Speaking as someone who has cooked professionally for around 15 years I have to say you guys did that meal like absolute kings! Talk about simple preparation and letting the ingredients do the talking, way to go! Also as someone from the from the US I'm incredibly jealous of both your lifestyles. Keep it up!
Have to appreciate your mate’s set up. The outdoor coal grill, the herbs, the chopstick tongs, high quality olive oil, kitchen, knives etc

Love living on the Sunshine Coast, but your Sydney forays make me a little reminiscent. Fishing & diving there as a kid & through adulthood makes me now realise the relative abundance so close. Different sea life up here, equally as interesting but different. Fan belly, octopus, flounder, you saw a lot! I love the sea grass, the pink sponge & cunjevoi - all the sights of temperate water!!! And the gar!!! 🎣🥗🤙✌
