Marcelo Garcia also known as ‘Marcelinho’, is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Master Fabio Gurgel, who competes for the Alliance BJJ academy. Having won 5 world jiu jitsu tournaments and 4 times the ADCC (two of the most important tournaments in jiu jitsu), Garcia is widely considered one of the best grapplers in the world, while his general demeanor made him one of the most beloved athletes by the BJJ community. Marcelo Garcia has also been featured in BJJHeroes top 10 Best Grapplers of All Time list.
People from around the world travel to Marcelos academy in NYC to learn authentic Marcelo Garcia techniques or join his now famous website MG InAction to learn online.
Romulo Barral is one of the top Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighters in the “Meio Pesado” weight division. Tipped as “The Number 1 BJJ fighter in the world” in 2007 by Gracie Mag, Romulo Barral maintained this high class black belt status in the years that followed with consistent medals at the top BJJ tournaments in the world reaching BJJ Heroes’ Top 10 Competitors of All Time ranking. Originally from Belo Horizonte in Brazil, Romulo Barral established his own successful jiu jitsu academy in the United States, proving that he was also a talented coach. Extremely good base by Romulo when Marcelo had him in X with Barrals foot on his shoulder. Marcelo gets the sweep 95% of the time from there.

Oh he was black belt, they used the purple belt to demarcate the points
So, I believe this match happened around 2005-2006 It was an event called Lutas Casada where people could vote on which matches they wanted. I have more matches from the event and will be posting those as well too
If I remember correctly, you could score points in the first round but the second round did not have points. Marcelo flew into Rio the day before from NYC. I could be wrong but I believe that is it.
