adam I have Lupus and am currently on chemo to treat it. So until my health is stable enough to come off the chemo I cannot get pregnant as the chemo would kill the baby.
My sister had Lupus,.and wasn't suppose to live pass teenage life but she was with us, alot longer thanx to God till her 34th yr. so great..she was a beautiful artist always kept busy was her thing,.''live ur day to the fullest'' she'd say..Anyways she wasn't suppose to have kids,.She did ,had a healthy girl,.and the disease didn't spread to her at all,.Also her kids are healthy as well,.May we thank God for that as well,.So amazing what God doe's for us,.But did you's not want to adopt either,.it would be just like your own baby Krystel,..Take care, and God bless,.And don't worry what people say, or do,.

I also want to thank you for being so responsible and considerate by wanting to have everything figured out (health, finances, etc) and organized before considering bringing a child into your life, either biologically or through adoption. :D I also hope you can get to feeling better soon! I have autoimmune issues, hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia, chronic back pain and epilepsy, so I can definitely sympathize AND empathize with your situation. My health has deteriorated in the last few years to the point that I even gave my own daughter up for adoption after discussing it with my family, friends, and doctors. It was the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my life, but it was the right decision. Not only was it getting to the point I felt I couldn't adequately care for her much longer, but all she'd ever known was a sick mother. I was actually in the military when she was conceived, after a antibiotic they prescribed for me caused my oral contraception to fail. It was almost 6 weeks before my husband and I found out I was pregnant, and that was because of a seizure that sent me to the hospital. Long story short, she started to take responsibility for my health, and I couldn't allow that to go on...
I just found your channel today, I used to have a huge American Girl collection, dating back to books my mother had a long time ago. I had over 50 dolls, I made a spare room into a nursery, it was my sanctuary, a place where I could sit down and have tea parties with my dolls and my puppies and feel like I was close to my mother again. when she passed, I turned her room into a place where I could feel her warmth and presence. I gave my collection away when I moved. Made me very sad actually, but I may start up again, you brightened up my day, may many blessings come your way.
You know many adults play videogames that are actually meant for kids (not hating I love them too) and then they hate on this. Just stop it, it's a hobby! If she would actually think they were real--totally different story, but i doubt that she would makw wideos of it if she thought they were real. I love dolls, and I have a ton of porcelain, ball joint, vinyl, etc. But I just can't get used to reborn babies. Of course, I used to hate tiny dolls, and open mouth dolls and now I have those, too. XD I just don't know if I could own a reborn without forgetting it isn't real. XD

+Aja Linden Artists sculpt them and produce them into blank vinyl kits which are then bought by reborn artists who apply many layers of paints to give realistic skin tones and details and either hand paint the hair or root mohair using a fine needle that pushes one strand of hair into the head at a time to give the effect of real hair growing out of the scalp. Rooting can take 60 plus hours and painting 10-20 hours.

This is not a negative comment. However I just don't understand this interest/hobby because it seems way beyond a hobby to the point of being a lifestyle choice. What do people get out of this? Nurturing something? Loving something? Is it better than real babies? If so why? Are people generally single women who have this interest? I really try hard to understand things that I don't get so I wonder if someone can help me to better understand this? Also, Krystle, if you have health issue, I could possibly really help you. If you are interested in healing and educating yourself I can point you in the right direction.
Everyone has their own reasons and we don't expect everyone to understand the hobby. But it really is just that. It is a hobby no different than grown men who play with cars or trains. No different than playing a role play video game. I collect these dolls because they are beautiful artwork. I like to share videos of them with fellow collectors and I like to make my videos something other than just showing the doll sitting there. I enjoy using the dolls to be creative in my videos. Like a puppeteer. They look so real so I like to role play in the video I make because I can bring out my creative side in filming and editing. Outside of my videos I may occasionally hold a doll while watching TV if I'm feeling unwell or stressed because holding a baby is calming. But for the most part if I'm not making a doll related video my dolls sit and look pretty on display. There is scientific proof that holding a baby or a doll releases oxytocin which is a feel good hormone that reduces stress. This is why therapists will sometimes recommend a reborn for cuddle therapy and why a lot of nursing homes are also using the dolls to calm alztimers patients. Many of the woman who collect these dolls are actually married with real children of their own. Some maybe having empty neat syndrome or some may have lost a child or are unable to have children. But out of the many collectors I know they just enjoy the art and enjoy playing. Instead of playing video games (which my husband plays for hours some days) we choose to play with dolls. It brings out our inner child and is light hearted and fun. Nothing more.

I am 36 and still suck my thumb and have a comfort pillow!! Whilst people think it's weird, it's a positive stress reliever just like the dolls. Again, my comment wasn't negative in the slightest, i just couldn't grasp the appeal and I still don't to a certain degree. However I CAN grasp the benefits and what people 'get out if it' now that you took the trouble to explain. Even real life babies aren't my thing so it's unlikely that this kind of interest would appeal to me is it haha? I have had many experiences in my life and hold many opinions that put me outside 'the norm'. Therefore I will NEVER condemn anyone for interests that causes no harm to others. I believe that the dolls are lucky, as would any real baby be, to have such attention lavished upon them. Thanks for replying and not getting defensive. I often try and explain my opinions to people because this is the way we can foster understanding, however, a defensive or angry approach does nothing to further this. A warning about spam and hiding comments is appearing to me but I cannot fathom why or which comment t is referring to? As the channel owner perhaps you know more?? I can't see any triangles though! Whatever youtube! I am sorry that you have to be grateful to people just for being understanding. It's sad isn't it? I get it a lot with many of my experiences or opinions.It drives me crazy that so many people are just determined to be vindictive or narrow minded when even experts say it's harmless. Not that I am a big fan of experts (don't get me wrong) but for those that are conventional and narrow minded, 'experts' seem to be their guru's therefore you'd think they would listen wouldn't you? For example I am really big into my alternative health and have had huge successes with just diet and herbs. It goes against most of the doctors and 'experts' opinions but they cannot deny my results! Although many do and refer to them as anecdotal of course! They also refer to people recovering from terminal cancer as 'spontaneous remission cases' which is a complete insult to all the hard work and changes these people have made to beat the unbeatable. They were sent home to die by these 'experts' or put through terribly damaging treatments by them and they can't even give them the recognition they deserve. I am not a big fan of medication since 999 times out of 1000, herbs will do a better job and a hell of lot less damage! The only thing I am grateful for, is this 'movement' grows by the day. People are realising that we are sicker than we ever used to be and are taking matters into their own hands. The amount of doctors realising this is also increasing. Diet is being given back the respect it deserves. I am from the UK so our general attitude towards conventional medicine is not as 'ultimate' as yours in the U.S. This is because our government is employing more and more alternative treatments. They are only allowed to work with evidence based solutions, which proves that this stuff works!! We are nowhere near as advanced as I would like to be but we are on the right track. Again, if you would like any advice (you don't have to take it) about any of your health conditions please ask me and I will do my best to help.Whilst you should never follow the random advice of someone on the internet, you can certainly check out if what I say is true and sounds a good option for you. It's responsible to tell you to check out any alternative medicine with your doctor first but in reality, the majority have no idea about it. Whilst I still advice it there are other ways of checking it's safe that are far more reliable than a doctor (if they are ignorant). Good luck with everything!

The stress reliever aspect is something I can totally relate to. I am 36 and still suck my thumb and have a comfort pillow!! Whilst people think it's weird, it's a positive stress reliever just like the dolls.
Again, my comment wasn't negative in the slightest, i just couldn't grasp the appeal and I still don't to a certain degree. However I CAN grasp the benefits and what people 'get out if it' now that you took the trouble to explain. Even real life babies aren't my thing so it's unlikely that this kind of interest would appeal to me is it haha? I have had many experiences in my life and hold many opinions that put me outside 'the norm'. Therefore I will NEVER condemn anyone for interests that causes no harm to others. I believe that the dolls are lucky, as would any real baby be, to have such attention lavished upon them.
Thanks for replying and not getting defensive. I often try and explain my opinions to people because this is the way we can foster understanding, however, a defensive or angry approach does nothing to further this. I hope this thread helps others to understand may be?
I am not sure if someone has marked one of the comments here as spam? A warning about spam and hiding comments is appearing to me but I cannot fathom why or which comment t is referring to? As the channel owner perhaps you know more?? It doesn't matter greatly but i do think this would be an educational contribution to the comment thread, therefore, it would be a shame if others cannot see it?

It is a breath of fresh air to have someone like you genuinely ask and not come back with something nasty when I try to answer. Not sure about the spam part. I often find youtube puts comments into my spam section that I then have to approve. It is so weird because most of them are just normal comments.

I am sorry that you have to be grateful to people just for being understanding. It's sad isn't it? I get it a lot with many of my experiences or opinions.It drives me crazy that so many people are just determined to be vindictive or narrow minded when even experts say it's harmless. Not that I am a big fan of experts (don't get me wrong) but for those that are conventional and narrow minded, 'experts' seem to be their guru's therefore you'd think they would listen wouldn't you?
For example I am really big into my alternative health and have had huge successes with just diet and herbs. It goes against most of the doctors and 'experts' opinions but they cannot deny my results! Although many do and refer to them as anecdotal of course! They also refer to people recovering from terminal cancer as 'spontaneous remission cases' which is a complete insult to all the hard work and changes these people have made to beat the unbeatable. They were sent home to die by these 'experts' or put through terribly damaging treatments by them and they can't even give them the recognition they deserve.
I am not a big fan of medication since 999 times out of 1000, herbs will do a better job and a hell of lot less damage! The only thing I am grateful for, is this 'movement' grows by the day. People are realising that we are sicker than we ever used to be and are taking matters into their own hands. The amount of doctors realising this is also increasing. Diet is being given back the respect it deserves.
I am from the UK so our general attitude towards conventional medicine is not as 'ultimate' as yours in the U.S. This is because our government is employing more and more alternative treatments. They are only allowed to work with evidence based solutions, which proves that this stuff works!! We are nowhere near as advanced as I would like to be but we are on the right track.
Again, if you would like any advice (you don't have to take it) about any of your health conditions please ask me and I will do my best to help.Whilst you should never follow the random advice of someone on the internet, you can certainly check out if what I say is true and sounds a good option for you. It's responsible to tell you to check out any alternative medicine with your doctor first but in reality, the majority have no idea about it. Whilst I still advice it there are other ways of checking it's safe that are far more reliable than a doctor (if they are ignorant).
