the craftsmanship/ complexity more of an understanding of its workings/ maintenance. You, sir, are the gentlemen for this car!
I have watched a lot of videos on the Toyota Century l live in Australia myself and there are a few for sale you can pick them for around aud $20000 one thing l realy like how the paint came out on your video it is superb the videos usually show the same thing because they are all similar some had leather instead of the wool material l prefer the wool and l did like you mentioned about the wood how all the grain matches and its real wood no from a plastic tree and you had a distinct advantage is because you can read Japanese one if two draw backs with the Toyota Century the other one is that V12 would not be to economical
Did you ever buy the Century? If so, about how much do you spend on gas per month? I know the gas range is only 9-14mpg, but how much do you actually feel that?
If you buy it maybe you can have someone from time to time chauffeur you around so you can enjoy being driven around while sitting in the back seat being massaged in a reclined position.

Yes, quite a shame about the mirrors being moved.
Thank you for sharing this experience with us!

I found this tremendously interesting. You are very enjoyable to watch. Many Thanks.
Many thanks!
@@AutomotivePressdid you end up buying the car.???? I hope you did.
This car is timeless. I still see a very Presidential car! I hope the TH-camrs you mentioned really value the car, as we do!
Finally, a Japanese doing a video on the Century
If only he was actually bit more knowledgeable on the vehicle
@@TM-fx5lehow rude of you.😢
Thank you for sharing this great Review

You, sir, are the gentlemen for this car!
Excellent video
Excellent review. 👏👏👏
Think Car Care Nut also did a review on a Century. It’s labelled a Yakuza bosses car
How did your brother import an '03 in the US? If I'm not mistaken, foreign cars typically need to be at least 25 years old to be imported
You are correct..
not sure how he did.
They are in Canada, 15 year import rule here.
I would take that over Rolls R anyday WAY cool Thanks for this 👍.
I have always loved the Century. I’m trying to keep myself from seeking one out. Great review!

Much nicer than my Buick Century.
I’d love one in white, I’m a white Lexus owner 😊.
I always how the Century craftsmanship compares to the RollsRoyce when they build their cars?
I saw Akio Toyoda' new version, gorgeous as this for sure.
Lovely car .
I think you should buy it for future sake.
Maybe you can get a hold of a Century Royal (stretched) version some day??? 😂
David this is a boat 🛥️…looks huge on the inside…but still looks Legendary though 😁
recently saw one at a local car show, I thought it was the most interesting car their, not many other people agreed
Such a beautiful car! Im planning on buying a 2000 model year as soon as its legal in the US. Hows the mantainence cost?
idk the rhd could get annoying no?
If I could really, truly own any car, a new Century would probably be it.
I absolutely love my Century! But one thing that really disappoints me is the rear window seal, rusted along the bottom corner now.
a real car, beautiful review. japanese still know how to make cars, unlike the brits and germans
Golden Phoenix.... the logo.
So beautiful car ❤❤❤
That's a nice car.❤

I like it!
👍👍👍 Thanks!
This is what you take to the local Cars N Coffee.
My dream would be to be inside a new Toyota century, as a Toyota lover, is a dream
If you don’t want the century I’ll gladly buy it from your cousin if possible!
It is so last century! Looks like a 1968 Mercedes 280 SEL
Door mounted side mirrors also came from the factory. It is unlikely anyone would convert the signature fender mirrors back to door mounted.
How does the paint thickness compare to Land Cruiser?
Nothing else comes close to the Century.
This is called a dream car.
I would take this over s class amy day.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
As a car Guy even David is kind of lossed in the back seat discovering the tons of goodies at the same time as us
Very ❤
Gorgeous car Japanese are geniuses
❤❤
😮😮😮
👍
I will love to have, just like the crown owned by by father in-law, so quite and smooth driving it
How much is it,if you are selling ?
Surprised the sun shade is so squeeky. Whatever Toyota did to make it not squeek isnt working because they did think about that!!
Only thing I don't like is no leather seats
Option
Couldn't they have made it a bit less boring looking... 😢
That is ugly😂
It's an adults car.
