I posted this already as a reply to the other comment thread, but it's hidden at the bottom. I'm creating a new thread for more visibility as this clarifies some incorrect assumptions in the other thread. The other thread has become a debate about which hand left-handed violinists should use to hold the violin, and I understand that the convention is that both right-handed and left-handed people use their left hands to hold the violin. But if you look at the video description (which can be easy to miss because you have to click "show more" to see it), Michelle explains why she is holding the violin on the "wrong" side. She was born with amniotic band syndrome, which affected development of 8 of her fingers including a missing left thumb. Together with her teachers (and, like any other musician, countless hours of practice), she persisted in finding a way to make beautiful music. I think we would all agree that we should be encouraging of each other's musical journeys, especially those who had to overcome personal challenges. For more information, here's an older article in the local news about Michelle's violin playing: www.ksdk.com/article/article/features/musician-born-with-2-12-fingers-on-playing-hand-lands-1st-chair/63-487119064
Since some of you guys are confused, the owner of this channel said in the description that he has something with his hand that affects the way he holds the violin. That is why he plays with the opposite hand.
Our 7th orchestra is playing this with the 8th grade, and measure 61 for the celloes 😐😐😐😬😬👩💻👩💻👩💻 those grace notes are killing me even though 7th grade dont play that, im determined to be better than all the other 8th grade cellos.
@@specialtimeline777ty! I've been working on it really hard, been practicing the part every day, and It payed off! I'll be playing with the 8th grade for pretty much the whole song!
