So inspired watching your whole palette tour. I've been feeling bad about not accomplishing all these palette tasks I have, but in the last four days I've gotten a lot done! I made a palette swatch chart for my Qor palette Wednesday, put all the magnets on my pans in my red/Irit palette Thursday, and on Friday, I quickly swatched out my current M. Graham palette to see what I want to add before making a chart. Today I swatched my new DaVinci, and laid out the palette. I have a lot of charts to make!!
I also have a cloverleaf palette, bought for me by friends for my 70 th birthday. At the same time I bought a second tray insert to add extra paint colours or a different brand. The well size is not big enough to hold Windsor and Newton whole pans, not tried the Whit Nights which are smaller than W and N. So I filled the pans directly from my tubes. I am happy with my decisions but if you are just setting up its with exploring different sizes and options. Happy swatching, Kathy.
It's a really fun palette, isn't it? I've been tempted to get more inserts for it, but I haven't yet because I have so many palettes as it is, but I'd like to condense someday and I really like this one. Happy painting!
I may have already commented on this video, i can never remember...sorry if I have already....Annnyway...Great, fun video, thanks for sharing...ps...ive been wanting that cloverleaf box forever...lol
I've actually been thinking of doing an updated version, so your comment just decided it for me. Thank you! I'll try to get to it in the next two weeks. :-)
I enjoy watching your step by step process, even the corrections you make. I spend too much time attempting to make everything perfect to soon. this is going to help me.
I always feel relieved when I watch other people's collection of paints, so I know I'm not the only one piling them up. 😊💖 (Mine went up to 3600 ml recently. I have enough paint for a few decades. 🙈🙉🙊)
Hi Miranda! Wow you have a huge stash of watercolor palettes!! So neat to see so many side by side. I typically use the watercolor in tubes, and squeeze them out into a Jack Richeson covered palette and then when they are dry store them as a pan would be. I think the pan style is better for traveling though. What a fun view of your watercolor stash and swatches, Miranda. Take care and have a great weekend
Thanks, Dena, for watching my video! I definitely have my favorites, and should have used directly from the tube for my Golden Retriever painting because it was so big. Something for the future! I've seen the Jack Richeson palettes and it's one of the things on my wish list for sure. So nice! Have a great weekend, too. Hugs.
I've considered double-faced tape, but I really like the flexibility of the Velcro in case I want to switch things around. Granted, I've only done that once or twice, but it was still handy!
It was lovely seeing all your pallettes, i have a handy tip that i do myself. If you take out the insert that holds the paint in the Meeden tins, you can get twice as many pans in, just stick them in with a bit of tape, magnets, glue dots. I personally use Blu Tack, i think it's called Power tack in America? Anyway, it works for me 🤗🇬🇧
This is so inspiring my god I'm loving it, I'm in love with the red big pallette, this pallette has been haunting me with ads and in my dreams lol, never thought the usage of Wells to be mixers, amazing!!
Awesome collection, love the clover palette at the end. I did a video showing all my watercolors, might have to do an update. Love, love your collection.
You can use acetone or nail polish remover to get acrylic up! Be careful with the fumes and where you put, it's very flamable! It also picks any dried paint in the area, so watch your surfaces.
Awesome collection! I see you have lots of Qor paints too, lol. That palette you have the Roman Szmal paints in is really cool - I've never seen one like that before.
Thanks, and yes, I love QoR paints! I now have 25 with my new Indigo, and there might be a few half-pans in my mini set that aren't in my big one. I saw that palette (with the RS paints) for the first time on Irit Landgrif's channel, and finally decided to try it out. I like it so far!
I bought me a cheap watercolor set the other week the paints were fine but now I mostly use the water brush the most out of the kit so I don't ruin my good Pentel water brush
Hey Miranda. Question: Have you ever used that brand new Paul Ruben's empty palette with the large wells? And if so, how did you like it? I'm trying to decide on a few supplies and I thought your idea of diluting the paint right in one end of the well sounded great. Also would a half pan size of paint without the pan fit in the wells? I don't have any paint in tubes. Enjoyed your video. Thanks.
Hi. I recently put that palette to use for the very generous gift I received of 108 half-pans. Which means I had to take out the really cool insert where I could use half of the well for diluting the paints, so I can't tell you how well I liked that. Three half-pans fit in each of the existing wells. Hope that helps!
So many palettes 🎨 so much paint which one will you use? This is my first time you have so many interesting thumbnails that I know that I will be back. Thanks for sharing. Big like 👍 and subscribe from me. Take care.😀
oh man, I wish my Pretty Excellent paints were loose! I'm transferring them all to empty half pans so I can move them around between palettes, but there's an extremely strong, elastic, *stubborn* glue dot holding them quite firmly to the plastic. Like, very firmly. I have to push, pull, and twist to get them loose, it's a whole thing 😂
Oh geez, you're lucky yet not, lol. Mine just crash everywhere! What a good idea to transfer them to half pans; I'd be much happier with the palette that way!
@@MirandaWatsonArt If you want to stick the paint blocks down, just adding a drop of water to the bottom works great! They're a little bit too big for the half pans I have (generic ones from Wish), a bit too wide. Some are fine and only stick up a bit, but some really don't work so I put them in full pans. But honestly I decided it's worth it for me to wash away a little bit of the paint on the sides to they fit decently in half pans - it's worth losing that little bit of paint (for me), since I don't use them at all otherwise. I love being able to just take the ones I'm going to use and put in a tin.

I like the velcro idea.
Thanks, George. It definitely gives me some freedom to move things around.

The Cloverleaf box is pretty amazing, actually. I'm just bummed I haven't had the chance to use it more. I need more me-s in this world, lol!
Oooooh I love the clover leaf palette!!! Hope it is available now! How fun! Thank you!🙂
I’d love to see an updated version of all the water colours you own tubes and palette 😍

Right? And the crazy thing is I want to try even more brands!
I love my Van Gogh set
It's a really pleasant paint to work with, isn't it? I'm quite happy with it.
I really love how professional you are while talking about your sets; hope you use them well and happily 💜💜💜💜
Thank you!

Jummy! All those palletes! Fun to watch!
I use a drop of gum arabic to stick the loose paints back in the pan.
Love to watch your videos! Ty!!! Xxx
Sweet, thanks for the tip about the gum arabic. So glad you enjoy the videos!

Lol, yes, the red palette is great! You might have to get yourself one!

Thanks! I probably watched that video, lol. Yes, do an updated one! I love those kind of videos. :-)
Awesome! Loved watching! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching! I'm trying to get to your new video today, but I've been slammed with other work. Soon!
Wow you still have your son’s school watercolors, as well as yours. I love this video. Lovely palettes 🎨
Thank you. I'm kind of surprised I still have them. I should try them out here soon, see how frustrated I get, lol.

How do you store them?
They are all in a small dresser drawer.
That's a lot of watercolour half pan hard to palette.
It is a lot. I'm grateful for them.
