I got a big bundle of snap clips with no swivel off amazon for about two dollars. I got a bunch of 1-4 oz lead catfish weights from Walmart for thre bucks. I made 8 for about five bucks. Still have the 1 oz weights and a buttload of snap clips i can still use... So its a fraction of the $5. And it pays for itself several times over within a couple trips out.
Thx for watching! I do have a .44 Mag lure retreiver on a retractable dog leash, but any leash is a tradeoff in speed and accessibility. I just keep a couple of these in my pdf pocket and can get it on my line in just a few seconds. It's great for windy days where you're stuggling to maintain position.
@@kayplainsdrifter136 you could tie spare line to the swivel and pull it back up if you are unable to remove the snag so you don’t lose your weight tbh.
Good point! I actually have found managing a return line for the weight is pretty tough tho. I do have a fancy "bullet" style retriever hooked up on a retractable dog leash if the weight hangs up, but I've found it's more of a pain to use. This is fast and cheap enough I'm not too heart broken if I lose it.
Nice DIY plug knocker..should work great!!!
Thanks! I also have one of the Magnum brass plug knockers, but it is way more cumbersome to use.

Thx for watching! I know there are better options out there for more $$, but bang for buck, it's tough to beat this setup.
@@kayplainsdrifter136 I literally made more for less money.... Learn math 8 for 5 bucks is more cost-effective bang for your buck than 5 for 20 bucks
Nice, thanks for the short.
Thx for watching!
And what do you use the swivel for?
Thx! I basically was just using it for the snap...the swivel serves no function. I just had a bunch laying around.
I would at least tie a leash on it. But a cool idea for sure. Thanks

Why the swivel?
Thx for watching! No reason other than I had the swivel snap combos on hand and didn't have any big snaps to use.
